I can agree to this. Met him while working at MSR Houston at my buddies and i garage. They were just passing through town; he was still with Attack. We were the only ones there. We got to treat him and the team to some good ol’ Texas bbq but not track time. Great food and a bunch of laughs. Unfortunately, both of my hands were casted from a high side. Heard some crap from them lol but all in good fun. 10/10 favorite rider! Sorry for the 9 month late reply lol
@Jay Bonner MaxWrist Eddie is an average rider who couldn’t dream of catching any rider one quarter as fast as Josh. His claim to fame is passing unsuspecting casual street riders and then claiming victory as he runs wide in every other corner. 🤣
Nahh man, social media and seeing motogp, bsb, wsbk, AMA got me hooked. Im an avid track day rider now, texting this while im sleeping out of my car at a raining trackday with hopes of getting a race license. Watching it is fun, any professional series of racing is incredible, but being in it in some form, and actually trying/learning is on a whole other level. Hope i can get on that skill level someday, a big goal is to qualify for a TT race.
Best and cheapest way to go is get a small lightweight bike that's inexpensive and dedicated for track use. They're easier to ride and learn on. They're also way cheaper on tires, which is a major expense with racing. Any old SV650 or 500 twin...300...390...one of the best thinks I ever did was doing track days and then getting my race license.
@@raynic1173 yeah i started tracking my fireblade and as soon as I moved down to an R6 I went up two riders classes, it was insane. Ninja 400's lookin real good these days, as is an adult sprung kx65 for the minibike tracks.
@@ChaseN194 I went from 130 hp GSXR 750, which I assumed to be an ideal track bike, to a 40 hp GS500 twin and in three track days I was equaling my 750 lap times. Then getting my race license, primarily to get more track time, I dropped another 20 sec. by years end and was becoming quite competitive and even won one race. One of the beauties of the low hp bikes is you really crave corner speed. Which is a major brain and skill adjustment. Ciao.
Wish more racers were down to earth like you , luv what you are doing for the sport bikes it’s great that you pay tribute to what made you a professional racer and that’s Riding Motorcycles !!!
@@fishyfool i feel that everyone has their own ups and downs more than we ever know regardless if they look like they're living the dream. However, it is nice that Josh's life revolves around his passion. It's what many dream for. He has worked very hard for it. Maybe more than we reckon.
I was always curious if pro drivers/racers ever feel the need to "let people know what time it is" when people challenge them on the street. Or does that competitiveness only come out on the track
👍🏼 It’s Arai’s monthly latest new products and info email which is always badass! They even do a write up about you and the video 🤪🤪 I’m surprised you didn’t know lol! I can forward it to your business email if you have one. I’m a big fan from the beginning and have always watched all of your hysterical videos 😂😂😂 -Greg The title on that section of the email is “Arai Featured Video: Josh Herrin” Then “Check out the latest video from Arai Athlete Josh Herrin as he picks up his new Yamaha R1 and more of his crazy adventures.” 😎😎
Just watched Race 1 in Washington!! Congratulations on 2nd Place Podium Finish!!! Go get Gagne tomorrow in race 2 !!!! Its your turn to take 1st place! Make it happen!!!! Like you said post race, it’s 80% Mental!
@@joshherrin hi Josh. My name is Chris. Bro I realize you are a pro and a great rider. I have owned 32 litrebikes. Every brand and generation. The 2015/ 2016 is the most perfect machine you will ever ride. Trust me bro. Try one
I understand the reason for the 4500 mile rule on free tires, that's actually a really good deal for a lot of riders. But I can see how that might inspire a few riders to ride on really sketchy tires for way longer than they should.
@@blue03r6 I was able to get around 5k on several sets of Q2s on my 600s if all I was doing was commuting and playing around. Never took a 600 to the track. My literbikes go maybe 2-3 depending on the tire and riding I've been doing. I actually smoked a brand new set of Dunlop DOT race tires in one track day before. I think that was like 120 miles and they were done.
