+Offended Badly Then Unsubscribed Where did you hear that? The 'shower' by the fire trucks, as well as a security escort is commonly done for dignitaries, and also airplane captains on their last flight before retirement. Escorted military coffins are commonly transported on regular commercial flights.
+Marshall Loveday Kalitta Charters is the only charter group that the military uses to being home fallen soldiers. You are right that you do sometimes see coffins of soldiers being unloaded from commercial flights, but that is not always the case as commercial aircraft have tight schedules to keep.
The four engined plane is a Lockheed jet star 2. There was an earlier version obviously the dash 1. Two ways to tell the difference between the one and two. The one, has smaller engines (louder) and the wing fuel tanks go equally above and below the wing. The dash 2, larger engines, and the fuel tank sits beneath the wings. I've flown both, great old birds.
I was going to make a joke about the old 737 @ 1:39, with the Pratt & Whitney engines until I stopped and thought, "I'm only wanting to do it because I don't have one." LOL. Loved the video. Thanks for your work and for posting it. Blue skies
Fender American Stratocaster Elite That was John Travolta's plane. He was given it for free from Qantas Airlines. He actually is a pilot and flew for Qantas.
I'm quite aware of that. He turned down the 747 they offered him before the 707 because he said he wouldn't be able to afford the upkeep etc. on the 747. He did a promotional tour with the 707 he was given, and he also is qualified to fly a 747 as they put him through the training on their simulator. A little history on me? I worked as a commercial pilot for 23 years. 22 of them in the bush in Alaska, and one year doing charter work in Florida. I've met with Mr. Travolta on 4 occasions down there. Very kind, very humble and he does have a nice collection of private jets. Hope this finds you well and have a great day.
My father was security for a VIP and looked after a private B707 for 3 days he ate, slept and lived in the jet and even had an amazing flight in it, cause the pilots moved it from Heathrow to Gatwick in 1978
4:42 I have never seen a Jet like that with 4 engines on it like that one, plus are those extra add on fuel tanks on the wings to make the plane be able to fly even farthur??????
Lockheed JetStar (that one is a JetStar II). Old airplane, a real guzzler, needed the wing tanks for decent range. USAF flew them, including for Air Force One when a big jet wouldn't do. Elvis had one, "Hound Dog II", it is at Graceland. Very few of them are still flying.
+Isaac Arnold That one is a production JetStar II that was built with Garrett TFE731s and most of the old legacy JetStars still in use have been re-engined, while im a sucker for the original configuration and loud smokey engines, at least she is still flying and much more of a fuel sip'er than the originals.
As always, great video, informative and engaging. Would it be at all possible to include some commentary... type, country of regn. etc.? Just a suggestion.
man that's quite a variety!!! great to see john travolta 707 still going and much more oldies like the DC 8 and DC 9 etc. and who operates that 747sp??
Chris Mayer One Saudi business man first bought one for 150million. Apparently he began a trend among billionaires and there's now several privately owned 747's. Also there is now a privately owned airbus A380 that is also owned by Emirati national that was bought for 300million. People are getting very rich nowadays.
Thankfully the answer to Kallista Charters was answered, as I couldn't understand why anyone would charter an Aircraft without windows. God Bless the Pilot crews which fly the Special Souls aboard. Was that John Travolta's Qantas Aircraft taking off? I gather, although you don't seem to have much, if any, British Airline footage. You adopted their Callsign, Speedbird, because it has a nice ring to it?
Yes the 707 was Travolta's. You can tell by the Tail number N707JT (custom-made tail number to match his initials as well as November (N) at the beginning to symbolize it is an american registration. Australian aircraft typically have "VH-" as their tail number
+Xeldinn Why? For that price you get far better experiences on land. A private jet cannot even begin to compete with a luxurious resort for example. Just fly business class and spend the money you save on far better experiences once you get to your destination.
Dovenpeis I am talking if I had hundreds of millions. Basically more money than I know what to do with is the only way I would ever get a Private Jet. I don't have a spare $40 million ;-).
I have not once seen a Honda business jet yet on RU-vid. Yep, Honda makes a jet cheap enough for people that comment on jet videos can afford, like us.;)
Honda business jet...after it got FAA airworthy certified..the words- 'cheap' will be disappeared. When have you seen the cheap Japanese car(s)....1984 may be!
you got every f*cking plane to the quad lockheed jet to the dc-8, 74sp, i mean what the hell? were you there during oldies week of LAX. (thank you for your service rest in peace and may god be in your soul)
