Talking about reviews, reviewers, review sites and how I look at it. There's been a lot of talk lately about Black Myth Wukong and some of the reviewers have decided it is a good time to insert their agenda to discredit the game.

Mainstream reviewers are activist posing as gamers, I rely on RU-vidrs I trust to give me good reviews on games, like my man RPG Division. Much love brother, keep up the good work.

I've always loved this channel, I sort of like this new-ish video style. I will always depend on your build guides when I need extra help, but videos like this are informative and good, as well.

@@SpartanIH It's more to get a truer view on how the game runs and plays as they have less edited footage than reviews. I only watch the first couple of episodes, not the full let's play.

I appreciate your nuanced approach to video games. I agree that at a simple level, we don’t need to force an agenda in a game ever. Just make the games and characters that you want to make and who cares what other people believe should be included.

"Games are games, politics are politics". I strongly disagree with that statement. Minutes before that sentence you said it yourself, "videogames are a work of art", which I agree, but you CAN use art to express your politic point of view regarding something. That might not apply to this game, sure, and that reviewer was an idiot, but don't put every game in the same bag with that loose statement. If you played Papers Please and didn't think there was a political message there, you just played it wrong. And if you playerd any Mario and thought there was a strong political message there, you also have played it wrong 🤣

You're right. There are games focused on politics and that is absolutely fine. Those games can be viewed differently and more on a personal level.

Man. this is something that really has been pissing me off lately.. who cares about diversity in stories/video games.. and to make it a deciding factor is insane. The only other agenda that pisses me off more is that Green/Environmental stuff.. I love how companies go out of their way and spend money telling us this pointless shit.

I very much agree with your message here. Divversity doesnt need to be injected into games just for the same of meeting some quota, but its fine if the game happens to be diverse if thats the natural vision of the game creators. And we shouldnt boost the score just because a game does. Agreed. However, there are also a lot of reviews (usually player instead of critic) that actually decrease the score because the game is diverse regardless of the merits of the rest of the game, because of a counter reaction to the aforementioned. Thats also very biased and taints a games review and I wish you called those reviews out as well. Even if a developer forces diversity into the game, its still a minor aspect to the game and that game might be a 9 or 10 regardless - if it has good gameplay, story, mechanics, music, etc. I dont think everyone understands this. But a lot of player reviews will rate a game 2 or 3 no matter what just because the developers forced inclusivity, when that shouldnt really effect the overall quality much

I play games to immerse in other times and worlds. I don't need modern day fascism in my game. Me and many other homosexuals despise the whole inclusivity charade. I don't need someone to have the same orientation or skincolor to immerse myself or feel catered to. All these zealots need a reality check by being round up and put on a oneway trip into the heart og the sun 😅

You have made a bunch of claims, but explain to me why DEI is necessarily a "call" for "compliance, obedience, submissiveness and failing". You are abusing this concept through a one-sided lens that sound like it comes straight out of youtube punditry. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is literally what it means, and it's about the workplace, not media. Can't say I appreciate the recent trend of putting communists and faschists/nazis in the same bucket. Its a trend raised due to modern-day political situation mostly, not due to objective historical facts. Its a misleading propaganda with the goal to paint in black the current political opponents of the global "west", be that China or USSR (and by a "subtle" extension Russia) Other than that an awesome video.

IDK dude, the new Lara Croft is looking rather XY... like just about any other female character these days. LOL. It was only a matter of time that video games were to be infiltrated by corps such as Black Rock with their D. I. E. bullsh!t, since gaming has traditionally not been known to be a 'liberal' entertainment venue, so of course it had to be a target eventually. Great video RPG!

Okay so we are at the point where a Chinese dev releasing a game based on a Chinese mythical epic is not inclusive enough because Son Wukong - a literal monkey - is male and not female. I mean I'd laugh, but I'm not sure if it's tragic or comic.

Your audio is really quiet, same as the last 2 videos. But yeah I watch trailers but wait for RU-vid reviews and gameplay footage. Just got a 20 min gameplay vid of Kingdom come deliverance 2, and it looks pretty good. Also Warhorse studio's (KCD 1+2 Devs) are 1 of the few developers I would preorder. We need to support the right Devs

People can say political stuff and propaganda but at the end of the day, it’s a great game ;). I havent finished it but I am enjoying it. The difficulty is hard but not unfair. I am from the 🇵🇭 and we got territorial issues with the country whom I shall not name…but I got nothing against the developers of this game.

The problem with sweet baby inc etc is when they are involved it feels extremely forced. The story, the characters they're changed to fit a specific narrative. Games like Baldurs Gate 3 felt more organic because they had the option of choice to begin with. You don't need to force diversity to make a good game and if we put more elements of real life into games why play them at all?

Ive played Black Myth Wukong. My take is that is a playable game. That means ALOT in 2024 as in my opinion 95% of games arent playable these days. Sorry more like 99%. I think alot of its success has to do with its Chinese player base eg chines people are supporting a chinese made game with Chinese lore. For me, being as real as possible i give it a 6 out of 10.
