Unrestricted access and never seen before spaces! Non-stop tour of the entire property!

I had the once-in-a-lifetime EXTRAORDINARY opportunity to paricipate in a private media event at @fondationmonet, the house and gardens of Claude Monet in Giverny, France. The property was closed to the public, and I had exclusive access to the house and gardens alone, to document the sun as it sets over Giverny.
At this time of the year, the actual sunset hour is rather late, 21:42 (9:42 PM). But as the soleil dips further along the horizon, we were treated to a delicious "golden hour" amongst the flowers, lily pads, and art of Claude Monet and his stunning home.
I had unique permission to livestream the event, and you, my darlings, are invited to come along. Now, there were a few moments where the cell service was a bit touchy, a couple BRIEF technical glitches, so I appreciate your patience and understanding that this location was in rural France with limited cell coverage. But I did my best to ensure you are treated to a special tour.
Enjoy!

This has been a beautiful hour. I just can’t imagine the work involved in keeping these gardens so happy and healthy. The fact that there are still plants flowering that Monet planted and painted, even after the gardens falling into disrepair before being restored, is miraculous to me. I loved the sounds of nature, the streams and water and the home. I found the house very delicate and whimsical. I could feel the breeze in the gardens. Merci Shannon. 💞

This should be at the top of your list - you’d love this experience as well as the entire village of Giverny.

The flower you were asking about is a peony....they are stunning & fairly easy to grow once you know how. I have yet to visit the property belonging to Monet, so thank you so much for the beautiful tour. I would love to be one of the gardeners caring for the plants....can you imagine enjoying going to work here every day?

Yes, DiAnn, you’re right. I read after the tour that Monet planted Japanese peonies, which I have not seen in bloom before. I find their drooping flowers to be so romantic! You would love to visit Giverny, I think. And YES…. What a dream it would be to spend the day as a gardener at Monet’s house. It would be fascinating to see what a day-in-the-life would be like, no?

@@ThisFrenchLife I'm hoping to go either the first week of October or the first 2 weeks of December. Those are the only times I"ll be in Paris. I may end up going both times as it would be interesting (as a gardener) to see the gardens at different times of the year. The rest of my trip will be spend gardening at a couple of chateau's & wandering around the country. You could totally plant some Peony's at your cottage. They would be stunning in a small border area. Let me know if you do & or if you need tips. Thanks again for sharing the beautiful parks & gardens in and around Paris. 😍
