PRO SINGER & DJ WIFE'S first REACTION to ANGELINA JORDAN - GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD (Elton J Cover) 

I'm 66 years old, and it seems recently, that every song Angelina sings has tears being wiped away. Those tears are from a wide range of emotions, happiness, sadness, pride, amazement, and love, but there seems to always be tears, and I can't listen to enough of this young lady. I'm addicted. I'm an Angelina junkie.

Some singers use the songs to show what their voice can. Angelina uses her voice to show what the song can.

As in many other Angelina songs, you understand the meaning of the lyrics when Angelina sings it because she lives the lyrics like no one else. It was a great song in the 70’s, but you were right in saying it wasn’t beautiful. It was catchy pop music. Angelina makes it beautiful.

She is a gift to humanity. Her voice a privilege to listen to.

Every time Angelina performs live I'm astonished how humble, but on the other hand how confident she is. So many adult singers are nervous, or trying to find excuses to mellow the judges (bringing up sad stories)! She's just nice and grateful that she has an opportunity! She tries to make the best of it and seems to enjoy every second of it! It shows because her vocal chords are totally relaxed, which is exceptional! Professional and something extra!

The experience of just watching this girl sing is one of my greatest sources of joy. It's so beautiful! I, too, think this song is better than the original, although that isn't that unusual for Angelina.

I always loved Elton John, and this song is great in his version, but Angelina made it beautiful and melancholy. No matter how many times I listen to this, I get chills.

Angelina just does that she makes sure you know the lyrics and she sings so you feel them as well ,this girl then just takes you on a ride with her though out the song she is so amazing :))

It's not just her voice and style of singing!! It's how every song becomes hers!! She owns them when she sings them!

For me it is a beautiful performance by Angelina. Some said that it was a message for Simon because she declined his offers to sign with him after Bohemian Rhapsody's performance.

Bravo guys, you are not the first to say the stripped down version of this track reveals how beautiful the song really is, but you get my vote and thumbs up 👍🏻✨! I purchased Elton’s album Yellow Brick Road in 1974 (I was 30 years old at the time) because of this song. Elton’s original track was cluttered with lots of sonic wizardry, obscuring the lyrics, but it was and is one of my all-time favorites. Like her performance of Bohemian Rhapsody, Angelina slowed the pace and delivered the core lyrics in a simple and magical way. I love the song all over again. Thanks for your reaction!

At 4:35, Angelina: a) mimicks the sound of the owl in the woods, and b) pronounces, at 4:38, the word owl at the end. That is what I call to be a vocal music genius. Few people notice that she uses alot of transformative phonetics in her renditions, like here, but, above all, in her This Is A Man's World. Thank you!

I think this girl at 15 can already write her memoirs. Epic covers, where she arranges the music, she rewrites the lyrics and directs the orchestra - first ... second maximum rehearsal: good! Songs written and set to music by her. And even mysteries. Like that song she sang once when she was 10 because she didn't like the tragic ending, which in the opinion of many fans could have become a worldwide success. She sings reading the lyrics in English and this even at the age of 6, when I didn't even know how to read in my language. She writes a book at 10-11 years old. She designs stage clothes with her grandmother. Need more to describe a genius? I selfishly hope for my pleasure, that she maintains her creative focus as she progresses in artistic research and gives us other emotions. One: "fell down the rabbit hole". (Google translator)

