Or better yet abc or NBC news so all the elderly and older people that dont watch youtube and Netflix would no more about these types of scams you'd be surprised how many conservatives and older people even some of the younger conservatives dont believe a thing that's on RU-vid or documentary unless it's on the news
@@drd47rexx52 @biblical bro u dont know even the simple jobs like post card deliveries here have a scam in their background the police is paid not to bust the scammers so we always appreciate these action cyber security is shit here we need more the scammers handling of employes is also b ad the situation are worse that you can imagine
Amazing job, i can second that talking to victims is tough. They usually don't believe you when trying to stop them from being scammed. Me and my team did this by accessing tech support computers and monitor them for weeks. Keep up the good work!
@@VapeTime79 The fact is, i absolutely hate to admit it, because I'm an Indian, being born in the US, with my parents immigrating here in sometime around 2000, I know how convincing Indians can be. The fact that people still fall for scams and get mad at people who are trying to help them just pisses me off
Me and my family were on the streets because of this scam. We had money saved up to start a business and they took all of our savings from us. They are heartless mfs that exploited my parents. This is not a joke and it’s still happening
No. You gave them your money. While I have sympathy for you and your family, you have to take responsibility for your actions. Thieves are getting smarter and so we need to also get smarter so they won’t eat our lunch.
@octavio valenzuela they say that because it would spread awareness to prevent this from happening. Since the news refuses to cover it but wants to constantly talk about scam blockers that charger 5$ and don't work, this is the best bet they have to get out there besides spamming RU-vid. Especially since people like series like this even if they're fake.
@@IMakePeopleSaltyApparently agreed! The more people that can smell the bullshit miles away, the less victims there will be. One day it will not be profitable anymore and the scourge will end. This is the best weapon against the scumbags.
@@vjay6667 Your comment is mean, 'You gave them your money', after a person says they 'have lost everything'! You seem to think you are so smart and untouchable! Arrogance! I doubt you feel any sympathy at all!!! When people are threatened with police and arrests, and they are elderly or immigrants, they really feel terrified! In their countries, they couldn't trust police.. The elderly aren't computer savvy, their IQ is diminishing with aging, are gullible, too trusting.. Instead, we need to seek to warn and protect them! Stop blaming them! I had to reassure my elderly neighbor several times that police wasn't waiting for him at home, while he was in the hospital! He was really worried after the phone call he got... Stop blaming the Victims!
Another baiter called deeveeaar tracked down one of the centers and actually went there. Not sure if they ever got raised though, because a lot of the cops are on the take. Not as interesting as this instance though.
An elderly female customer asked me where she could purchase Google play cards. She said it was for her uncle then changed the story and said it was for her daughter. She purchased a few hundred dollars worth. I tried to warn her that she could be getting scammed. She didn't listen.
because scammers prepare them for the situation :D they say that if the cashier knows that its fro ''business purpose'' they ll be charged 25% or something more ... so the ladie prolly thaught you were testing her to see if its for a business transaction .. YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST SAID WHAT HE TOLD HER AND IF SHE INSISTS SIMPLY REFUSE TO GIVE HER CARDS AND JUST GET THE MANAGER TO EXPLAIN THE SCAM
As good as these ideas are about making a movie or a TV series, I think that, once they come out, it would make the people running these centers aware of what's going on and would put these guys at risk of something bad happening to them or their families and would make it more difficult for others to come forward and help in the same way that "Steve" has been doing.
It seems so because I was scammed with the name David Luis of India .His name on Facebook was Ramcharran Mills he said he was a military personnel officer working in Syria most of the numbers he was using the code is 256.This happened in April 2017.i have sent thirteen thousand dollars us Currency through money gram with the name David Luis of India.
What’s funny is literally the day after your first video on this (pt 1), my husband gets a call from a lady with this exact scam. He laughed in her face. He didn’t see your video, we just have experience dealing with the real IRS and we know the real way they contact you and how they do it. Again 16 years of IRS contacting us for shit. Lol I showed him your video afterwards and he was like how can people really not know it’s a scam. Happy you keep bringing things like this to light. When I ran Walmart (I was a salary manger for 14 years) in the money center anyone sending money we had to ask what they were sending it for. You wouldn’t believe how many of my associates would get cussed out for asking. Some refused to answer and my people knew at that point they had to call me up there. We saved many people from sending money for scams to scam countries like Africa and India. Some just got pissed and probably went somewhere else (not Walmart because it’d be flagged) but still. Others broke down in tears when we saved them from sending it.
