Whatever the comments here might suggest, I think the Russian guy Krylov deserve his victory. His hand work was good and he delivered quite a few punches on his opponent and had a few good kicks that went in. he seemed more consistent then the other guy and in my view deserved his win.
Its a "pró" taekwondo tournament with adapted rules, that was open for any taekwondo style, Daniels clearly rep WTF/weird light contact kickboxing style and the Russian is pure ITF, really didnt give a sht about daniels fancy tries and played pretty fair, no dirty boxing at all. Good win.
Raymond Daniels has background in not only tkd but he is also a full contact kickboxer at pro level. In full contact kickboxing, he is arguable the best right now.
@@region0706 pro tkd and pro karate fights became full contact, like kickboxing. However, even if rules may be similar, the style is still TKD, not kickboxing. That's what is different.
The technique has to land properly on body or head, not just a tap on the body ( this is a contact match, not a tap competition) clinches rarely land clear points. There are usually 4 corner judges that report points and see kicks from all angles - the main jury awards the points. 1 point for a clear punch to the head or body, 1 point for a kick to the body, 2 points for a punch or kick in mid air. 2 points - kick in the head. 3 points for a kick in the head mid air. 3 warnings - 1 poin.
Daniels is just more popular. However, Krylov won fair and square. ITF (Krylov's style) 90-99% of the time defeats full contact kickboxing (Daniels' style)
I've watched this video a few times. With all due respect to Krylov, it seemed to me that the judges were punishing the style that Daniels used [ point fighting ] in this match by not calling what seemed to me to be pretty clearly landed shots.
Abysmal performance by Daniels but he still won. Any sensible trainer would have sent him in a 1 year boxing boot camp. With proper boxing skils he would have been magnificent.
can someone explain how they get points...like do the judges have to press a button at the same time? cus either way they both got points and didnt recieve any at points during this fight.
Pretty cool looks like Ray Daniels needs to learn how to loose tho shame how people who are really good at the physically art often forget about the moral art.
Full contact TKD? No head protection or any chest protection. Opening themselves for serious internal injuries. I doubt these guys train and condition themselves as much as actual kickboxers or MMA people. Or boxers. Why risk it? Can't train the skull to accept kicks or punches. A blow is a blow. :) Just takes one clean blow...
This is ridiculous. This Krylov guy doesn't seem to know any taekwondo. Some kickboxing maybe. He is not able to change side. He always get hit with back kick. Daniels's back kicks are either weak or Krylov is a very tough guy. Or more likely both.
daniels was robbed. a lot of clean spinning back and side kicks that didn't get called. he should be following up after those techniques though. still stuck in point fighting mode.
Landed shots that went uncalled: Raymond's blitz@ 0:58,spin kick at 1:05,side kick 1:12,jump spin kick@ 1:23,right jab to the face@1:28,krylov's right roundhouse to the body@1:30,another Raymond blitz@1:48,another Ramond back kick@1:55,another Raymond right hand off the blitz@1:59,another Raymond right@2:12,answering Krylov left@2:14,Raymond spin kick@2:23,Raymond right hook@2:28...I don't need to continue. Raymond won this fight before the 3rd minute was up. He got robbed. Period.
I don't know. Took a look on at least 3 of your list, all seemed to be blocked. All though both are very good fighters in their respective field, this fight became ugly as hell, mostly because of Daniels point fighting style. In my experience, blizing hits rarely earn you points in a continuous fighting setting, because of the lack of proper retraction of your strike. Daniels strikes simply had little scoring power overall, and even though this fight was more brawly than anything, Daniels lost in my opinion
