Tried them, hated them. Way easier to just lowered and dial in base layer settings and use a scrapper. I've got it to the point now with my two printers I barely have to push at all and models come right off, large or small ones, with very few failures ever.
Right off the build plate, I spray Mean Green. Take them to my ultrasonic with hot water for 15 minutes. Then, in the pickle jar I use Denatured Alcohol, then air dry for a few minutes. Then I cure A half hour later I’m painting them
The Lychee slicer settings we used are in a Twitter link in the video description (toward the bottom). The link features a screenshot the exact resin profile settings we used. Hope this is helpful. Thanks. :-)
Thank you for the kind words. We're going to be printing a bunch of minis on our Mighty 4K in the coming weeks. And we'll definitely make/post as many videos as we can of us painting them. Please be aware that we are mediocre mini painters at best. But we still really enjoy it. :-)
@@3DPrintingMinis I'm still learning so I cant wait to see your results :) I bought a Elegoo Pro 2 so I can print minis for dioramas. I have been using a Ender2, but its just not up to the task on minis and I hope the SLA path will produce better results :)
@@evamikem FDM printers are a lot fun and great for printing terrain and larger pieces. But I feel resin is the way to go if you want to print high-quality miniatures in the 28mm size range. Resin printed miniatures are also a lot easier to paint (due to the better details and smoother surfaces) and will not eat up and ruin your paint brushes as quickly as FDM prints will (because of the smoother surfaces as well). The resin mix we use (1kg of Siraya Tech Fast grey with 150mll of Tenacious) works really well for minis. This is the same mix of we used when we were printing with our Mars Pro 2 last month. It really does make the figures easier to handle (and accidentally drop) without worrying to much about them breaking (within reason). Best of luck with your prints!
I come from the “D&D players worship Satan” generation, and I try to point out how D&D (or any RPG) actually helps people learn social interaction, helps with math and numbers, problem-solving and a bunch of other skills, but nine times out of ten, it falls on deaf ears 🙄