Waw! This is a really touching story! I actually scam bait many scammers to waste their own time and stop them from scamming people. This is a really good thing you did! 👍
3d Cantaloupe thank you. Part of it is policy of Walmart, the other part is seriously just seeing so many people getting scammed and not being able to stand by and watch it. Good job to you too for wasting their time. I do the same when they call me or email me. It’s fun to make them think you’re sending money but tell them you sent it to the wrong address. Over and over again. Lol 😂
@@SweetTea-Stephens I actually got chewed out working as tech support for an ISP and alerting a woman that she was being taken advantage of by a scammer in her email.
i was stuck to this video. this was amazing. honestly. you people are literally *SAVING LIVES*. for whatever reason, we indians dont get scam calls from other indians or any other country. we do, but its not as much as the people in the US or canada. it may be because they deemed us poorer than them, either way i dont care. You and other people who prevent scams are SAVING LIVES. And if there was any charity to donate to to get more people into this project and destroy scammers, i am sure you would receive overwhelming support. You are literally a life savior.
It seems my comment was deleted that is odd. I said this world is ruled by Satan the prince of darkness so unfortunately that won’t happen. In heaven though is my inheritance with God so I do not seek after this worlds goods.
What’s amazing is this is what we used to see on news programs like 60 minutes or 20/20 and now all that news seems to be is “trump trump trump” all day long. This kind of story is amazing and you deserve an award for it. These scammers (the big guys) are monsters and need to be stopped. Thank you for the amount of effort put into this! Keep up the great work!
I don’t get how people can get scammed so easily by these. They ask for western union mostly, if cash, and the recipient address is in India. How dumb can you get?
it depends on the person I was scammed with 1650 euros the scammer wanted to buy a motorcycle from me, I've never sold something online so he scammed me via "PayPal" it all looked legit so I lost the "transportation fee and insurance" to the scammer. And my monthly salary is 400 euros so yeah it was a lot to me but I've learned my lesson. Was I stupid? of course Will I believe again a foreigner who wants to buy something from me and wants me to pay the fees? never in my life.
You can attribute it to a few things: the elderly, mentally challenged and, well signs of the times. The media literally blows things out of proportion and stirs up fear, uncertainty, and doubt about your government wherever you are. And it's this same government who does nothing about these companies that pay crap wages to workers to scam millions from innocent victims.
And they use some people called money mules, located in all over the world so I've talked to a nigerian who pretended to be from Spain he knew the language and romanian and english, and the "transportation company" was located in Ucraine and the "insurance company" in the US so yeah I believed him and like a stupid ass I was I paid toes "companies"
they try and get disabled people, old people, people in distress. the have a low % of success rate. but by flooding everyone they sure get someone from time to time.
I wish someone had stopped my father from sending all of his money, $400k! It broke my father to find out he was scammed. He never recovered and died soon after. And bravo to the undercover for taking such a huge risk and saving so many families! Too bad we can’t ‘go fund’ him.
Youness Khader My father had done business in Asia years ago. There, at the time, you had to do a lot of bribing to get things done. So, this Nigerian ‘prince’ contacted him about this ‘money’ he had inherited or something like that. He needed to get paperwork done in order to get it out of the country and would give my dad a percentage if he’d pay the bribery fees to get ‘official stamps’ on the paperwork to get it out. My father was in the beginning stages of Parkinson’s disease and had started getting dementia. If he had been in his right mind, he would have known better and wouldn’t have given away all their mo way they had worked and saved for. If I ever won the lottery, I would most likely hire mercenaries to find that son of a butch and bring him to me to torture. God can forgive him. I can’t, and it’s not my place to either.
Oh my gosh.....I'm....so sorry that happened to you but tbh, i got scammed too and i was terrified for my life when i found out I owed "fake money" and that i had to go to prison and to court. Thank god i didn't have a bank account at that time since i was 12 yrs old
@@OniNoodleStudio you were only 12? Oh my god! I’m so sorry you went through that! These scammers are so awful!!!! I’m so glad you didn’t get into trouble because of them! Also, be careful about those online adverts regarding free products and no shipping costs. You never get the products and end up on the scammer lists. I did recently and have gotten soooo many calls from the ‘IRS’, ‘SSI’, and others now. 🤦🏻♀️
Surefire way to lose your only source of income. The boss will also likely have multiple accounts across multiple banks so that the money can't be tracked as easily.
