at this point Helena Bonham Carter has potrayed the Queen's mother ( The King Speech), the Queen's sister (The Crown) im waiting the day she got the part being the Queen.
I was a hundred percent with Margaret when her birthday devolved into a discussion about how great her soon-to-be ex-husband was. I had a birthday once where the conversation switched over to my older brother and now sister-in-law's upcoming wedding, due to take place around three months later. I just remember sitting there, so devastated, because we didn't get back to me for the rest of the dinner. And then everyone was shocked when they remembered why we'd gotten together in the first place. A few half-hearted happy birthdays were said, but I just felt so broken afterwards. I have always been told that it's never about me, for the entirety of my life, and, to have one of the few moments when it was supposed to be about me snatched away was truly hurtful.
Oh I was right with Margaret when she unloaded on them! I was even pissed off at Elizabeth and I generally like her on the show. And I definitely commensurate with your situation. On my 45th birthday I was thrown out of my home (my name wasn't on the lease as a leaseholder unfortunately) by now EX. To say it was one of the worst days of my life wouldn't be overstating things.
Same happened to me last month. My brother and I share a birthday month but mine is first, I begged for weeks to get our shit together and we barely went to the supermarket for 2 hours the day before, didn’t get all the ingredients for the dish I was making for myself and my mother’s guests- as we left too late and mother wasn’t even into it yet the second we got home I barely finished getting the produce out when she rushed AGAIN to her friend’s house to get a bunch of crap she dodged even keep cuz my aunt just took everything. Then no one helped me prep the dish, all went home early and no one called me on my actual birthday. My brother had a 2 day celebration and my sister had a week celebration on her becoming a doctor for the third time this year. It is the worst
Yeah that's basically my family, my cousins, aunts, and uncles all seem to openly hate me, they can never stop talking about my brother, even when he's not around, on my birthday as well.
i know this video is about margaret but that scene of olivia coleman's elizabeth with the PM pausing in the middle of telling margaret's jokes and just the look on her face when she says "you've made it this far" killed me
“We went to Australia in 1954 we left them at home for 5 months.” “And, do you suppose that might have had consequences?” “On what? The tour was a triumph.” Mommy issues really does explain a lot 😭
@@BernieMittens or when the plaster fell from the ceiling at BP and she had to pour a housemaid and two footmen a brandy with,"Good God! Pull yourselves together; I was the one almost BEAMED-not YOU!"
margaret: *wants to support her husband* elizabeth: you must attend this party at the white house and save great britain! margaret: *secures the bailout* also margaret: i did well, didn't I? elizabeth: yOu jUsT WeNt tO a ParTy WhAt Do yoU eXpeCt?
When people tell me, how single children must be lonely, I ask them to watch The Crown. Much of the show is about sibling rivalry and one of the siblings being a complete basket case.🤣 Edward VIII, Margaret, Charles and Harry are case in point.
I lost when Princess Margaret rant about her husband cheating and fled to Gabon, tryna expose his dirty ass even more to her guest and there The Queen trying to prevent her. Iconic sisters 💀🤣
I just love how both her & princess Anne will legit throw hints at QEII to no avail. In this, princess Margaret literally asked about the whole abandonment issues with not being around her kids for so many months & all QEII had to say in response was that the tour was a success. Absolutely nothing about missing her children or how that could've messed them up mentally/emotionally. Then with princess Anne about the tour both prince Charles & princess Diana went on in australia. Both hinted about reasons why the queens children turned out the way they did but never once did she get it unless she did & just didn't care since she was brought up to believe the crown comes above all else sadly.
I thought her portrayal in "A Royal Night Out" was spot on... "And then we ended up in a most peculiar nightclub; by the way what IS a 'knocking shop'?" Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!!
I met her once. Ankles like a balloons full of custard and oddly no bra so everything was on the move rather alarmingly. And her blouse was on inside out. She'd been reading some article in Reader's Digest about aluminium saucepans causing dementia and asked me if I knew where she could buy some. All very weird
I know The Crown takes complete liberties when it comes to the truth but I don’t doubt for a second Princess Margaret was an absolute hoot to be around.

Wouldn't the queen have objected to her sister telling off-color jokes? It's not like this was at a private dinner party with a few friends. Queen Elizabeth should have said "Margaret, I have a limerick for you. It goes like this: A princess who ate off of platters Behaved as if nothing matters When in a fun mood She turned frightfully lewd Leaving the crown's reputation in tatters
Margaret was a real piece of work, and not everyone was charmed. There’s an old story that Margaret demanded that Judy Garland sing a song for her at a party. Garland shot back, “When you Christen a ship for me, I’ll sing a song for you.”
It's from the Super Mario game. I think it's supposed to be a metaphor for the precarious nature of royal life. ( I may be giving the creator too much credit...lol)
Just becoz life is unfair to you, you cannot stop there a d complain and bag for whole life. She is just sick and immature women who don't know the line between good and bad but want alk the riches
Margaret is a tragic figure. She could have married Peter but would have had to give up her royal perks. She should have done that. Big mistake. She never found love again.
