I know this video is old, but the instructions from this Cognito kit clearly state to cut that bump stop down to avoid what you are experiencing. Further, the front end is high. The torsion keys were not properly adjusted during install. You can blame the leveling kit - but the leveling kit didn't install itself wrong.
The best leveling kit is the wicked customs premium kit it has spacers to drop the diff it also requires you cut down those bump stops. I had it on my last truck 40k miles road better than stock.
suspension maxx 3inch levelling kit with the fox shocks is the best on the market. keeps everything st factory angles. best thing I did to my truck and it rides better than stock
I have same truck as Danny (L5P). His looks great! I agree about ride quality with level kit. I put level kit on but left front a little lower (so, not true level) to keep ride quality... I do want to put an actual lift someday (garage is pretty tight so i am putting off for now...). I want to see Danny’s truck after it gets “fixed!” Hope you will do a video?!?!? Anything new on tunes/deleting L5P’s? Also, I would vote to stay with just trucks (I would keep watching either way though! :-)....
I honestly don't mind leveling kits just becouse I drive a 1984 Chevy truck that is a 4 wheal drive and there is not even a inch of down travel in the front, but when you put a load on the back it raises the the front up and makes for a smooth ride, but it takes about 8 thousand pounds to make it smooth tho
I have the exact same truck. Hopefully you do more videos of his truck or he does after this hassle he has with it now, you know get it back to where it needs to be and how he wants it ? I would like to add cab lights though, not sure if it would be worth the pain or have a dealership do it. Also, currently mine is stock and it has 295/70/18 Nitto Ridge grapplers. I don't see much of a difference in lifts. I was wanting to do the zone 5inch suspension lift? Input? What if I wanted to level it, what would you do, how would you do it? Max tires and wheel size? I would like to have air bags in the back with a built in air tank for them anytime and to air anything else up. Thanks for the video, just not sure which way to go about it now!
I would be interested to see some Bentley content. They generally aren’t my cup of tea but I recently visited a dealership and found myself impressed. Would love to hear your thoughts as an owner.
Most 20" rims for our Silverado's are $1K-$1,400 ish, tires another $1,200-$1,500.. that is $3K of that $4,300 and not many of us are going to get that much off of that price. Fox shocks $400-$500 and Cognito upper control arms ($400-$600), Labor and an alignment.. it adds up. If anyone can get 70% off of those parts that is amazing. That part about needing air bags for pulling my 33.5ft camper trailer was a great help as I run stock suspension right now and have some rear sag to my truck when it is hooked up. Thanks for the vid. Danny's experience is all too familiar and one that I explored early on, but have narrowed it down to just running Stock or I will do one of 2 lift options-- BDS 4.5" or the Zone 5".
Just bought a 2018 Redline. I will be towing a boat (5,000 lbs) or camper (7,000 lbs] often. I don't like the height of the stock Redline. It was suggested to me to go with a 2" 1/2 leveling kit on 33's for best tow and look. What would your suggestion be? Just started watching your channel, and love it!! This is my first truck
I put 3 inch blocks on the rear and I just backed off the nut a little on the keys for my old 2500. Also had airbags though. It rode a little stiff. I bought the same stuff for my new 2019 but 8 got just a 2 inch block this time.
I honestly don’t get lifting tow trucks. If you don’t tow yeah, but I just can’t grasp it. I would never want my Diesel lifted. But, your money and they definitely look great!
Thanks for the information, I just bought a 2016 Denali and had plans for a leveling kit, but now I see the cons, that 5" lift kit is probably gonna work out better for me.
Def over cranked to fit those 35’s. I have the kryptonite leveling kit with UCA’s on my 2018 and have plenty of room under that uca. I’m only running 33” MT tho, not exactly leveled with the rear but still looks good and ride quality is good. His truck def looks good tho 👍🏼
Tell him to get a ram then he doesn't have to worry about no a arms bottoming out and he could be like me I have a two and a half inch leveling kit and I'm running 37s with no rubbing at all on a 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 it's actually the main reason I went with ram I didn't like how small the tire you have to run with GM being that their fender Wells are square so you got to run a smaller tire like I'm running a 37 inch tire on a two and a half inch leveling kit with no rubbing and if I heard you right you have a 5 inch lift with 37s and it looks like from the video you had to do some trimming just sounds like you got to dump a lot more money into your suspension with GM to run the same size tire as RAM and Ford
Nice Truck. Great video. I have a 17 GMC 2500. I wanted to go down the same road as your buddy. His angle looks very extreme on the UCA's. My shops around my area recommend at least a thumbs witdth between the UCA and bump stop. I heard you say you have a fix. What is the solution before I blow some cash. thanks
I have a 1500 07 Sierra and I put the leveling Strut assembly and it rides great but yeah I see my control arm about an inch away from the bump stump , what can I do for a 1500 to give me room ?