Sweet bike! Teach us how to slide it around corners AKA back it in! Getting 4,500 miles out of the rear tire of a liter bike is impossible! Riding on belts. Gas smells good! Cool video.
Congrats on the new ride! I love the R1 but I'm just too tall, my knees are flush with the gas tank creases and can't lean off properly with the stock rearsets. Also 4500mi out of a set of tires on a R1, yeah ok lol
Big congratulations to Josh on his new motorcycle. I like that you chose to include the law enforcement officers and the positive interaction they had with Josh and the camera operator. More of that needs to be shown these days because those are the majority. On a not so serious note I still think Josh needsto find the RU-vidr Max wrist and put him in his place on that BMW Iit would be interesting to see. Good luck to Josh on the rest of the season and with the new street bike. PS get him on a supermoto
Stainless braided lines, Brembo RCS-19, full exhaust, ecu flash, and suspension adjustment. Boom. track bike. Nothing more needed. Ok, maybe a set of rearsets too...
I’ll probably do attack rear sets, clip ons, triple clamps, brake lever guard, and lift mounts. Akraprovic full system, brembo master and lever with steel lines. I’ll probably have Attack tune it as well.
Love these vids and I just took delivery on my 6th R1 ('16) on Friday! Definitely the best sportbike I've ever ridden. If you're still reading these comments tell your peeps at Wheels in Motion to have more than just 2 pics of bikes in their ads/website! Ben a fan since you were riding 600's! Glad to see you back on a Yamaha!
I would love to only pay 4 usd / gallon for gas.. Price in sweden would convert to close to 7,25 usd / gallon. And thats like the regular fuel, not premium! :D
@@BEEBEE159 Yeah, can imagine. My grandmother lived in New mexico when she was still alive. Gas there was dirt cheap! But yeah, i think gas prices is the one thing that you would notice the most between europe and the US! There is a reason we dont have many v8 SUV's or trucks in europe :P
@@jakobgraan82 I'm not a typical American, myself. In fact, I am a complete outcast here. I don't even have a car. My transportation is a 250cc motorcycle, or my bicycles. I'm glad I don't live in Europe, though. Your governments are even more oppressive than the US.
He's always so smooth on the street, friends of mine that are racers never ride on the street. He seems like a down to Earth person.Someone I'm impressed with is that kid Kayla Yaakov.I think Josh Herrin knows her.Another racer I've actually met is Kyle Wyman.Another racer that is super cool.
I bought a 2020 zx 10r from wheels in motion. J C is a great guy. Wheels in motion is a great place to buy a motorcycle. Josh Herrin seems like a good dude. Best of luck to you bro
Blood mountain, seems like a serious good ride ,find maxwrist up there and and do some shredding ,bro sick little video, editing second to none, excellent 😎
Cool vid man. I could relate a lot minus being a pro 😂. Seriously though, I always wanted to buy a brand new Yamaha and haven't made that dream come true yet. I currently ride an 07 gsxr 600 and it needs some love; I'll get it up to speed as the money comes in. Be safe!
Could you do a video on how to make the switch from an avid track day rider to a racer? I would love to start racing in the twins cup in the next year or so but I have no clue the steps to take.
Way to go! I ride Aprilia RSV4, but I love motorbikes... I'll drink a shot of tequila for you and your newest family member! Hell... I'll drink two! You lucky boy!🤣
Great video!!! i'm watching your races in motoAmerica.. but somehow youtube doesn't publish the races anymore than they used to... i miss watching you race!!! Great Video though! More power and Ride safe!!
Josh, Im still waiting for the video on the upgrades to the BMW S1000RR. I know your with Attack Performance now so I get the R1 but is there anything in the future for the S1000? Also, it would be great to hear your views on the comparison between the two. Congrats on the podium at VIR!
Very creative the video game part! One thing I don’t get, not being from the US, is how can you ride a vehicle with no registration/number plate?? Can anyone explain please? 🤔
