This "hack" will keep your Prismacolor colored pencils around for much longer without having to resort to time consuming options. #shorts #Prismacolorhacks
You could just glue it to any brand of pencil that has the same diameter and then stop using once you’ve used up the last of your prisma. Then start using your new one as normal.
You are definitely not the only one who gets frustrated when their prismas are reduced to a nub, and to worsen the frustration is contending with those pencil extenders. I actually reduced my very first prisma down to a nub today and I discovered every issue that you mentioned in your videowith those extenders today as well. I cannot wait to try this hack...I love it
Hi Pamela, I heard of doing this doing this for my Prismas but it would work for any pencil. I’m happy you actually showed how to do it for new colorists. Take care.🥰
This is a great idea I will probably use. But what happens when that gets too small. U can’t glue it to another bc both sides have a point. U’d have to cut some for a flat edge which is wasting the amount u would’ve lost from the start, right? Or is there a better way?
Where can unsharpened Prismacolor pencils be purchased? I have seen a few open-stock Prismacolor pencils on Amazon that came unsharpened, but wondered if those were not genuine Prismacolor pencils.
Thank you, I don’t like pencil extenders either. Thank you for a great hack! I have been using cut in half McDonald’s plastic straws as Prismacolor extenders for years. I don’t know if Mickey D’s has changed their straws in any way in recent years, but I do have some super glue. Thanks again.
Very new to this, and I have a question. What happens when you run out of a color that you use a lot, do you have to buy a whole new set to replace one color?
Depends on the brand of pencils you're using. If it's something like Prismacolor or Derwent, or Faber Castell, they sell singles. You can look up your brand of pencils. It's usually for the more expensive sets.
This would work especially well if you use the singles that come on sharpened. Then you don't have a pencil with TWO ends that can stab you in the hand and leave colorful wax embedded in your flesh. (Don't ask . . .)
But you can only do this once, when the glued pencil becomes too short there is no place to glue a third one, ultimately you will have to use a pencil extender. Plus my personal presence of not having double ended pencils
What a great idea. That's what I do with glue sticks for my hot glue gun except on those I put a dab of hot glue. It enables me to use 100% of my hot glue sticks. I'm glad to have a way to now use 100% of my colored pencils by using super glue 👍
This was my first thought,, and exactly what I was thinking could happen putting the small nibs in the sharpener. I would only try it in an inexpensive handheld sharpener.
As long as you use superglue and it’s completely dry, it shouldn’t be a problem. I would use actual superglue marketed as superglue rather than nail glue. Someone above mentioned it didn’t work because they used nail glue.
@@PamelasPassionforPencils I did not use nail glue and this was some days later when i sharpened it down to the joined pencils. It was completely dry and had been for some days.
@@PamelasPassionforPencils you read my comment wrong. Super glue didn't work for me, nail glue did. Wanted to know what you used in the video, if possible please? Thanks
I tried this once and it just didn't work for me. Maybe I did something wrong? The glue is messy, sticky and couldn't wash it off my fingers because they stuck together. I had a small nail glue from dollar tree and that worked, go figure.
I can’t tell if this is a serious tip or if you’re trolling. Seeing the two colored pencils bonded together crookedly was like the punchline of a joke. Also you could turn this video into a drinking game - take a shot every time you hear the word “prismacolor” 😂
Great idea but since you already have a perfect good new prisma color, don’t you just use it instead of breaking it and putting on a different color pencil, even though you have a brand new fresh one😂😂😅
