thank you so much for this video!!! this really helps me and my friend a lot. we're getting tired of our machine keeps giving inaccurate cutting for our stickers with the scan n cut function, using this methods give us more control 👍👍👍 we've tried this method and it works for us. I just use photoshop to make the cutting line and registration marks and export as jpg just like in the video. Then export to fcm using canvas workspace. Load it up to the machine and we're good!

This was so helpful, John! I did it after watching you weeks ago but converted using Convertio. Now I know why my transferred file is so big (converted to png) and why I had to manually adjust on the machine. But hey, I was able to kisscut waterproof stickers that I printed without upgrading my CM900 and buying the activation card and it’s all thanks to you. Godbless!
I just ordered a sdx225f machine. I thought the machine can just scan and cut the objects out of the paper. what is the benefit of 21:53, this method? sorry for the newbie question .. I am in the USA
The print to cut kit was not released in the US so it's not surprising that you aren't familiar with it. The Print To Cut kit allows users to create re-usable printed graphics that have matching cutting outlines (without having to perform the full scanning/recognition every time) when used in conjunction with SDX models of the SNC.

Great video John, thank you. I have a question: 'Save as Picture' leaves a black background when saving as jpeg, yet yours doesn't? I am using Windows 11 & Microsoft Office Home & Student 2016. When I choose this image to be Pixel Traced in Canvas Workspace (for PC) the measurements are 457.2mm x 4702mm, which means it goes of the 12x12 mat. Using CM550. A tadge frustrating. Any thoughts? Thank you.
That does sound odd. What image export settings do you have enabled in Word? It might be worth checking those to see if there's anything that stands out.
Sadly I have very little experience with the MAC OS and Pages so couldn't say for sure. If you can replicate the steps shown in the video exactly, there's no reason it shouldn't work.
Hi John! Thanks for the video. I was contemplating purchasing PrintToCut from New Zealand when I came across your video. Walking through the steps right now and got to the copy and paste to align the pieces and I don't see the green line. Is there a specific version of Word to use? Also, just to clarify in case it makes a difference, I'm in the USA and I was converting centimeters to inches.
It was at the 5:38 mark but I've figured it out. I had to check "use alignment guide" from the align drop down menu. So I was able to complete it and make the template. I haven't used it yet on the scanncut so that's my next step. Thanks for your quick response and for the video!
Is it really worth the price or effort of Print to Cut? If you don’t line up the sheet on the mat exactly straight so you can exactly match the registration marks, it’s not going to help or am I missing something? If it’s slightly crooked then the marks won’t ever line up? Sounds like it might be easier to scan each sheet, crooked or straight, pick your offset and let it cut.
The advantage is that you avoid the variables that can occur on individual scans so if you're making a bulk load, you can guarantee the outline will be the same.

The machine scans the registration marks and automatically moves the cutting outline to match (with the official kit). With this method, it's a little less automated as you are having to manually line things up. Older CM models aren't compatible with the official kit tho so this is a potential workaround for them. For others it's a way of avoiding the expense of the official kit and ensuring a more consistent result.

If you want it and are in the US, a lot of retailers around the world will sell you it but won't ship it. Instead, they'll open the packet and email you the activation code.
Good morning John. I am following your video but I am getting a black page with squares with the pic encoded which won’t find a cut line only around the squares. I must be doing something wrong but following your video to the letter and saving as a jpg. Can you please help. Thank you
If you have a 12 x 12 printer, you'd need to set the document dimensions as that, then position the recognition marks in the corners. Everything else should be the same as shown.