So many people didn't know how good this song was "until" Angelina sang it. Why is that? The tone of her voice? How about her interpretation of the lyrics and then her soulful delivery of the song? The mechanics of soulful singing can be taught but, unless the singer is genuine and is able to feel the emotion of the lyrics and the message of the song the listener will believe the performer is "trying" to be soulful and even though the song might be pleasant to the ear the depth of the music is never attained. Angelina is genuine, so real that whenever she sings "anything" she (it seems almost effortlessly) not only is able to realize the true feeling of the song but is able to actually touch the listeners heart with her voice. Danny, the chills you often talk about, the tears you have to hold back, the words you try to speak and can't string words together are signals your heart is sending you. It's telling you it has heard something beyond anything it has ever heard before and it wants you to never let that feeling go away. Danny, when you are "reacting" for us part of you is "working". Yes, you admit you are getting goosebumps and that's how strong your heart's message is. If you listen to Angelina in private (have you?) away from your channel presentation I believe the smoke screen will disappear and you will be totally into her music and feel the warmth and emotion she is touching your heart with. Are these words from a "super fan?" I can understand that comment from someone who hasn't gone "all in" in regards to really appreciating what she is doing musically. Danny, allow me to make an analogy to further explain my point. A General in war time sends out troops on a mission that he believes could be disastrous. He has looked at the whole picture and realizes his order was necessary. He does not allow himself to consider the welfare of the troops except to wish them well and fight hard. If he made a decision based on emotion he wouldn't be very effective. But, after the war, a conversation with the General about that particular order would sadden him deeply if a lot of men had given their lives to the cause. I know, a rather strong analogy, but my point being if you listen to Angelina to totally take in what she's doing you will actually feel her in your heart. Danny, it's undeniable. Just for the heck of it surf around to some other reactors and take a look at some of the comments that listeners are leaving. A common message you'll see a lot of times goes something like this: "I'm a 60 year old man and have loved music all my life. I have never in all my years heard anyone sing as beautifully as Angelina! I cry every time I listen to her." Danny, I know you want to stay away from spirituality and I get it. But, I personally cannot believe Angelina is just a "nice story" and even a super talented kid. There are too many things going on which are impossible to explain and which makes you wonder, "What in the world is going on here?"

Angelina lets you revisit the original, but her interpretation is like hearing the lyrics for the first time such poignancy; no slight on Elton John listened a lot to this song as a sophmore teen; much gladness of the heart that Angelina revitalized this classic; simply refreshing though more melancholy in a good way. Kudos to your reaction.

Angelina is the Destroyer of Originals... given the option you will listen to Angelina's version, over and over. Is Angelina's tone what makes the difference.

The Yellow Brick Road is something from the Wizzard from Oz and it is importand to know that story -to nderstand Elton Johns lyrics and I have a feeling that Angelina knows that story.

I think it will give you a great view as to the direction Angelina is probably going to go with her musical career (IMHO). I think Bohemian gave her more to work with. I'm surprised you like it so much--it's all runs :) At some point you could do her take on Marshmallow's Happier, perhaps the greatest breakup song ever (which reminds me to mention her version of I'm Still Holding Out for You, I bet you'd like that one.)

This was a HUGE disappointment as a choice 'for her' - until I learned this was NOT her choice in the contest. This was Simon's demand that he and the judges hear a commonly-performed number, so they could measure "apples to apples". That's actually a huge compliment to her prior week's BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY performance (which is a frequently covered number, too) but hers was SO different that she was forced to do a rather standard and frequently stripped-and-slowed-down version. This is a good performance of a good song - but it is not breath-taking. It is not earth-shattering. It isn't even a different style than so many other covers have done. It's rather a standard version, albeit in her voice. But compared to the stylistic change of BOHEMIAN, then YELLOW-BRICK is, yeah yeah, been there, done that. When the judges forced her into a 3rd performance choice and smothered her with two other artists IN the same performance, many folks didn't bother with her winning or losing. She did not NEED Simon one bit. She sang in front of him ("I've wanted to do that (since age 3!)...") and that was enough. THen she signed with Republic instead of Simon's blood-suckers. GOOD FOR HER.

Good reaction but after you watch this you should realize you need to adjust the view of the artist. I believe if you enlarge it up and down more it will not cut so much out.

It’s a great song and I just parked. I’m going to listen to that with her thing in it and it is better than original. In my opinion how many percent is one and a half years of age her voice and she gets better and better and better better now that she’s 17. We’re gonna have some great music coming out.
