Great Jon on this video. Very concise in the details needed to get rolling with a Digidesign 002 or 003. I have an 002 console and fought many of these battles getting it working in Windows 11. As stated, i could not get the control surface to work (which is a shame) but was able to get the audio functional. I quite enjoy the a/d converters in these interfaces for guitar recording. I am going to give OSX a shot to see if i can get the complete control surface working in Reaper. Thank you again for your work and i encourage you to keep posting videos. Very good content!
I actually have both consoles. The 002 is back in it's box in storage because when I upgraded to Windows 10, I couldn't get it to work right. I was wondering if upgrading to Windows 11 would make the 003 stop working? I kind of had to stay upgraded with my OS because I went back to college for VFX and some of the stuff we were doing required the latest programs. I hear rumors that I will never get the motorized faders of the 003 to work in Windows 11. I hope that's not true.
You're right, 003 and 002 console control does not work on Windows 11 and there's no workaround yet. The 002 console works best on windows xp, vista and 7, also on Intel macOS all operating systems.

Hi Great video!!! Been looking for a video to help me out, just got the Digi 002 console, thinking it would fully work with windows 10 , I wanted to use with another DAW like Fl studio. But from what I understand from your video, there is no control features only audio. It’s a beautiful machine though and would’ve loved to use it. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately, If the laptop does not have Thunderbolt 3 or Firewire, you will need a different computer. I left some links in the description recommending some affordable options.
You only need 1 firewire cable if you have a computer with a firewire port. Check the description in my video for all cable connections. I also show 3 examples starting at 2:06

Pro Tools LE 7 was last supported on Windows XP and Vista. You can install your Pro Tools LE 7 on a Windows XP computer or upgrade your Pro Tools license to version 2023 to use on Wondows 10. I got affordable upgrade options (links) in the video description. Email me if you need more assistance.
for some reason my mac doesnt want to recognize my 003 rack. downloaded the latest software and all. got it work on m y pc (not in protools but in davinci) so the software works and the 003 aswell but my mac and protools LE dont wanna know about my 003.
Hello, I have connected the digi 003 mixer through a firewire cable, from the input that the console has to the PC that has the rectangular input, (I hope you understand me heh), but I don't know how to configure it in pro tools so that I can use the digi 003 controls, what should I do?
Hi! I managed to connect my digi 003 console using a FireWire card in my Windows 10 pc. Everything seems to work, but: I can Control everything on the 003 from protools (Moving faders and knobs etc.) BUT not the other way around - when I try to move a fader it will not show in Protools and the fader just slips back when I let it go. Some Controls in the upper right can be used. Any ideas what could be the problem? The version of protools is pro tools ultimate 2023.12.0. Thanks a lot in advance for an answer :-) Sven
