Jack, for an irishman, that was a REALLY good southern accent. Not everybody in the south will talk like that, but a lot of people come close and the more into the countryside you get the more you start to hear that. Freakin' spot on, man. I can do a kind-of Irish accent, but I have no idea what region of Ireland it would be from. My Edinburgh Scottish accent is pretty good, though.
I love how Jack went through all that effort of doing the intro as a prisoner then when he gets into the game he was like *ohhh I'm a guarddd.* I found that amazing 😂🤣

What I love about the accent discussion is that it appears no one knows the US southern accent evolved from Scot-Irish and English accents. It makes sense that someone from Ireland would be able to pull off a reasonably good US Southern accent.
The way they start fires out of nothing and the way they just stand there doing nothing while almost getting caught on fire is so much like the ai in the sims.
I love how Jack got confused at the end with the presidential pardon and denied the request for prostitutes for the prisoners because the president didn't say it was okay

i met a guy that used to be a prison guard for 15 years, a really good dude. the things he saw in there nearly broke him. he told me that this game was making him feel like he was back working in that prison.

I love that even when Jack tries to do a "southern" accent he still sounds vaguely Irish lol. Also that when he tries to go southern he apparently wants to do ALL the American accents because he sounds like he's smearing his voice all over the midwest/southern divide. And who else is completely unsurprised that when given power Jack immediately starts abusing it? 🤣
Considering that his natural accent is as far from a Southern accent as possible, it's actually pretty good, lol. Although, I have to say, as someone from the Deep South (from Georgia), most people don't even have a stereotypical Southern accent around here anymore. It really IS predominantly the default Midwestern accent, but just with a slight twang to it. You have to go more towards Alabama or the Carolinas for a real Southern accent to become more common, because Georgia has pretty much just decided to cut itself out of the South at this point, lol. All the surrounding states are still the authentic South, but Georgia wants to be the North really bad. At least, Atlanta and the surrounding regions do.
@@Soleilune1995 lol I'm from Appalachia myself and these mountains are FULL of really thick southern accents. I've not been to Georgia in years but I know how proud the state is of being a business center so I can definitely see them trying to push their southern roots under the rug to look cool for the northerners lol. Sounds sad to me, though. I've never really been ashamed of my accent, regardless of how thick it is. In parts of Florida I've been to I noticed they no longer seem to have a southern accent, either. All the elderly northerners moving down there, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What makes me laugh the most is Jack isn’t an actor like Tom Holland or Robert Pattinson and yet like those two who aren’t from America he can put on a more convincing western southern draw accent than many American actors. Kinda funny to me.
The fact that you call Robert Pattinson an actor is what's funny. Also I'm from Texas so I kinda know a thing or 2 about southern drawls. He does an okay job. Can tell he's not a true southerner tho.
