This saw ru-vid.comUgkx84IcU5pbZd1Qrz8u4-YRLmJax7kdRi7B comes in handy in many ways. When I had a small (dead) tree fall I started the process of disposal by using this saw and cutting off the small branches. Then slowly work on the small trunk with undercutting and letting it fall down. With many trees on acres of land paying for a tree service can be expensive. It also is nice in that it can be used in hard to get areas like along my creek. It's also safer and quieter than a chainsaw. It obviously can't cut down massive trees but it does work fine for small ones or brush. And of course since I already own a Black

Ya, 1/4" ply is better, IMO. You don't lose as much cut depth, and the jig is much, much lighter. Note that being lighter can be detrimental in that the jig is more likely to slide out of position when cutting, but I always clamp it down (something I'd do even if the jig was 3/4" ply).

I started making a similar jig, but found that my depth of cut would be too small for anything other than plywood. Trying to achieve any depth with the saw results in the body of the saw rubbing on top of the jig. Its a great tool if your cuts are shallow.

How well does white glue (I assume it's PVA) hold on the laminate? Formply is made so nothing will stick! I made my jig from 3/8-inch MDF (9mm?) and also put a hole in one end to hang it by. I also wrote on the jig which saw I used and which type of blade for the straight through cut. I've been using mine for a while now and it's a treat to use.

Over here in Australia it is very common and easy to obtain. You can like you say, buy a regular sheet of ply and paint it black if you like the way mine looks. You can also use MDF and paint it black if you like 👍

And bam just like that everyone’s day is made better!! Thanks Uncle Knackers. Moth 💨 lol. That black ply, is the equivalent to melamine? With the price of lumber requiring one to mortgage their house for a project I want to get the right stuff. This need to make even more than the saw horses.

Made one of these with some scraps i had laying around...except i forgot to make the lower part wide enough to clamp. Now I have basically your model except if it was flush with the back of the upper guard board and my motor of my saw hits the clamps when I get to the end of the cut...gonna brain storm some fixes. I think I'll remove some of the bottom material underneath, add a longer piece in its place and screw and countersink it on so I can have some little "tabs" to clamp on. Thanks for the inspiration though! basically the same as a track saw and didn't have to spend like $600 to get one! Do you get that black covered plywood in 4x8sheets? everything looks nice when made from that stuff and i'm guessing the smooth surface is helpful as well!

Another great video there! I'd love to use that coated plywood you use. I'm not sure how much it costs you, but an 8x4 sheet in the UK is about £100, so around 175 Australian Dollars. So expensive. Is it cheaper over there?

Do you have a video / explanation how you make your appliqué labels? In though I saw a how to video but I just cannot find it again.
@diyforknuckleheads
@diyforknuckleheads 2 года назад
G'day Marcel....It's nothing fancy, all l use is label paper that you buy from your local stationary store......you know, the A4 sheet of paper that is covered in labels that you peel off and stick to things like envelopes.....peel all those labels off and throw them in the bin. Once the labels have been removed you are left with a shiny surface and that is what we want to print on.....hope that makes sense ....l actually made a video on the process a few years back...Here's the Link to Image Transfer Video. The instruction starts around the 5.40 mark in the video. Good Luck!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--A-Un_X21lU.html......Good luck 👍😁🇦🇺

Will NOT work with certain Craftsman circular saws! The left hand edge has a rivet that sticks out which makes the blade not 90 degrees when placed against the factory edge.
