Princess Peach Showtime: A Shakespeare Mario Game 

This game was honestly very cute and I got to do Toad voices again. 10/10 would recommend

The absolute joy of watching this live was seeing the chat flood with "SHE'S SO CUTE" after every Peach transformation

As a stage manager of my local school play, holy crap the budget is off the charts, different levels of sets with platforms at different levels actors can stand on, rotating sets, holy crap princess peach what did you embezzle to fund this

I loved it when detective Peach said "a bolt of brilliance" and then divorced her wife for reasons that were never adequately explored.

Princess Peach: Showtime is a pretty cool and fun game, but it would easily be GOTY if after collecting all the Sparkle Gems in the base game, beating the final boss and seeing the credits roll, you then get the prompt: *You can now play as Daisy*

Nintendo really saw Balan Wonderworld and said: "Okay but what if we made it good" and somehow they managed it

One of the most wholesome parts about playing this game was that both of my nephews insisted they wouldn't like it because 'it's such a girly game', and then watching them both become extremely invested in it and choosing favorite outfits, and now they both want the game.

Anyone else notice how... normal Peach sounds in this game? Normally she's really high pitched and airy, but she sounds just like a regular human being in this game. I wonder if they're going to change Peach's voice direction to be more like this in future games.

I just wanna appreciate the style this game has. The whole stageplay motif is really charming, love how there's always a spotlight on Peach and everything has that cardboard prop look to them, the bonus areas are the backrooms, the fact you can see the invisible strings pulling puppets around, adorable stuff.

Still can't get over the main villain's name is literally Grape.

As a theater kid, I can confirm, it is common practice for interdimensional horrors and references to break into the performance area to kick everyone out and empower one person for no fucking reason.

Funny thing about kidnapping in the Mario universe: It's cannonically impossible to avoid by really anybody. Luigi Mansion series: Mario is kidnapped out of nowere. Luigi saves him. Super Paper Mario (& the movie): Luigi is kidnapped whitout issue. Mario saves him. Super Princess Peach: Mario AND Luigi are kidnapped by Bowser, so Peach has to save em. I bet that if Bowser wanted to kidnap Mario, Luigi AND Peach the Toads would save them or somethin

I can't believe Princess Peach defeated the Heartless.

I'm about a half hour into the video, and I must say that I love it. This really feels like a game that the people working on it wanted to make, and that they put heart and care into. Peach looks fabulous, in her different costumes, and just in her different dresses. I think you're right about the Smash Brothers team having to put more stuff into Peach's move set. I've never seen a game with her at the center (I know they exist, but I've never interacted with any of them) and this is just wonderful, I feel like it adds a lot to her character. Plus, this whole game just looks gorgeous. Thank you, of course, for streaming this, and to Chloe for editing it. Not the longest video you have, but still must have taken a lot of work. (also, the person who told you to stop using "cooking" like that around the fourteen minute mark, the fact that their name is puns_and_anxiety feels both ironic and fitting.)

I love the fact they made a game about overdramatic theater kids where "hit them with some Razzle Dazzle" was an actual mechanic.

Everyone is asking how Peach ever gets kidnapped. But I think this just explains why Bowser is so busy he can't fight Mario until the end. They're busy duelling while Mario is tackling the lackeys.

Everyone who is like "where is all this when Peach gets kidnapped?!" seem to forget that this is all the power of the theater and that she didn't have it before... In fact, this might be similar to how in the movie Peach by herself was competent, but needed items or weapons in order to actually fight Bowser (also, he probably take Toads hostages constantly too).

Princess Peach is only sanctioned in the Mushroom Kingdom and according to the mario universe, there are other kingdoms that have full royal leaders. She was actually invited to the play from another kingdom which is populated with Theets.

In a very strange way, watching this made me nostalgic for Arkham Asylum, you get upgrades via air drops, the map is littered with unrelated challenges you need to do for completion, there are dangerous enemies you need to dodge over and attack from behind, the whole Light Fang/Scarecrow section... or I might be losing my mind LUL

My theory for why Peach doesn't fight back when Bowser kidnaps her (despite literally being a badass) is that it's all for good fun. I don't know what the point is, but it's gotta be some sort of game or something at this point, right? I can't think of any other scenario where it makes sense.

This game is really cute until you realize its a propaganda piece meant to shift international opinion on Peach's Ironfisted Authoritarian regime in the Mushroom Kingdom.
