Pro Looping Tip: Overdub Before Playback

Hi James, I used this looper pedal in a duo for a while and we connected straight to the mixer board which went to the PA. When I was playing acoustic guitar, I went straight into the looper, but with an electric I used a multi-effects box before the looper. Anyhow, the drum rhythms sounded good straight in. Cheers

So, by default the RC-10R puts an intro and outro drum pattern at the beginning of each rhythm. You can turn this off in the Menu options so that the rhythm will play without an intro or outro. That way you could stop the beat during your performance and kick it back on again without a whole intro. But, it's hard to change on the fly, so you'd probably set that up before you start to play and would do your performance without the intro or outro portions. Also, you stop the beat with a double foot press on the rhythm button which is a little hard. It's better if you get an external foot controller like the Boss FS-6 so that you can stop the beat with one press. Also, with the added foot pedal, there's an option to assign a Pause when you press a footswitch, though this only drops the beat for one measure.
