The Crown is a very accuarete portrayal of that establishment, yes she had all the luxuries BUT she had very very few short periods in her life in which she was remotely happy. So yes, I do feel sorry for her. Lets not forget everything we know today about that ex queen - she had saville on their properties numerous times, children disappeared from canada while she was there with her husband and her official engagements document mentions the couple being near the town where the dozen children disappeared. And that was huge news when it happened. Then, a woman took pictures of a young boy hanging by the curtain outside of a window from the palace and the palace came out and said that it was just child's play and it was planned. Sure.. Numerous dark things happened while she was queen and she was nowhere near a kind and understanding person, and most of all, she was a terrible mother. She was quoted as saying: "The list of what matters to me is first my horses, then my dogs, then my husband, and finally, my children." Nothing further needs to be written. **Seeing as in this documentary they mentioned that at the Peacock Ball they all watched pornographic films...let's hope no children were present because, like I said...saville was a prominent guest of every estate of the queen's and that establishment....

What bothers me the most it’s taking so lightly in this documentary and I think people forget how wealthy princess Margaret was and if she ever needed money, she had access to it. This is why I find it. Ridiculous that there’s a monarchy still in England and people are paying for it. I know we pay for it because we’re in a country where the Crown is still on by Prince Charlesis the largest landowner in the world and someone gave them effing land poor little Rich girl she sounds like a Donald Trump of the 1970s really I’m sick of this working class even a fraction of what these wealthy individuals got life would be much better for them and they work so hard for it and they’re just born into it. This is what I call bullshit and I hate calling it out, but somebody has to because these so-called experts on the royal family are paid to be experts by the royal family and their whole media empire but this type of money you can do anything in the world you want😊

The house was also paid for by the British island owner, Baron Colin Tennant. She does seem to have felt herself entitled ( being titled) to lavish gifts and free work being bestowed upon her.

So that is what the Commonwealth financially supports - disgusting.

Good for her finding a place she could relax and have fun. She couldn't marry the man she loved and ended up marrying an abusive cheater. Glad she had some fun.

My goodness its strange how she and the Queen had the voice of an 11yr old girl all the way up to about 50. Margaret's voice got deeper first maybe because the cigarettes but the Queen still nearly sounded like that to almost 60. If they weren't born royal they could of been great voice actors like for puppets shows and cartoons.

If I were Margaret I'd have toned down the drinking and smoking, upped the charitable causes, maintained a glamorous and fashionable existence as the Queens sister without the burden of being Queen, and kept the Mustique shenanigans small and quiet. She'd have lived longer had she done things smarter. She had ALL the potential to succeed.

It sounds like Margaret would have lived longer if she’d never fallen into the hedonistic lifestyle of Mustique. I imagine her son wanted to “unload” that house as soon as possible. If Margaret had good sense, she would have gifted back to Colin.

Margaret never recovered from being denied marriage to Peter. Adding insult to injury, her oldest nephew and niece were allowed to divorce and remarry a few decades later. I hope she found solace in the beauty of Mustique.

I really enjoyed watching the series “The Crown” on Netflix. I never paid attention to which Caribbean island Margaret was always traveling to when she needed to compress and getaway. She definitely loved Martinique and they made sure to take care of her there.

Princess Margaret did make most of her mistakes out of whimsicality as she always wanted to prove that she was better than anyone in the Royal family. She could have easily married Peter Townsend but she didn’t want to live the life without the luxury she was used to or rather loved to enjoy. She did everything from smoking, drinking Only because she wanted damn attention. She wasn’t understanding of most of the matters she was expected to analyze and understand. Thus she suffered eventually.

Margaret struggled with being second born in a way most people can't imagine. I wouldn't want to be her. What would have happened if she had been allowed to marry her first love? Her life seemed to be purposely thwarted by Elizabeth, and that inner reality became her constant pain.
