THE SOLUTION! step 1: unscrew and take off the back of the transmitter step 2: Locate the cmos battery on the motherboard (looks like a Button Coin batttery) step 3: remove it for 30 seconds and put it back in step 4: rejoice in happiness I had the same problem and couldn't find any answers online but then I asked some drone people and they say its a semi common issue with transmitters. Have a nice one!
Because they are. Theyre chinese and new. And the operating system is made by guys in their spare time. You really only see drone guys using them. Drones are cheap. Fixed wing planes are expensive in comparison. A radio system is not where you want to save money
Maybe try resetting the BIOS. Open it up, unplug battery, undo the clock balltery and then wait a few seconds then reseat everything. Also i suggest trying to use OTX campanion to flash the latest firmware and use a new sd card with new contents.
I guess Im asking randomly but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost the password. I love any help you can give me!
@James Terrance i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I just found the problem. the firmware is not suitable. So I opened my open tx software, plugged the radio into the computer, turned on the radio and bam everything went back to normal, so I updated the sd card and the software that the manufacturer told me to take in my case it is the model radiomaster tx12.
I had a very similar problem. Mine would not even show anything on screen or turn on. The lights at the top would flash back and forth but never boot. Note that I could not get into DFU mode or anything. It simply did not turn on at all. Lights flashed when holding power, after a few seconds... nothing. No lights, no screen, no dfu, absolutely nothing. With the battery out and internal battery removed, I plugged it into my computer. I got a single light flash at the front but still nothing on screen. I used the edgetx flash application and although being completely off it flashed the new firmware and booted up fine.
Hi Moritz, I have had the same problem - Radiomaster delivered a new mainboard...in parallel to the swap of the mainboard I started to play with the bricked one - and have had success repairing it. Some STM microcontrollers will sometimes (very seldom) corrupt the memory. With the program "StmCubeProgrammer" I erased the whole chip and loaded - also with the StmCubeProgrammer - the OpenTx-firmware to the transmitter. Next time the TX16S came up with "Emergancy mode" (at least some success, because my display was dead after normal switching on) ... then I loaded the firmware a second time - this time from the SD-card with trim-switches hold inward during switching on - since then the TX16S is working normal again. Servus, Hannes
I have also had this. I had to keep removing the batteries, replace them and 'wait' a while before it would boot. I also found, by accident, that if I switch on a leave it, it eventually starts!. I have no idea why. So it works most times, but sometimes does this. I have also found that if I switch it off and then remember I want to do something and then switch it on again immediately, that this happens. I have not found a fix, other than to remove my batteries and restart after a wait. I know this doesn't help you. Just letting you know that you are not the only one. Good luck with any fix. Let me know how you did it please! If I find a fix, I will let you know.
Hello, i'm not an expert, but maybe u've only a bad connexion with your "nap" inside"... have u open ur Tx, and verify all cable connector. I hope u resolve ur problem, good luck
By the looks of it, seems like you've got corrupt firmware in your radio. Re-flash it with the latest firmware and see if that helps. If not, I think it might be the time to send it for repairs... or if it's not too old, return it to where you purchased it and ask for replacement, a good working radio. EDIT: when you're reinstalling firmware... be sure to completely reformat your SD card, or even better, use different SD card for this test. Sometimes some SD cards might be corrupt as well. DO NOT use firmware file you already have on your computer, download fresh one, and the latest one from the OpenTX site.
@@moritzeinsele7268 - I also answered to you in JB's video, and sent you a link to another one of his videos. He actually shows some things with your exact radio. It might come helpful.
@@moritzeinsele7268 - also... you might think SD card is great, brand new, or whatever... can't be bad... but it can. Trust me, I've seen everything, 30+ years in IT sector. SD cards go bad more than any other memory storage out there. Plus, sometimes even brand new, especially from A-Data or Kingston, will cause so many problems, it's unreal. If you can, please use different SD card and try re-flashing one more time. It can't hurt, that's for sure.
@@moritzeinsele7268 - yes, they can. Like with any other electronic gadget out there. At this point, I'd show this video and explain everything you tried directly to someone from Radiomaster, and of course to the store where you got it from. If you're eligible for replacement, I would not wait a single more minute. I'd go straight there and ask for replacement. If you wait for too long, you might end up with "...oh, I'm sorry dude, your exchange timeframe just expired yesterday, we can't help you...". Do it like now, you've tried everything else and it did not work.
Dear you should open the radio and remove the soft flat ribbon cable from both side of motherboard and then reinstall it properly. Please clean the cable ends in order to remove any dust particle. I have also faced this issue of power button not working and removing the battery for shut down. I did the same & mine problem fixed. I hope this will work. You can also claim its warranty at RADIOMASTER website. Thanks
I’m sending it back for repair. I hope they can advise on the fix they did and I can pass it on. Unfortunately I haven’t the enthusiasm nor knowledge but appreciate all the comments. I genuinely believe this was a dud radio from the start given the issues already and the fact that it hasn’t really been used. I find it interesting, but disappointing that there seems to be so many of us commenting on a faulty TX16s
My main board go fried when plugginin the data cable... so.. when you plug in the data cable, only do it at the USB-A big end to your comptuer, not the other end. I sent it back for repair to a hobby shop; they fixed it, butit was back to some old firmware. So I flashed it to the latest firmware using Companion and it bricked again. Just get the lights moving and then stopping, and no screen or backlight. There are 3 ways to reflash it, but method one requires a working screen. The second is via Companion in boot loader mode, and the third is via Companion in DFU mode. If flashing it don't fix, then I can only guess it's a hardware problem. I ahven't tried removing the clock battery, it's abotu the last thing I can try. Radiomaster will be a d1ck about getting it repaired under 1 year warranty on their legit website system... you have to make a big stink in the RU-vid comments before they will see yo're being a big noisy wheel. And even then they drop the ball and have you send it back to a hobby shop, who knows about as much as repairing it as yo do... isntead of doing what's right,a nd sedning you a new radio, or having you sendit right back to them for repair. If they aren't geared up for repair, but are geared up to moving merchandise, really, they shold just drop ship you a new basic V2 pot radio if they had any clue, and you move your mods over. They won't. Then when they get your radio, just disassemble it,t est everything individual, and put the parts back int he bi to make radios out of... don't even bother with trying to set up a repair shop to repair them if that's their plan. Because sending it back to a hobby shop won't help even if they pay for it.
@@moritzeinsele7268 Damn. I just finished my email to the Radiomaster support. Quite strange, I stumbled across a couple of comments here on youtube from people having the same issue. All of them not older than a few days.
@@moritzeinsele7268 I got an answer from Radiomaster. They're sending me a new screen and a new mainboard. So if you've still got your old TX, it might be worth a try to ask.
