This is a timelapse video showing the assembly of my new PrintNc Pro.
Most of the improvements - compared to a standard PrintNC - are heavily inspired by Logan.
Check out his github and support him.
github.com/LoganFraser/PrintN...
Some facts about my machine:
- Footprint 1350mm x 950mm
- Workarea 950mm x 700mm
- Frame is made of 3"x2 (Y axis)", 3"x1,5"(bottom support) and 4"x3" (X Gantry) steel beams.
- Baseboard is made of 1/2" aluminum plate with 999 (37x27) holes, tapped with M6 threads.

Love those new X mounts. So sturdy looking. Nice job on the build.

Wow! This looks WAY better of a design than when I built mine like a year or two ago. Amazing evolution in the pro design now.

Супер! Отличная идея. Эти детали из алюминия можно продавать для самостоятельной сборки. Желающих будет много.

Hi Sebastian, did you not use a lower support block on your z axis at all? Makes sense I guess as its a ver short ball screw supported by the ball nut. This would definitely save some room. Was wondering how it worked out for you considering this is how you left it.

Awesome redesign! Thank you for sharing this time lapse. I would very much like to build the mini version. Will be grateful if you could share a link of any drawings of the all metal version.

Mostly bits from dreanique / aliexpress. The bits I use most are 6mm 1F and 6mm 3 F DLC coated cutters

Good job! Can You tell me somerhing about your stepper motor? Which type? And about motor controller?
@SebastianMusser
@SebastianMusser 4 месяца назад
Sure! I use nema23 closed loop steppers from “Lichuan”. The controller is a flexihal board from expatria.

I was just about to order my kit with a 4in wide gantry when I ran across your video. I like that the stepper motors and ball screws are mounted on the sides and not on the top as the original plans specified. Are there drawings available for the X gantry mounts or were they purchased?
@SebastianMusser
@SebastianMusser 4 месяца назад
Nothing is purchased. It’s all made on my printnc mini. Visit us via discord. There are some CAD files available

awesome build! Gave me some things to think about for mine! What do you think so far?
@SebastianMusser
@SebastianMusser 4 месяца назад
I did not really cut a lot with it yet because I had to build an enclosure first , but so far I love it.

Do you some how flatten steel tubing before placing rails, or just put rail on tube without preparation of surface?
@SebastianMusser
@SebastianMusser 3 месяца назад
I checked the steel for flatness and it was very good. Therefore I just put the rails on.
@starsolaris
@starsolaris 3 месяца назад
@@SebastianMusser do you check the resulted flatness level of CNC after milling some parts? The order of the numbers: 0.1mm greater or lesser for work area.

That is one beautiful machine! Do you think it’s rigid enough to cut mild steel parts?
@SebastianMusser
@SebastianMusser 2 месяца назад
Yes, I think that’s absolutely possible. Maybe i try it this week and post another video :)

Hi @Sebastianmusser. I've been looking through the Discord for the F3D file for the PrintNC Pro, but I can only find the V4 version. Could you please point me to where I can find this file or share the one you are using? Thanks a lot!

Is there any reason why you didn’t go for mirror finish on your parts?
@SebastianMusser
@SebastianMusser 4 месяца назад
Well, the printnc mini wasn’t perfectly trammed when I did the parts. And as it was freezing cold in my garage when I cut the parts, i just wanted the job done.
@arbjful
@arbjful 4 месяца назад
@@SebastianMusser will these imperfections show even after powder coating the part? I an asking cause my parts have similar linear markings ( but they are smooth to the touch). I could do a fine finish, but it takes a very long time
@SebastianMusser
@SebastianMusser 4 месяца назад
I think this depends on how accurate you tram your machine, the stepover you use etc, how sharp your tools are... etc
