this is excellent. so funny and clever. we need more mash ups. something like the love between franky and mrs davison. in the old style. or the old bea versus jacs holt.
I was searching for the old actresses from Prisoner and their reactions to the new Wentworth series and got this. I love it, very cleverly put together. Any more planned ?
Hmmm I like Wentworth, but it is not as good as Prisoner in my opinion. It would have been a far better series if it had been a standalone, modern day version without the use (in my opinion mostly detrimental use) of the original characters
100% agree. It was all supposed to be about the period around Bea first arriving in prison and how all that played out prior to the original beginning of Prisoner. But Wentworth went way off track and was too far fetched from the original. It turned out that they just used the popularity of the original show to try and cash in on their project. All the while, they just trashed the storylines of the original characters into completely different stories. It truly didn't need to take anything from the original show to make it a good programme. It would have been just as good had it not had any link to the original show, at all.
@@mebeme007 I totally agree! I had understood that it was supposed to be the period from when Bea initially entered Wentworth and would therefore have been a prequel to Prisoner rather then a remake/replacement for the original. I can understand how the new version appealed to viewers who had never watched Prisoner, but I think for many of us that know and love the original, some of the changes just ruined it (personally, I hated the changes to Erica in particular, and Vera as well as most of the prisoners). Yes, the only link it really needed to the original was the name Wentworth. It could have just been a new set of prisoners and staff in the modern day prison. 35+ years later, few, if any of the original characters would have still be connected with the old WDC. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Wentworth for what it was, but a true prequel or a sequel, I feel, would have been better than a 're-imagining'
