@@aliyyenman6181 he would’ve won either way honestly he is strong & has muscular endurance from carrying furniture in a static position much like the locked wrist curl position in an arm wrestling match. That’s why no pro tricks were used like the other strong guys yet this was his hardest match. I believe the pro reached muscle fatigue faster & wasn’t strong enough to move the big guys wrist into winning position even after leaning his whole body into the table lmaooo the big guy was so strong he levitated the table ☠️ & the pro
@@csavvthebarber3889 I never said the big guy is weak BUT still he cheated and I can turn round and say if the smaller guy was bigger or same size, he would've easily annihilate him, the smaller guy still put up a good fight against a guy of that size, otherwise the pro is still pretty strong, the bigger guy had all his weight and elbow raise technique which makes a big game changer
Yes he is proportionately a bigger creature. There's not much regular sized guy can do against a 390lb person who isn't obese. Cat vs dog. The technique and specofic strength did almost beat him though.
@@tomwalker8944 My grandpa worked as a concrete mason for 40 years. Back when there wasn't as much equipment to help with all the labor. I swear to God, he was the strongest man I've ever met. He could literally crush a guy if he wanted.
i been working in manual labour heavy lifting jobs for 22 years since i was 15, 40 - 60 hour weeks i don't consider myself strong. but people always tell me i am. i dont know if its really strength or proper technique or both. but i can lift more than people much bigger than i am.
Magnus really is a good role model even in the way he interacts with people. You see a lot of egos in this video and Magnus just maintains good energy and vibes. Also cool to see how he doesn’t back down.
I feel like most people were pretty cool about losing. Only the one dude was a little crazy and demanded a rematch, lol. That guy was a wildcard for sure.
Would have been better if he actually had fair matches it defeats the purpose when he has already won in the starting position before they even start the match
Shout out to this rock climber for lasting all those rounds. It is incredibly difficult to keep going like that. Anyone who arm wrestled before knows what will happen the next day after going for multiple rounds... yikes.
Yea and he knows how to arm wrestle, his hand was above most of their hands if there is not a big difference between you and and another wrestler most likely the one woth the hand advantage wins
I used to arm wrestle at parties a lot in high school and college, and I'll never get tired of how many dudes take it so personally and refuse to accept defeat at this very niche activity/ sport. I was never super strong, just bigger than the other person, but the amount of excuses when someone is losing is mind boggling. Guy that shows up at 12:26 is a perfect example

8:05 The whisperer is no joke holy shit. big dude said he’s 370lbs, and he STILL had to lift his elbow off the table three or four times, and tilt the whole table off the ground to barely get the win. Those sunglasses must be like +50 STR
@@thomas.861 he held his own for a long while and I recon could have beat him. But his opponent was massive and their technique may have not tricky followed the guidelines.
Magnus is a gent. His arms were tired towards mid way through the video as anyone would be, taking on so many. Once the arm starts to hurt, it's not a good idea to continue with other opponents cos it just exacerbates the stress on the arms and it can tear and worsen the injury. Strength is not measured just physically but mentally and in his attitude and demeanour as host. Thank you Magnus for the vid. You are truly strong as a man. As for the pro arm wrestler, ain't taking nothin' away from that bro.....
Magnus is cheating most of these matches. Starting unfair position no wonder dudes annoyed. He fought for fair start and still lost but fair game to him
@@wolololer I respect the guy taking the $40. Sometimes just knowing you can't beat that guy is enough and props to him for recognizing it. I think if it was me I'd be willing to give up the $40 just for the chance to see how strong that guy really was. I know I'd lose but that's worth it.
They started off with zero and something tells me these people aren't starving. So I'm assuming they were just asking for the $100 to test their might with the big boss. I'd probably do the same, depending on the day
Watching this a month ago was my introduction to armwrestling. Got me hooked and quickly subbed the whisperer, which lead me to Devon, who got me hooked even more and now I am paying for my very first Ppv match east VS west 9. Thank you Magnus and Whisperer for the initial push. Great video
This was such a great video, it had me smiling the entire time. Everyone was so respectful and positive and had great sportsmanship. The best part was when the 370 lb guy won, and his girl leapt into his arms. You guys absolutely made his year and he was so humble about his victory. 11/10 this is exactly what youtube should be.
12:23 that guy gave me really scummy feels, he comes off aggressive and confrontational.. He tried to start dirty, couldn't accept defeat, accused Magnus of cheating, keept invading his personal space and was generally twitchy af.
Very humble of him at the end to say the man that did beat him "Earned it for sure" without mentioning he was 370lbs and twice his weight. Great stuff guys
You two are great guys, and it is especially enjoyable to see you interacting with everyday people like us. I hope to see either one of you on the east coast near North Carolina someday.
Why are so many people impressed that he beat two guys literally one third of his size? And he's already training, moving fornitures 8 hours a day is more training than either Magnus or the other guy do. Plus he already knew how to position his hand, how to fight the wrist, and even how to move the elbow outside the mat, so he was just playing coy but he already had some experience.
I dont think people realize how much raw power the furniture guy must posses to beat a professional arm wrestler without having any technique knowledge (or maybe just rudimentary). Crazy strong
as soon as he stepped up i knew he had a chance, guy is built like a human clydesdale.. even before he said the answer to the “do you workout” question i was like “this guy is in construction/trades”.. but yes to take down a pro arm wrestler on sheer arm strength is insane
I worked with a guy built like that. About 6'3 320. I'm 5'8 150 his forearm is two of mine. We armwrestled it's pointless because he has such a mass advantage. It's like AAA battery vs a 12 volt.

