@@johnbickford9563 agree. But the key word is different. Gronkowski got his on volume. Per target hes not on the same level. Basically Gronk was so massive he was safe from defenders.
QBS aren’t the most athletic. But they are the most impactful. When the coach calls a play in NFL or D1 college games, they are really sending in 2, 3, or even 4 possible plays for the offense to run. The QB has to get the the line, figure out what the defense is doing and make the right call what’s gonna happen. There are other reasons for QB being the most important position in football (even having tyreke or Travis does nothing if the person throwing the ball can’t find them and get the ball to them accurately) but I always found that to be the biggest reason. It’s like an on field coach
22:15 That player was a rookie "who paused" on his fumble recovery for a simple reason. He's young. In college football and high school football, on a kickoff if the returner fumbles the ball the kicking team can NOT advance the ball up the field if they recover. The ball is "dead" and they keep possession. In the NFL you CAN return that fumble. This rookie player simply wasn't sure he could return the ball until he realized the whistle never blew and players were still chasing him. Rookies not remembering rule changes of the pros happens a few moments a year.
Please watch the Chiefs playoff games from 2019, that was such a bad ass post season. Every game was a comeback and they were all amazing. Also, part of why Mahomes is considered the key to the team is that when he wasn't there, even with Kelce and Hill we were competitive. But once we got Mahomes we've gone to the Champoinship game at home 4 years in a row and the SB twice, winning one. They are all amazing, and all deserve credit though.
When Thompson stopped for a moment, it was because he was confused on the rule if you can advance a fumble on a kick off. There have been rules, such as not advancing a muffed punt, etc.Had he known, he could have had a TD.
The raiders used to share a stadium with the Oakland As! There is a cool video on RU-vid showing how they would go back and forth from baseball to football. Pretty sure the players hated it tho lol it was actually the last field like that.
they always say qbs are the best bc they like the heart of the team....like a point guard in basketball yk?....plus a quaterback touches the ball every play almost
GRONK: he isn't real fast and is all power and brute strength, weather blocking, receiving, or running after the catch, which also made him injury prone ... KITTLE: we all know he can block, but we still need a year or two, as he missed a lot of the last season with injury, and being the youngest of the 3 in his career to boot means he doesn't have enough receiver type route running stats to compare yet, but he has more route running fitness than Gronk, and he has the power / strength most times when he needs it... KELCE: (besides the records he is breaking / setting) first off, he plays smart and seems to flow with the QB (probably due to being a QB), he runs routes as good or better than most teams #1 receiver, he has good speed for his size, and he uses his size and speed as his version of brute strength, he is considered the third best blocking TE playing, even though he isn't asked to run block that often (as KC doesn't run like NE and SF), so a lot of his best blocks are downfield after a screen to the back or quick pass to receiver... Right now, Kelce is the one in his prime and in route to GOAT status, Gronk is still playing so will have to wait and see, but all his time injured gives Kelce the edge if he stays healthy and keeps this pace with MaHomes... Kittle is still a work in progress and hasn't hit prime yet, so he is the x factor, but for now, Gronk is holding very slim lead, but unless something major happens with Kelce, he is best one to take GOAT when all is said and done...
NFL is the ultimate team game. Often say were they good because of mahomes or visa versa. Its both, always both. Mahomes was going to be good without hill and kelce. And they would have been good without him. Together their legends. Alex smith was a solid QB. Mahomes is better and anyone with talent around him he will make better. It works in reverse for the great position players he has. But the QBs value comes from everything runs through him. His awareness and ability to think under stress. Is the difference between the right person getting the ball or even the right team. The QB is more so a coach on the field then any other position.
