I was absolutely more convinced that someone was hacking Kyle’s computer that day than even thinking to consider Kyle was trying to control my screen 😭
Seth's beat sounded better. Kyle your beat was good too, but it sounded so stock.. Garage Band is okay on iPhone when you're on a short flight or something. Goes to show you that the right sounds/effects plus knowing your DAW makes a huge difference. Very entertaining video.
you’d be surprised what you can make when you have experience in garageband. when i first started producing i started in garageband for like 10 months before getting logic. i made some songs that sound amazing for garageband. obviously good equipment can help, but you need to be good at the basics before anything else
GarageBand for iphone is underrated. I make beats on my iphone and ipad using garageband and they are pretty good. Im not at kyle’s level but my beats aren’t that bad.
Of course I mainly record black metal, so “good” production isn’t always the end all be all. But I like to make breakcore and other kinds of electronic music, and I think GarageBand is super user friendly and really versatile for a free DAW. Even on the iPhone, I’m able to do almost anything accept compose midi using virtual sheet, which tends to be a bit easier for me than using the piano roll.
Ive just started at music producing so I'm an ultimate noob and watching how y'all think through things and put stuff together is like I'm being taught first hand how to make music. So thanks for posting stuff like this
Same, i made a mini beat today which was really bad after i was done haha i cant really get used to the million options and how anything works but it still is fun to just play around a lil bit in FL studio xD
you ever stopped and thought maybe the passion and energy you give off with music rubs onto the others that are around you and know you. you're inspiring the people you work with, more so than the people watching, and that's a beautiful thing.
Dam that might be the problem, why you mixing for 2 hours, I mix in like 5-10 mins, if you take too long mixing it’s gonna start to sound bad because you are hearing the same on beat over and over for 2 hours
@@menproductions4941 half and half I like Kyle but his ego is so big I can't avert my gaze. Like he kinda sh*t on Seth's beat and had to actively disrupt because he probably knew he'd be beaten. I think both beats were good. Kyle's sounded pop-ish and sorta uninspired. I think Seth's was bare bones and had basic structure (albeit decent for a noob) but his melody was fire I with a little more time that beat could be awesome. I think it would hurt anyone to have someone who edits your video outdo you, especially if you are way more advanced skill-wise and experience-wise
"I'm going to wait until he's really getting into a groove before I try and ruin it for him". Damn. With friends and colleagues like that who needs enemies?
Seth did better than I would have in FL. I've worked in million dollar studios, I've gone from Roland, MPC, ASR hardware sequencers to Cakewalk, Sonar, Cubase to Reason and I still haven't figured out FL Studio. However, my 18 y/o son is a beast with FL........Maybe I should have him tutor me?????🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤣🤣🤣
GarageBand can actually produce some bangers if you know what you’re doing. Also, the touch guitar and drums are top notch, so it’s a pretty easy way to add velocity and variation without tweaking every individual note.
amazing video, great editing, really was digging the process.i have been using garageband for over ten years, eventually in a professional setting making music for commercials and brands. all my music has been done in garageband and a collection of 25 midi keyboards.
ok i’m not at all familiar with this genre whatsoever and have never made a song but from an outsider perspective, seth’s sounded miles better, while kyle’s was genuinely just not good and his confidence throughout the video felt really awkward lmao
Yeah... Seth actually seems quite talented and comes off pretty chill and humble, while Kyle was just arrogant and didn't even really have a good beat at the end. Maybe he was just kidding (or at least I hope) lol
@@abox7935 Yeah made me see him in a different light to before. I saw a similar ego trip with Simon Services overtaking him since Kyle leveraged him to become successful. It's a nasty trait in a person having an ego or undeserved confidence. I mean he's obviously a good producer, but he was a fish out of water here and his editor clearly has some knowledge and capacity. At least a natural affinity.
As an audio engineering student who uses Logic daily, it’s fun to see you having some issues while operating lol especially after your workflow in FL Studio 😂😂 Love the video my guy!
For people wondering yes it is possible to make good beats on garage band. I started producing on garage band and at first it's difficult but once you understand it it's much easier. The trick for drums is to put one shots into the sampler so you can get better quality. Trust me DO NOT get de motivated if you use garageband, my most popular video on youtube with 16K views is a beat made on garageband and also my first few sales where beats made on garageband. I've now switched to FL Studio for obvious reasons but for people just coming into producing Garageband isn't bad to use.
@@21tangtang72 Mainly because of how easy the drum sequence is and also personally I’ve found that Fl is a fan favourite therefore having many more tutorials which make it easier to learn how to use. Also it’s much faster to make beats on Fl than GarageBand.
I been using GarageBand for years just because I don’t have time to invest in going all out with FL plug-ins, APK minis, and all that shit. Believe me, you can do some cool shit in GarageBand because you have the ability to sample whatever sound you want just like any DAW.
Haha this put smile on my face, back in 2015 I opened garageband back in uni, only used it for around 1 hour and decided I will never open it again lol 😬😅 lol
i think it would've been better if you didn't mess with seth (like moving the mouse or whatever), it felt like you were trying to add on to the story but it just got in the way, and it's a good story to begin with.
This was fun watching...I no know there's no excuse, you can make fire best anywhere. Can you make a tutorial trying out Afro beats? Like Rema and Wizkid type beat. Live from 9ja 🇳🇬 street dey here
When I was younger, I used FL studio for years to produce beats. After finishing university I started my career in software development and sold my studio. But ended up still making beats in garageband. And to be honest some of those sound amazing!