All these ppl talking about your family having money without knowing how hard they might work for it, i am happy that your family can afford all , those nice cars and you are definitely an inspiration for me
Eddie you should do a towing test video with your toyhauler and that L5p :) and give us your point of view like the past videos you did with all them trucks
I have a friend with a chevy avalanche and their is a reason why he has a 6 inch lift now and not the leveling kit he had first and it's just not for it being taller
Question. If you already have a suspension lift and you just want to level up your front with torsion keys to make the truck look leveled would it still affect the ride or parts like cv axle or ball joints?
Alright tell me this Eddie, I have an 18 L5P and I just want it leveled because I cant go any higher with my garage doors height. I don't want to do shackles in the back because I don't want to change my gooseneck trailering abillity. What do I do....?
Hey Eddie got a question for a lift. I got a 2016 GMC Sierra Denali 1500 what’s he best 5” lift for it since they have the magnaride suspension in the back?
Eddie I have a 16 GMC Sierra 3500hd Denali srw and I just got installed today the air lift loadlifter 5000 and I feel like it rides like shit in the rear it bounces a lot and bottoms out over speed bumps, do you know why that might be?
The airbags will not give you a smooth ride without towing anything If you want a smooth ride you have to do full air in the rear and get rid of your leaf springs
Good videos man keep it up , hey what can i do with my 2019 denalli man i need a level truck, not lifted to haul my bobcat and toys around, any recommendations, thanks bro!
If you can afford it I would lift the truck if you can't afford it I would wait until you can afford it and then lifted truck I do not recommend leveling A GM truck
any suggestions what leveling or lifting kit for baby duramax 2021 gmc 3.0l duramax? I was told and seen a video of just leveling it using the torsion keys
The control arms have that ARC - GENIUS!!!!! -----> DUDE GET THIS ----> my 2017 rear diff - don't want to diff going around a turn - not always but it does it where the inside tire wants to keep up with the outside tire and it just lays rubber like a burn out around a turn..... I think I am finding out that it seems to do it - if YOU DON'T TOUCH THE BRAKE BEFORE THE TURN - the turn has to a bit sharp but not full lock - no where near full lock - is the diff on these trucks electronic in any way????? What would the brake have to do with the differential ???? Why would it do that ---> like its a straight axle - WTF - H E L P !!!!! No one has an answer !!!!!!
It's your choice, but I want functional improvements for my money. That just makes it harder to get into, kills the ride, and is probably going to wear out your suspension and drive components very quickly.
Wow!! Man, for about $5k, you installing it yourself, then getting the alignment from a shop, you could have done the LIFT, wheels, and tires. Then drank the lift for the same height but a great ride.
Victor Oliveira Finally someone who has Suspension Max do you have the Suspension Maxx3 . What year is your truck and how does it ride . I have a 2011 Silverado Duramax , stock torsion bars up 2 inches stock shocks . I have been wanting to go with Suspension Max but have not pulled the trigger yet . Give me some details on your truck , ride, Year etc . Do you have a pic of it . Thanks , Heber
Heber Clement III it’s a 2019 l5p bought it last year October, it’s there complete kit it’s there stage 2 kit I believe, also received there steering stabilizer kit, all works great, my truck is a dually, so I just wanted the front to come up about 2” and it’s perfect, rides like factory, those spacers are well engineered, still have close to if not more 1” travel on upper control arm. To bump stop, recommend for sure.
Victor Oliveira can you send some pics of your setup. I have a 2017 and looking to do the right kit the first time. I can’t afford the bad coil overs s new rims/tires, do leveling kit it is. Just wan one that works correctly and rides right.
When i was 16, i was driving a $70K tahoe, 7 seats, and i could beat almost any car in a race. could carry all my friends, pull a trailer, and had room for cargo. Still regret getting rid of it
Allot of folks pass it down to kids rather than losing it in taxes. God.bless them what ever they do for a living. I knew a guy who parents was fixing lose like 80k in taxes. So just gave both their kids 40k. Just way system goes. The kid with navigator parents probably wanted him in something safe and high and wont be drag racing laughed at if trying drag race in a navigator moms car.
Common sense will tell you that leveling kit is not properly installed , I have a 18 with the same leveling kit and I pull a 16.5k dry weight toy hauler from job to job with maybe a 1/2 inch squat in the back , but then again i done all the work myself at a 10th of the cost .
