I have a macbook pro M1 monterey 12.4, it didn't allow the extension to run at the end of the process, so after disabling the SIP protections it gave me the msg that the extension wasn't up to date and it had to be updated by the developer. I really wish I could make this work on my new mac but it seems that its not happening
Man this was incredible. the security pop up never happened for me. I had to go to the security settings, and go to "Details" where it listed AVID technologies as needing permission or similar. once I checked it, it then prompted me to restart. And then I was golden. Thank you so so much for saving my first interface! Now I can continue using it.
I added the original 002/003 Manuals to the description towards the bottom. I consider these units the best at-home Control Surfaces for Pro Tools considering the price. Put the mouse down and have some fun tweeking your plugins/session with your hands. Enjoy using the motorized faders. It definitely makes a recording/production session a-lot more exciting. Man after working with a digi O02 for 6 years I wouldn't work with pro tools without it I hate having to use the mouse to click click click it makes it so much easier I don't know why they even got rid of these units do you need is the control surface and the mouse I would never get rid of my oo2 but I'm having problems with my faders right now if anyone can help downloaded I downloaded the software patch and I can't get the faders to work or my mic input to show up
Wow this is nuts. I've been delaying moving to a separate interface and controller.....if I can keep my same exact setup I'd be so damn happy. So if it works now on 10.14.6, what happens when I upgrade to 13 Ventura or even say, 14 Sonoma?? When I upgrade, it's just a matter of following Jace's method to reinstall the drivers? Is that it? Awesome tutorial! Awesome! I've had hacks for every year until my big Sur... and then this came along! I had bought a Focusrite 18i20 and the thing was under warranty and they've had it for over TWO MONTHS now and i'm making a CD anthology for a major... granted, I'm working in a more austere studio than most, but there's no excuse for... SH** OVER TWO MONTHS, closer to THREE now... that's insane. I'm just gonna get a refund... I can't see any reason to give them money for their shoddy products, when I have one from FIFTEEN years ago that is kicking their BUTT... the only thing they had going for them is the PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE... and I friggin hate them for that. Like we thought they would give us at least the same level of technology as fifteen years ago!!! OMFG. thanks again!
I installed in my imac 2020, i9. I tried to installed in a mackbook pro M1, Everything went well but after "Extensions" I never got the popup for security saying that the application was blocked. I will tried everything again, but do you think I did something wrong? or M1s dosen't work with this? Thanks man.

I had the drivers on Mojave and upgraded to Catalina due to my waves plugins being updated and causing CPU issues on my maxed out Mac mini late 2012 I was concerned but now being able to still use it without the drivers working makes me think I didn't even need Mojave in the first place
Thanks for posting I have a 003 but have not been using it - I want the extra inputs to record live drums - I also really liked the pre-amps in my 003 - I will give it a go - I am running Monterey 12.3.1
You can use the 003 as a standalone preamp to add extra channels to another interface like an Apollo using the adat output. I just found that out I had a session I needed to record last minute.
@@OmniProAudio I had the rack one but I sold it over the weekend I'm gonna get the twin. I needed extra inputs a dude sold me the 002 for 60 I may just keep as a collector's item bolllll I have another interface I wanted mainly. I record Jazz bands and stuff!!!!

I just dug my uncle's old 002 out of storage and I wanna incorporate it to my modern Mac. Thank you for this video. Glad it was easier than I thought it was gonna be. Recording projects at home is gonna be a lot more fun.
Hey thanks for putting up this gold info. Worked well for me the first few times using logic/PT but now 003R and 002R don't get recognised in sound pref.The only thing that changed is I used a MOTU interface (firewire) a couple of times. Now I've lost the digi functionality. I tried all the steps again but still no show. Any ideas?
wow cant wait to try this out i hope i can still use it how i used to via adat that way i can only use it for the control surface functions and not the conversion

Jace this didn't work for me due to the system folder did not have a Avid folder & digi design folder. On junichiro video he copied those folders on the system drive. So I did that and it worked. Thanks bro

Thanks for the video bro, I followed your steps and for the most part it works, but I ran into an issue. I'm running FR Clarett + 8pre and I want to use the Digi03 Rack for more inputs and outputs for analog hybrid mixing.. I am not finding videos or information claiming that this is possible to do.. I got a signal when I use the Digi03 as the master but no sound and no I/O from my audio interface and visa versa if my Clarett is the master. I don't know if this sounds confusing because Its confusing to me..
I bought a used 002 moxer to use it as a standalone mixer )wprks like a charm). Since I'm a Logic X user will the mixer fully work with it (all faders, buttons etc) or will it just work as a 2 in/2 out interface? Cheers.

@@OmniProAudio Not here, alas... I can't seem to create the pkg folder after entering the: pkgutil -expand Avid\ 003\ Family\ installer.pkg pkg command. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? My 'Documents' folder is in iCloud, would that be the reason?

Pro Tools Artist works on Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura and Sonoma. It also works on Intel Mac computers as well. I'm running the Pro Tools 2024 on a 2018 Intel Mac with macOS Ventura at the moment.

Sonoma will be hit and miss depending on the mac model. Monterey is the newest OS you can use with the most stability. I'm currently on Ventura with no issues.
Hello! Excellent video. Thank you!! I was able to get my “digi 003 rack” up and running in Protools Studio 2023 in Big Sur. However there is something I don't know how to solve: When I close Protools it hangs and doesn't close until I turn off digi 003. It's strange and I've tried everything and I don't know how to solve it other than turning off digi 003. Thanks for anything help me with this.
Turning off the 002/003 after quitting Pro Tools is also the only thing that has worked for me. If I find out anything else that works, I'll definitely let you know.

I download the driver to my iMac, so I have to do something to install it in my hardware next? I’m using Protools 11 only. Not upgrading past that version. Using Digi 002

Been running a 2013 iMac on Mojave with a Digi 002R with Black Lion Audio Signature mod for a while. After resisting for a while, I updated to ProTools 2024 and lost ability to open ProTools at all. After finding this video, I decided to update the OS to Catalina, which is the last OS that will work on the 2013 iMac. I'm a bit confused about how to implement the instructions on this video since I already have the drivers on my computer. Do I need to reinstall them? How do I reinstall them from already being installed?
Hi, i am a man from sweden and have a 002 Console that i use as a standalone mixer in a PA system, Can you recomend what IMac OS and Protools verson thats easiest to get flavless working together After checking ads in Sweden i can find used IMacs for 100 to 200 $ from 2010 to 2017, with 8gb ram and 500 gb storage and firewire 400, IIs El Capitan best .? Just purchased new Mac Book Pro and has Ventura installed as OS. Any updates on getting the Digi 003 to work? I attempted following the steps provided but it doesn't work. Tech Support with Avid has gotten to be ridiculous.
Hi... I'm trying the same process with the mbox pro 3 on Ventura... After the process it recognize the interface, but when i connect there is no audio output on the speakers. Did someone have try or use an mbox pro with the news osx?
for some reason, this is not working for me on Catalina 10.15.7. i'm not getting the "Systems Extensions Blocked" popup. so i'm opening Systems Preferences --> Security & Privacy, but the greyed-out "System software from developer 'Avid Technologies, Inc' was blocked from loading" option at the bottom shown above is not appearing for me. i've tried this twice now, not sure what i'm doing wrong . . . anyone else have this issue?
