Prius is the best car for Uber drivers. 

I plan on going over 300K in my 2022. 58K so far.

I have 380k on my 2008 prius and shit still runs great

In Europe we have Mercedes and VW diesels going well over 1m miles (1.6m km). 400k miles is just the end of the "break-in" period for them.

Short trips are bad if you start the car, drive 4 miles, then be done. 30 small trips when the engine is at operating temp isn't bad whatsoever. Excessive idling is the only downside of uber driving and even then you can reduce it by a lot.

@@tipyouintheapp I’m waiting on my order to be delivered. I’ve ordered it for fuel economy and to replace my other vehicles in the daily role and take the abuse of miles. My 50 year old sports car gets 8 mpg and my 20 year old truck gets 12. I have a day job but was considering doing uber on my weekends. While i love the look over older ones, that backseat is making me reconsider either switching to a new hybrid camry or looking for a 2019/2020 ford fusion hybrid that would have the perk of already taken some of the depreciation hit.

But the older models are notorious for head gasket failures, as well as for some reason being expensive for battery replacement

I would wager that you do not drive 350 miles without a comfort break or meal break? If you scheduled your break at a Supercharging station, a drive could easily recharge their car if required?

No. I used to have an Avalon that was comfort. But a Prius just gets UberX in my market.

I average about $.06 a mile.

Mine is already at 88K miles.

Come on bro, if he makes 10,500$ per month and then drives this car every month like this, he will make good money or even 300$ per day, it's like 9,000 then you can drop mileage and ship car in Europe and sell for the same amount. Be smart, easy money.

The amount of miles these full time Uber or Lyft drivers are putting on their cars is just WILD………. to me. The money made goes back to heavy maintenance & parts sooner this way……later. Passengers are way too ungrateful for me to pour 100+K miles on my car

I put 29,012 miles on my car this year. I earned $30,744, of which, $7,419 went to expenses. So yes, we put a lot of miles on our car. But proper accounting ensures we have the money to pay for fuel, maintenance, and depreciation.

It’s probably the car he uses just for Uber duh.

I make enough money to cover the maintenance of the vehicle. The key is to save a portion of the money you earn.

So that means in 3 years you will be at over 300K miles and that’s when the back and forth to the car shop begins. I know you’re happy & you say this is for you, but I just don’t see how racking up 300K plus miles in 3 years is a good thing. These dealer ships are all smiles when you’re buying but when the warranty is up or things break down they wash their hands🤦‍♂️and want to skrew you over. I feel like you end up giving all that money you made back in repairs that came sooner instead of way….later.

@@tamarindo234 normally toyota gave you a warranty for prius 2016+ model for 250.000 km or 155k miles but you have to go to a toyota vendor for the repair / licensed workshop

By the time he's put 300k miles on it, he will have earned around $400k... plenty enough in three years to drop $35k on another vehicle. Name any business anywhere doing anything in which tools never wear out... it's just the cost of doing business. In 3 years, he will have worn out a 35k tool, paid maybe 60k on the very high side for gas and maintenance and repairs, and will take home $100k a year before taxes. You won't, because you're worry about wearing out a vehicle... ok, then.

It's ugly for sure, but it works and makes money. And yeah, the trunk is tight with the battery back there.

2022. 70mpg is when I do about 100 miles. They key is the first 30 miles are electric. I get to plug it in over night to get 30 miles of electric range. If it was gas hybrid only I get about 55 - 63mpg depending on AC use in the summer or snow tires in the winter.

Yeah. But wait till you get needed repairs! Tesla is $1,000’s per bill. No way! Prius is the best and if you are mechanically inclined you can easily do preventive maintenance for cheap!
