I read a few weeks ago about this Korean update, but did not get more clarity since then. Thank you LSFT for providing it today ! On my side, as I have the PDA on our newest LBX, and I would love to have it added to the NX, even though I don't use all its functionalities in the LBX : I turned off the steering wheel assist, but love the speed reduction. It brings the driving experience almost as "one pedal driving". Very comfortable.
I actually don’t mind it. It gently slows you down if you are driving up on another vehicle that is stopped. Which is what you are going to do anyways. Plus it’s regenerating my battery. All I have to do is the final breaking. I guess maybe it would bug me if I wasn’t driving a hybrid model! 🤷♂️
My 2023/2024 NX 350h has PDA and it is excellent in its operation and I would never turn it off, even if it is a little too keen to activate the braking function sometimes.
in my nx year 23 there is a PDA system. I was invited to Lexus service - modification of the front camera software. it works very well but not like in RX
2023 NX350 Australia just got front and rear camera recall for reprogramming. 2 different recall codes in 2 separated services. Did not get the brochure but I hope the PDA will be added to it.
LSFT, thanks for this video on proactive driving assist. We bought a 2022 NX 350 H about six months ago. Not sure if I have PDA as we are alerted when cross traffic is approaching. On a related but different note, we found that if it was snowing and a snowflake hit the front camera, we had a warning displayed that the ‘system stopped’ or multiple warnings that collision detection has been disabled or has failed. We recently travelled across Canada and if an insect obscures the front camera this message comes up and we were not able to turn on the cruise control. Lastly, I have a question about PKSB, I’ve found driving in reverse, sometimes PKSB causes it to jam on the brakes. Examples include a pedestrian passing by the rear of the car and after they pass (and are a couple of metres away),I start to reverse and the car jams on the Brakes without anyone behind the car, or another weird one is if a tree is beside the car in a driveway and suddenly the car stops, the tree is about a meter off the driveway.
If you purchased a 2022 in North America, you don't have PDA. PDA functionality is only available when using DRCC (Dynamic Radar Cruise Control). Yes - anything in front of the camera will cause the DRCC to not work and you do need to clean it up before it continues. Any snow or ice build up will cause it to stop working. This happens for all cars unless there is heated Lexus emblem and even the sensors need to get a way to not have any buildup. I have seen cases where PKSB would slam on the brakes when it detects motion behind the vehicle. Check the settings to see if you can make it less sensitive. The car is proactive to stop and rather have it working rather than hit the person. I know it's a bit annoying and scary, but the only way to change it a bit is to see if you can reduce the sensitivity of the PKSB. Hope this helps.
I would add to LSFT replies that we did this video on the LBX together not too long ago ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1AWw9MxcDfk.html
In our NX350h 2022 (Spain) it appeared after we got the recall for the camera, we got a new icon in the dash, I enabled the option, and the car started behaving differently... Maybe it is because we are not used to it, but we disabled it again. Apart of that I must say Lexus updates are strange... we got this, but we are still in the 1040 software version, and the car don't want to get updated... and we are having plenty of problems with phone calls (plenty of times android auto doesn’t play voice through car speakers), and of course still no wireless android auto.
Seems like North America did not get this update as part of the camera recall. Interesting that you still have 1040. I believe Jean-Marc in France has a few updates already.
@@lsft yes, there have been updates in Spain too, I know at least the 2050 version has reached the market, but my car simply doesn't want to get updated, in the dealer they say I must wait...
I have a 2024 NX350h F Sport S(Handling), series 3, which didn’t have the option to have the auto parking assist, now all NXs 2025 up get it as standard, i wish in the future they add it to all series 2 and 3 NXs as it’s just a system update as a the equipment will already be on the car.
@RogerDouglas-aka-DatDude you won't be able to add it as advanced park requires a additional sensors on the bumpers to get it working. There is an extra button to initiate the advanced parking. It's the same situation for me where my 2022 is fully totaled FSport, but advanced park was added in 2023. But there is no way I can get to the advanced park feature sure to missing hardware
I have a 2022 NX 350h in the UK which received PDA after the dealer performed a recall and updated the software (same as your viewer). I find PDA quite intrusive at times and have decided to switch it off for city driving. For instance, if a pedestrian is standing in the middle of a traffic island, PDA intervenes and significantly slows the car down. I also cannot override it easily when PDA intervenes erroneously. I assume PDA intervened as it thinks I’m about to hit the pedestrian. Perhaps the later models have better hardware that makes PDA more reliable?
@@lsft I've set it to intervene later but that's the only setting I can change. I test drove the LBX and found its PDA has more settings to fine tune. Yes UK roads are tight and PDA struggles when there are parked cars as well. It works really well in country roads and motorway driving though.
@@lsft Haha! True. I found it very intrusive. Maybe I'm old school, but the way I see it, if you need driving assistance from the car, you probably should retake your driving test :) Thank for all the informative vids on your channel. Very useful!
@@marekeos there are times where accidents could occur. Just not the right day. But I agree there is a lot of ppl on the road that might need to do the test again. 😂😝
