A short video Montage of the Un-boxing of a Hobby King Princess RC Boat. This is the Electric model w/ a 1620kv motor. Very well packaged and very nicely detailed. Based off a Canados Open 90' Motor Yacht. My plan is to build into a scale camera platform for my Contour Roam or a GoPro. This involves a serious remodding of the boat that would include:
Added Weight/Ballast
Continuous Rotation Servo install for a rotating camera mount (channel 3)
bottom paint for scale realism
larger diameter 3 or 4 blade prop - Hoping to drop RPM's but get a smoother ride with less rooster-tail.
ESC will be a Traxxas VXL-6s by Castle Creations. Radio a Turnigy GTX3 w/ Receiver.
additional water pickup and lines for better Motor and ESC cooling

its a very nice boat I just bought the GRAND PRINCESS and its a foot longer and Im having it custom fit with port and starboard lights, working radar and much more with my friend Naveda08 who is a customer builder with TFL and its going to be awesome with all the updated servos and esc!! its going to be awesome!!

The foam stays in the bow for flotation. It’s cut to shape to stay in there in case it takes water

Its strange now when watching your video, as few moths ago when i was deciding will i buy it or not, and now my princess is sitting near my desk finished :) You can check my channel for maiden testing. I do lot of necessary modifications in order to make build properly. Whoever think this is ARR unit be ready for not happy surprise on first runs. As for advices i will be short as i can. Cooling: as long as your cooling line is not clogged your cooling will be more than fine for that drive train. No need for additional water pickups for sure. As i installed central cooling system in mine and it keep temps in mild 40ish deg of Celsius, i think this is more than a proof that your will do fine on 2s without central cooling,since my setup is 3s. For central cooling system i mean that gear pump is pumping antifreeze trough heat exchanger and system and sea water is cooling antifreeze (like in real ships lol). Drive train: Be sure to check grommet of stuffing tube. Mine was broken and hole was bigger so i completely remove stuffing tube and its plywood holder and install new removable flange type plywood holder and new grommet type. All platform: Be sure to reinforce all platforms with 5minute epoxy glue and motor mount and/or servo mount with roving and epoxy resin as well! Outer decks must be additionally protected with varnish and silicone on the edges,otherwise will be destroyed. Rear compartment secure with some safeline and put hatch patch on it. For main hatch i used E gasket for doors and windows custom cuted. Your stainless steel fence IS stainless steel. Yes you can do a litle polishing. Okay i think thats it :) Happy build mate and enjoy your Princess

May I ask, is it acceptable to run this boat on salt water?

@@almendoza6198 yes of course. Though you need to wash internal cooling system with tap water (or destiled if you are perfectionist) and after all this you need to remove flexible shaft and stinger drive and clean it with wd40 and grease it before putting back. Flex shafts are sensitive on rusting so buy few and have it as spare. Also good idea is to have spare stinger drive axle. I still have first stinger axle. And i changed flex shaft few month ago.
