I purchased my Pro-Ject Essential III (Beatles Edition) turntable about 4 years ago. After using if almost daily for the last 4 years, I will be giving an honest review of how well it has performed for me.

Did you purchase your turntable secondhand? This turntable does come with a 45 adapter. It also comes with an instruction booklet that shows you how to adjust the hinges. And that belt that you have on your turntable is not the correct belt. The actual belt for this particular turntable is round, not flat. What issues did you have with the Ortofon OM10? The OM10 is a decent cartridge.

I purchased this brand new off Amazon. Mine did not come with a 45rpm adapter though I am not sure why. it did come with a black felt mat. I don't think I said it didn't come with a felt mat. The belt that is on there is indeed round, not flat. It was the belt included in the box. After playing the OM10 for a couple of weeks the cantilever fell off. I did not read the instruction book, LOL, who does? Never needed to adjust hinges before on any record player and I have bought plenty of them new. But, thanks for letting me know.

Try a record weight to eliminate slippage instead of the mat

Thanx. Yeah, I have a record weight but that just adds time to taking a record on and off. I do use a record weight when the record is dished or warped. Otherwise, I am glad I have the mat

I use a ART DJPREII Phono Preamplifier. It works and sounds great!

That’s a shame you had to cover up the Sgt. Pepper logo on the acrylic platter. It looks really cool. Have you tried a record weight or clamp to keep the record in contact with the platter? I know on some turntables, like on my Rega P3, it isn’t recommended to use them. Is Pro-Ject the same?

I have a clamp but its hit and miss. Depending on how the record is warped it didn't always work.

Thank for taking the time to review this turntable. I ordered one today more or less on a whim. $250 with shipping and no tax. I will be upgrading the cartridge, but the price makes that an easy peasy Japanesey.

You're welcome! I got mine from Best Buy when they were running them for $199.00 which was a really good deal. $250,00 is really good. I am sure you will enjoy the turntable.