Well, honestly fist bump is the most safe when there's like 1000's of ways doing this half shake/touch into a handshake move. Just let them see your fist, stick it out and stick with it. Awkward thing was that he constantly decided to change it up when he saw someone else wanted to shake hands or whatever. Always stick with it or else it gets weird. Even when they decide to stick to a half open hand I would just tap that still with my fist.

That one guy was absolutely HUGE. whisperer was nowhere near his weight class. There's hardly anyone in the world that can compete against someone that more than doubles their own weight. Impressive from that guy regardless though. As well as the display from magnus. Good stuff all across the board.
He likely would have beaten him if he tried from the beginning. Also the big guy committed a few fouls, but that doesn't take away from how massive and strong he was.
@@criticalmass8328 He let him win.. He purposely gave up his hand and played defensive multiple times on top of the big guy committing major fouls throughout. Just shows you how good of an armwrestler he is to be able to hold a guy likely double his weight and strength.
It was odd but probably one of the most safest positions at preventing bones from snapping. Possible bicep tear at that position though under too much force.
Magnus this kind of format is extraordinary : making other disciplines and experts look good and make it such a fantastic vibe reality show... You're killing it!
The big guy was such an interesting test case because it shows that there's this limit to how much technique matters when there's a strength gap, but also it took a humongous strength gap to overcome the technique advantage.
Yes but he would have been disqualified in a competition because he traveled away from the bag and also left the bag by lifting his elbow from it and using that strength gain.

When the guy said I deliver furniture, it made sense. There is training muscles, but work muscles don’t get to choose when they stop. They stop when the job is done, which makes them physically and mentally stronger.

Yeah. I was nervous about the Italian guy too. Even though he was all smiles he was being aggressive and not listening to E.T. when he was refereeing. idk. Just never know who you're gonna meet when you interact with strangers.
Naw magnus was cheating unfair start more than half of these matches climbing early, dude just wanted a fair match and when he got it accepted the result

I almost didn't click on this, because arm wrestling can be so dangerous, and I didn't want to cringe seeing a bad injury. My friend hurt his arm for about 5 days arm wrestling a guy who was 40 pounds heavier than him. Luckily he didn't break anything. But the arm breaks from arm wrestling are life ruining (don't do a Google search for Mega Man arm break).
He'd try. Don't think he'd be able to do much against both magnus and the whisperer. Definitely a sketchy looking dude with the way he acted. I was definitely puckering up when magnus kept letting him come in close.
Luckily I think there were too many people around for a sane person to try anything, and Magnus is really strong too. Wouldn't be a good idea to pick a fight. I do agree he was shady, I think he was kind of pissed off despite how "friendly" he was acting. Seemed like quite an attention seeker for sure too.
This one felt the most dangerous out of all the different muscle beach videos, both because arm wrestling can cause pretty bad injuries and because it’s an actual direct physical competition between you and strangers
There was 3 elbow fouls (lifting elbow of the pad) by the 370 lb pound man that beat arm wrestling whisperer. So everytime arm wrestling whisperer was in good position it was neutralized.

magnus is utilizing the tips the whisperer gave him, which is that he can win much easier by holding a grip that focuses on extending onto the thumb. The Italian dude, who you call a weirdo, is very much not a weirdo to me. He's someone who is aware of the basic structure of a fair contest.
That was a veteran trick. He was in a losing position, so he let opponents hand slip away. The opponent, instead of lettin it slip and resetting, naively gave up his position and you can see the whisperer immediately capitalized. Professional wrestlers often use that move, and it usually ends in both slipping away and breaking up. Then the judges has to tie their hands together.
I wasnt even aware that was legal in arm wrestling 😂…I thought once your hands and fingers are locked, you can’t un wrap them. I Learned something new today

Look closely at 13:48 how he resets his grip, to where his opponent is now palm up and he is palm down. Beautiful and seamless execution of that technique! Great performance Magnus! You being a professional rock climber gives you a huge upper hand, had you executed the techniques your friend was teaching you, then you would have won far more matches.
Basically its like cheating vs someone who doesnt know they could just let off his hand too. I think he could have lost one or two if he didnt do that cheesy ass thing, so lame
He releases the grip with his fingers and uses the opponents grip on his thumb to pull them into an advantageous postion then regrips. Its honestly pretty cheap and he's using the opponents lack of knowledge of the rules. A fellow pro would have just let go of his thumb and gone to straps or held onto the thumb and torqued it so he couldnt regrip advantageously. There were 2 more guys that would have beat him if not for this cheap exploit he was using.
We as kids did this, but the rules were never to bend the wrists, and to never use the weight of our bodies, - it was pure arms wrestling! You can see clearly Whispers move at 13:50.1 He bends his wrist and loses the other guys grip on him, while having all his body weight thrown in! Good video!!
Yeah honestly when I think arm wrestling, I think of those childhood rules that limit it to pure arm strength. But as a sport, I see now it makes sense to have that wrist/grip/bodyweight strategy involved in arm wrestling
