Printing and Building a Pantograph Design 

Laura, Laura, Laura! If I were close enough to you; and covid wasn't here, I would hug your precious neck and hold-on for a long time!!! Thank you so much. I've been using my domestic Husqvarna Viking and have struggled for so long buying pantographs, then using dressmaking pattern tissue paper, spreading out the pantograph and coping the design onto the tissue paper. Then attaching paper to my quilt and sewing over the tissue paper. Removing the paper when finished. Do you realize just what you have done for me? I'm talking about all queen size quilts for my 40 grands/great-grands. I have only completed 23 quilts but have 17 more to complete. I have followed you for ??? years and always been gratefull for your teaching and help but, Lady, you certainly made my day with this tutorial. I will research the other one you suggested. Thank you I’ve been wanting to try pantographs and now I can with this video.

Since this is copy paper, you should be able to put the paper on the front of the fabric and stitch directly onto the paper and tear off the paper.

You make things look so easy! I am a new quilter. I have only been quilting a year. I am just now to the point that my seams don’t look like a road map. I will give this a go. Thanks for the tutorial.

Great video! I have several purchased and free downloaded pantographs from Urban Elementz. I have a Baby lock Coronet long arm machine and love using pantographs on my quilts. I like the idea of marking the backing of the quilt. I’ll have to give that a try. Thank you!

Do you have a video on marking dark backing or heavily printed backing fabrics? Also do you have a video showing how to wash out the lines? Do you soak the whole top or just rub with a damp cloth or maybe just mist with a spray bottle?

Thank you for the link to these designs. Do you have any suggestion on how to get the pattern traced onto backing that has a busy design? I typically don't use white or cream.

Thanks Laura! I asked after that last video...How are you going to quilt it? LOL I just needed to be patient as I see you have shown us a very interesting and easy way with this one.

I saw this before and didn't try it. For sure I am now! Have you tried this on a larger quilt such as a throw and on a domestic machine? I am not having any luck with the "chalk" method as it smears and I lose the design as I go. Also tried the light paper method and takes forever to tear off. What weight thread do you use on top and bottom and do you always use polyester instead of cotton? Thank you for providing such great lessons!

Not sure what I am doing wrong. Went to sight. Only found the one design you were working on offered for free. No others for free.
