Recorded on Saturday, June 24th, 2023. This is a video of GSPiedmont425's 4/5 Thunderbolt 1000BT sounding for its first full run with blower. This siren is VERY LOUD! One of the loudest Thunderbolt's I have ever heard. The other siren you can hear in this video is SouthCarolinaSirens' Whelen Vortex R3 running for its weekly test. This siren's chopper is set on termimal 4 (Note: they did not change the chopper terminal level before the attack test.) GSPiedmont425 owns this 4/5 Thunderbolt head, while the blower is SouthCarolinaSirens' Thunderbolt 1003's blower. GSPiedmont425 bought this siren recently. This siren came from West Shore Services in Allendale, MI. I met up with GSPiedmont425, SouthCarolinaSirens, and WSProductions.
Siren: Federal Sign and Signal Thunderbolt
Model: 1000BT (head was converted from a 1000AT to 1000BT)
Year: 1957 or 1958
Port: 4/5
Chopper Termimal 4
Blower: Series A2 4M
Siren Control Timer: FC
Recorded by:
Canon Rebel EOS T7 1500D
Panasonic HC-V180K

The fact that you pulled out this out of the depths of WSS and had it running in the same week is crazy.

Ah this is the one that i have seen in some West Shore tour videos! I somehow guess it was a 4/5 lol. My god that attack signal is perfect and amazing! Very beastly Thunderbolt.

Very likely from Hamilton County, OH. Probably replaced by one of the SRNs West Shore installed there in the 90s or early 2000s. Especially the fact that it has a 1957 serial which we know that they got a batch of 4/5s in 1957

The blower came from a nuclear power plant somewhere in the Carolinas, although it’s usually paired to a 1003 that’s apparently Ex-Little Rock, Arkansas but could actually be from Pine Bluff Arsenal, also in Arkansas to my understanding