I really wish this got more publicity other than just RU-vid.. Yes the news addresses it and the government or phone providers, but they really haven’t done much to stop them like Ben and Devon. I really hope to see this blow up so people know how to avoid a scam
I got these calls a few months after finally getting approved for Disability, I am glad I never pressed 1. Just the messages scared me and they called for months. I am glad you are putting this out there! 👍🙌👏 4:29😂😂😂
Great story! I still get those calls i block the number everytime they call. i will report it to the website now. i live in canada and we are still getting these calls every day everyone i know is and has got them. thanks again. love your channel
It just dawned on me your doing more than our governments about these scammers but one thing they can do, and I hate this but legislate that gift cards or codes for the cards need to be redeemed in the country in which they were bought. Not sure if this would work. But it might. I know with vpn it can look like your in one country but be in another. And there are American scammers that scam other Americans and Canada to Canada the same thing. Evil people exist but let’s do what we can to stop them.
Also the tech support scam started at the us first with americans operating it, then they got shut down and sued quickly so a lot of the comanies running that scam went to india and thats how it all started
I'm so hyped!! What the PI said about the emotional damage that it causes, is very true. Happened to me in 2015, I got scammed out of 3300$ by someone in Dubai. Never reported it because i felt ashamed and powerless, it did depress me for some time and to this day it still hurts me. My heart goes out to anyone that has been scammed. Thank you for this video.
Kudos to you for showing why they do these scams: desperation for a basic income. I wouldn't trust someone calling me saying "don't buy those gift cards." It all comes down to trust. It's sad that on the US many elderly don't have such a person looking out for them
The scams have deep impacts on the victims. Trying to intervene is not easy. Thank you for telling this story, Pleasant Green. 💞 Thank you 'to all' that fight back against scams. 👍✌
Honestly as soon as he continued with the call after the address I knew the scammer actually wanted to do the right thing. He probably thought I’d rather waste my time with this guy than actually scam
This man is doing what the us and Canadian government should be held responsible for and I applaud that! He took the initiative that our government doesn't
Unbelievable man. Your last video on this really tugged at my heart strings man made me a tear up for the poor girl who almost lost $96,000. You and your two co horts are saving lives. Amazing content "Ben" keep em coming🔥🔥
I'm sorry but if you fall for scams like this over the age of fkn 18, you deserve it. FFS why is it when I was 14 in the early 2000s, I NEVER FELL FOR ANY SCAM, even though I had scammers try to scam me MULTIPLE TIMES AT THAT AGE. Why is it the first scammer I encountered on eBay back in early 2000s as a teen, my instincts, Intuition, awareness, and common sense was FAR FAR MORE THAN 40-80 YEAR OLDS and I WASN'T GULLIBLE AND STOOPID TO FALL FOR IT EVEN AS A TEEN? Seriously people who get scammed at age 30/40/50/60, how can they be this fkn R3TARD3D? heck even gen z kids (the saddest most pathetic generation ever), ALSO fall for scams DESPITE having grown up WITH THE internet and youtube videos and their social media gods they worship and send money to monthly or daily on youtube twitch or patreon. Heck if they're stuoid enough to fall for the youtube "buy my chitty overpriced shirt because it's only available for a limited time and is 90% off from an original price of $1000, but now it's $100 for this chitty ugly shirt with my chitty logo on it that makes you look like a buffoon when you wear it in public however lucky for you most people see you and are so happy because they will befriend you for having a mutual common like of penis worshipping me and paying me online when they see your shirt". then they deserve it for being stupider at age 21 than I was at fkn age 6. I mean if even young gen z m0rons who SHOULD know better fall for scams daily not once but multiple times. It's not surprising if a 80 year old with no tech knowledge does either. I'm sorry but I didn't know tech either. We have intuition and common sense for a reason. But in America, common sense is EVIL for people, it's ALL about being conformist and being like everyone else, gullible, stupid, arrogant, thinking NO ONE will ever be able to scam them or fool them, and that's why they kill themselves once they realize their whole life they deluded themselves to think they're so fkn smart and "on top"
this is something i have dealt with, phone calls and emails but never lost any money, The problem I have now is that Canada has a lot of people from India and now i don't trust them when i hear them on the phone. and it seems to me that more and more people are sending call centers over to India for cheap labor. its to the point now where ill ask to speak to someone in French or Spanish and ask them if they speak English. I'm not the only one, I have spoken with some people who have become racist over the scams. Like just the other day the NDP Government had all of signs vandalized saying (go home f***it) and other slurs. the only way i can see this getting fixed is by holding India to the cost of the scams. Maybe then there police will get off there ass and do something. Great video keep up the good work
