Agree. I'm 74 and keep saying the same thing. Andrew for instance. He may be an arrogant boor but he was a true hero during the Falklands War saving lives as a helicopter pilot unlike the Living Legend of Aviation who killed 25 chess pieces on his XBox in Afghanistan. Edward was King, for a few months. He abdicated for Wally. If Hateful Harry ever makes it to the throne, I'm sure we'd all petition for the end of the Monarchy.

But, Wallis isn't forgotten and Meghan will continue to be an issue until the titles are finally stripped and Harry (and the kids) are removed from the line of succession. For all of the hate that Wallis continues to receive, Meghan is worse and was terrible even before she met Harry.

Wallis had expected David to tire of her and to be cast aside. I think she would have married him if she could be Queen even through a morganatic marriage. This would only be possible if the British Establishment, starting with King George V and Queen Mary, were prepared to accept her. After the scandal broke, she had to flee the country and even urged the new King not to abdicate because she didn’t want the whole debacle to be laid at her feet. Yes, she did not want to marry the ex-King but had no choice.
