@@yellowbird5 I'm fully aware of it, thou I'm not from the US I wouldn't joke for real at any military branch. I just enjoy the casual jabs throw for fun rather than diss on someone.

Is the dog supposed to actually be a metaphor for a sailor that bitches a lot? Cause that reminds me of more than one guy I served with. Or maybe sometimes a dog is just a dog.
I dont get the whole thing with the sailor chasing the girl popping up everywhere. I know theres some kind of period specific joke or reference there with the tune and the sailors way of walking that goes beyond just "a sailor chasing a pretty girl."
It's been a century's old wisdom that having a group of men stuck on a boat with only eachothor for compangy and then releasing them on shore somewhere for a bit with their wages knowing they will likely never see the place again.... well theres a reason the ladies of the night often set up shop within sprinting distance of the docks.
