I love that no matter which window vantage point you look out upon the garden, there is a beautiful and unique combination of trees and greenery. Though it is a communal space, each of the homes has it's own mini garden space and wonderful outlook

Watching the master consider the garden from various places from which it will be viewed from within the building is yet another example of the care with which the entire project is completed. The result is so beautiful. Thank you.

I was introduced here in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, to Japanese gardening by an old man neighbor. His 30 year old bamboo was 30 feet tall towering over the fence in my back yard. I'd be moving fast mowing my grass with a reel mower. BOOM! A bamboo shoot jammed it up with bone breaking force. Not only I suffered... Two yards in all directions all had bamboo, too. I loved that bamboo in winter. The snow and ice bent it into a long tunnel. I made flutes, wind chimes and other stuff.

Another great video of a great design with fantastic craftsmanship. Such a pleasure to watch experts at work. Congratulations to them. Loved the glimpses of the surrounding three houses. Amazed at how many trees and shrubs were added especially with the central path taking up about 50% of the garden space. Loved seeing the stone masons doing such detailed work an all the hardscaping. Can’t wait for the next episode.

Just one question 🙋‍♀️ every time plan a tree I see the rope around the tree root and not been removed is that ok ?
@corneliusfriedel5579
@corneliusfriedel5579 3 года назад
Yes, it is ok. Because they are using natural material. This rottens and vanishes over time. This is optimal, because the rootball won‘t fall apart during transport or planting.

if it is natural fiber, it will deteriorate. Be aware that some nurseries wrap in synthetic fibers which do not, so it is best to remove if you're unsure.
@JapaneseGardenTV
@JapaneseGardenTV 3 года назад
As others have said, the cloth covering the roots is natural and will decompose quickly. There is also no problem with the roots as they will exit through the gaps in the cloth. On the other hand, if we remove the cloth, the soil attached to the roots will fall off, increasing the risk that the plant will not be able to absorb water and will die. This is how it is considered in Japan.😊
@josephinebailey
@josephinebailey 3 года назад
Why is it that the trees’ do not have their roots exposed to the soil but are planted with the hessian cloth and string? Surely this would cause them to be unstable when strong winds come?????
