On the least of obsrvations noseband is twisted, over the cheek piece and it does appear she is in pain, in the rear

Is it just me, or is there something odd with her rear, left upper thigh/ hip muscle? It juggles like jello, as if it is unconnected???

Both flank/ hips have a bizarre action. It almost looks like displasia. After she works for a bit the muscles start to look better...

@@jobloggs7400 - so glad you noticed it too! Yes, I think she's hurting, watch her head - constantly up & down with her head in an exaggerated movement with every step, esp. in the trot. She's def. hurting, he needs to call in a horse chiro, ASAP.

@@mdee860 yup... her confirmation is odd, and I agree there’s pain. She doesn’t rear with this chap probably because he warms her muscles adequately prior to asking for canter, and he’s light/ has great balance ... but you’re right, she still bobs her head and looks uncomfortable. He talks about her bizarre neck / head extension... that’s not trained, so she’s trying to find relief. She’s such a good girl and wants to please but she doesn’t look comfortable at all :(

@@jobloggs7400 - agree 100%. Both her neck/ head is painful & her hips/ flank are 'off' making her legs odd & the muscle is behaving weirdly. She is a really good girl. Wish he would call that Ed Crowther (sp?) on RU-vid. Horse chiro.

Jack Lieberman- please read the comments & respond. We think that this horse is in a lot of pain. Please call a horse chiropractor. Painful for me to watch this video. The head bobbing with every step should be telling you something. She's trying to give you what you want - but she's really in pain. Also back hips & flanks are off.

Thanks for your observations and comments. Yes the owner had her looked at before she came to me. She had a lot of stiffness and was weak in the hind end. That's part of what I'm trying to show here is that many behavioral issues are from stiffness and weakness and it takes time to build the horse up. After weeks of works with her she came along nicely to where she could pick the canter up nice and quite and balanced.

@@jacklieser - hi Jack, and thank you for responding. Might be reason to shoot a new video 😊 I'm glad the owner had her pretty mare checked out, but if you read Sarah's comments to mine, she thinks pain, too and noticed what I did. She also made a nice comment about your balanced riding, light hands, etc. 👍 The fact that this mare "had weakness in hind quarters" tells me there was either fairly longstanding nerve pain as in pinched nerve that caused that weakness. I may be more sensitive to nerve pain because of my own neck injury/ nerve damage & recognize it in people & animals. I still think a chiro session would help her pole area & hind quarters. Even afterwards, it will take this mare a few days to figure out the pain is gone. I hope the owner considers this option as a Vet just stating "she has stiffness & weakness" is not good enough for a horse that is worked regularly or evened. Have you watched any Ed Crowther (sp?) video on RU-vid, horse chiropractor?.

That saddle pad is too long. She rears because she's in pain rookie😨
