Matilda Söderlund (pro sport climber and technical mastermind) Pete Whittaker (crack & pain expert) and I tackle a very difficult boulder that we've set for ourselves. It contains all the different styles you can imagine, crimps, cracks and slopers, and is very, very hard. Impossible, even? We're about to find out.

lol she's a beast and might be able to do some of the moves on it, but that last move on BoD is absolutely not her style, i'd be surprised if she could ever stick it. still would be really interesting to see her try it though

I mean it's for sure a hit or miss. I don't think I know anyone who makes moves look more effortless than Matilda though

@@BradsSpace2 BoD is still 9A, I don't think Pete has ever climbed even 8C ? I mean, it was the same for stefano, but I think it's pretty obvious that stefano is better on this style than Pete.

Pete's mental game is just next fucking level isn't it. You could see from his angry pissed off look when he lost his feet on the crimps and had to hold that swing that he had decided that he is done fucking around and will now climb this boulder problem, no matter how if it actually makes zero sense like in terms of physics and rational world :D

Ok if Matilda DOESN’T go and try BoD then it would be a tragedy as it looks like it’s exactly her sort of thing. The control she’s able to maintain on those tiny holds is mind blowing and with BoD being such a short and intense boulder, I genuinely think she has a great chance of doing it

Watching Pete climb is always a pleasure. His ability to try hard is inspiring. Absolute shout out to Matilda sheer strength on display here was incredible. Goes without saying Emil is so strong, it's a rarity to see him have to try this hard in doors. Great video all round.

Matilda’s big advantage on the bottom is really her hip flexibility. If you watch you’ll see how easily she can open and rotate her legs around to keep her hips plastered to the wall. Add in some crimp strength and good isometric strength and you can see why she is so good at that style.

I think if Pete would have trained comp style bouldering or compression outdoor boulders early in life instead of going on a crack rampage (yes, crack rampage) he would have had the potential to be world class in these styles. So freakin talented in various ways.
