At least US/American drivers. And yes there were some international drivers at this event and weren't really a threat in this class at this race. But keep in mind they've been locked out the last couple years and are just now starting to get back into being able to race in the Americas (which often times has different track styles etc.).
Congrats to Maifield and Tekno, huge win for sure. Obviously tough break for Phend, but there's never a guarantee he would've won without THAT particular issue. At least in Nitro Truggy, we see Maifield is driving the Tekno extremely well, and capable of winning against ANYONE on the track at the moment. And then there's Lutz and his Kyosho. Wow...honestly that's the surprise of this race, and in a way NOT a s surprise and Ltuz has been driving extremely well and having podium finishes in many recent races. Phend is an amazing talent and you can't win them all, it's completely unfair to expect any driver to win EVERY race. Excellent layout, it's good it seems like more of these bigger races are starting to incorporate more sweeper turns which will help our drivers perform better globally. Excellent coverage by LiveRC, really appreciate the multiple cameras and solid feed!
@@geejaysf I don't consider Phend checked out in this race. IIRC he had around a 9 second lead when he ran out of fuel, which is a "commanding" lead but hardly checked out. That's still a mistake away, at least from "commanding" to being nose to tail So how did Phend GET the 9 seconds? Most of that was from Maifiled having contact with Cav. Once that happened, Miaifled could no longer pace Phend. Considering that Ryan was able to take the lead from Phend in the race, although giving it back later, showed that this wasn't a race of Dakota domination.
