Scottish lad here started supporting Newcastle in the late 80s when I picked up the green n yellow striped away kit from my cousin after that I had the asics numbers blue away one of my faves I got the denim blue away a few seasons later recently I've got the retro grandad collar one and have my eyes on a few others I found this documentary brilliant a walk down memory lane but also the effort that goes into a kit is amazing as a youngster I used to love designing kits ( think I designed a few belter to be fair) I think they should go back to keeping the shirts for a bit longer as I think not doing that funds the fake market The shirts you produced loved them all they connect with the heritage and get people talking about the memories they evoke. Funny but right from the start of this video I was thinking of my all time favourite kit, and it was one I had as a kid, the bukta home shirt, I loved it so much I insisted on the long sleeve version with the bukta logo all the way down the sleeve, so I’d love your design of the trefoil on the home shirt ? Also the bukta 2nd kit the Brazilian yellow and blue was knockout so your third kit with the seventies vibe was great ! Gotta say I love the badge we have now and wouldn’t like to lose it, Sadly we will probs just get run of the mill designs but you never know 😊

I'd love one of the kits to have the opening line of the famous description of Sir Bobby's. It's the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in. your city just written at above waist level & dropping to the bottom, maybe on a black kit & written in shiny gold thread?

99-00 NUFC kit is the benchmark for me. Quality material. Lovely stitching detail between the strips. Blue trims with a classy collar. I’ve just watched the end of the vid now and I think what you’ve came up with up with is pretty good. I like the detail on the adidas stripes. If I was picky I’d say personally I’d have the stripes go all the way down on the back and I prefer royal blue rather than a lighter blue. Interesting idea for a project, nice one.

Great vid Craig. I’m a Liverpool fan but I can like and appreciate other club shirts if they’re well designed and executed. Love the idea of clubs using classic/historic crests, and manufacturer logos, as well as incorporating aspects of the clubs hometown and history into the designs.

Great to see the green and yellow return. My favourite strip was the blue Asics away kit, followed by Pav's Newcastle skyline 96-97 goalie kit.

For real man I'll definitely get that new home kit! It look strong and with the bodytype of the current players that kit just standout. The away kit (Ginola kit) well it look more like a rugby kit yah those thin horizontal stripes but the 3rd kit OMG! Total retro love the yellow with gradient, the Adidas logo running down the sleeve LOVE IT LOVE IT with that 70's font (insert Chef Kiss emoji) Great job Craig! 👏👏👏 #NUFC need to get Craig to design the kits ASAP!

This is a brilliant video. Your designs, as expected, are absolutely beautiful. That home kit is one of the best strips I've seen in years and the modernisation of the retro-inspired third kit is incredible. I've grown up as an Arsenal fan but watching this whole process was so much fun and really gave me an insight into the background of NUFC and the process that goes into such detailed designs... Would love a series of videos where you follow this process for other premier league teams. I'm sure you can improve upon quite a few of the current kits out there!

Personally I love the 3rd kit best as the badge brings back happy memories of being on trial with NUFC in 1976 and having it on my trials home kit at the old Benwell training ground!!

Can't believe I'm only discovering this channel seems right up my Street.... have to say was a cracking wee watch, really enjoyed it, the away and 3rd kit are a thing of beauty... particularly the 3rd kit, would love adidas to do a yellow and green kit, especially with the Brazilian connection we have atm, would be class, and I love the old badges on the away and 3rd.... adidas have played around with badges in recent years on the away/3rd kits. I.e putting the cannon crest on arsenal's change kits and putting the 4 leaf clover crest on celtics away/ 3rd kits, they even played around with man utds crest on this years 3rd shirt, so could be a chance they do something with Newcastles.... Have to say though not too keen on the home kit, don't like a kit to have more than 3 colours, makes it look like there is too much going on, would be better if you changed the blue trim to Gold, or just had the sponsor and manufacture logo white.... saying that great watch, keep it up 👍

That away kits is a belter! I know people say don't mess with the black and white stripes but I would like to see thin black, grey and white stripes in the style of Barcelona's 22/23 kit. Thinky you're onto something with the shorts too.

These kits are amazing. Adidas would be mad not to hire you as I think most people would find it hard to choose one and end up buying all three.

3 amazing kits

That home kit is well nice and I really like the gold. Away is nice and has really good detailing. Also has a great reality to the club. Third kit is decent but for me yellow and green isn’t the nicest combo unless it’s in a Brazil shirt. Anyway great job and I’d like to see more of these projects on the channel.

home-love the gold but I would keep the stripes all same thickness .The colar and cuffs I would also keep the same design (blue is good but shape or colar is strange).Not a fan of the nike style blue line and break in the lower half as it messes too much with the geometry .Love the stripes on the shoulders but would not be allowed due to sponsors today which sucks as I miss a full 3 stripe shoulder. Away-nice and clean but only flaw is the nike style triangles on the ends of the shirt,love the old font.3rd- by far the winner .Adidas are actually bringing back the trefoil for next seasons 3rd kits its rumoured.Love the pinstripe blend (similar to juve palace design).Love the shoulder trefoil band(again wud not be allowed).Only change I would make is use the colar design on the cuffs and add a thin black trim to compliment the new badge.Great job

You were talking a lot about the Grandad collar, so would have loved that on the home strip. Also, I'm not a fan of panels on the back of the shirt - during your research you were taling about wearing the shirts with jeans and I think name panels spoil this (the old one with the shield on the back for numbers was terrible for this reason). Love the third kit and the idea of three different badges is brilliant.

Craig completely gets it. The question is will Adidas go down this route or give us a template kit next season?

Great watch, really enjoyed it. Bringing back the NUF/sideways C badge seems like an open goal for Adidas. It's retro so it will sell; and (being cynical) it is minimalist and un-detailed, which suits their and others' apparent need to dumb down any and all iconography. Love the nods to the city and Wor Flags within the hoops. I don't usually like obvious copies but that one justifies its own existence with those flourishes.

the third kit is epic... the greens gonna go real well with the Saudi ownerships... a real modern kit with retro vibes

Not keen on the home kit, always think gold looks tacky and not big on the centre alignment either. The away ones though, particularly the yellow third kit, are seriously outstanding. That third kit would go down as one of our all time best kits if it saw the light of day.

Amazing. Personally I like stripes to go from collar to cuff, full length. Love an elasticated ribbed cuff too, hugging the arm for that retro look. Would be nice for Adidas to use the trefoil on kits like their Adidas originals line. Anyway, Beautiful design mate. 👏🏼 Edit: wrote that before i saw your final design! 😂 great taste eh

Excellent efforts. The away kit is absolute class. The third kit would be perfect without the gradient. The gradient makes it look like an apron. The home kit is nice in the front, although I’ve always felt the center stripe looks better in white, but the back is off. The curve at the bottom with white along with the big white block at the top doesn’t fit for me. The material looks amazing. I’d love to try it on!
