As a licensed massage therapist too, you can use a simple sweet almond oil from your local grocer. It glides well plus you don't need alot to be effective. Coconut oil is another great option too because it serves multiple purposes (moisturizing the skin too, etc). Happy massaging!

Yea I'll do both, all depends on the the routine I use to individualize their session

oconadamify I like to start my clients off in the supine position because most people have really tight pecs, which affects the shoulders a lot. So it just makes it easier for me to work the shoulders when they go prone, if I’ve already opened up the pecs

Me too! One of my favourite things about being a massage therapist is the quiet time. That being said if they need to talk about something I'm happy to listen if it helps them to let go of the emotion / stress. But I don't encourage mindless chatter

I got a massage one time who the therapist wouldn’t stop talking (till I flipped over, face down) and I didn’t want to be rude so I kept on answering her questions which were kind of on the topic of the massage? But I won’t be going back to her. Not necessarily from her talking but the massage itself wasn’t that great.
