Before you try this, look underneath the radio, there's a rubber cover over a second USB-C port which is the actual charge port, the top one is for data connection :D
Thanks for that video! Got a TX16S Max just yesterday and all works perfect beside that Charging issue. Stopped at 7.8V. I have removed these components now and charging while turned on to monitor the (precisely calibrated) voltage.
Mines not charging from new. Had it a few months but only just got my battery. Is this mod safe to do ? What were the resistors for ? Thanks for the video I will be doing this later on
I think I am having a similar problem with my tx12. When i plug in the usb-c the power-on red light activates but no charging occurs. The battery voltage just keep going down till i get a low battery alarm. This neccesetates external charging. I would like the internal charger to work correctly. Is there a similar fix available for the tx12?
I’ve only used the internal charging twice, no smoke, thankfully. Can we check batch numbers or something. Someone above said it took a while to happen. What’s the problem? Won’t charge, or almost burns your house down? Thanks for the video.
hi thanks for the video , i just got the radio and this is my first radio ever i have never charged anythin related to lips or 18650 i just have one doubt how much should i charge 18650s (voltage) does this controllers stops charging batteries when they are full? what is max voltage and minimum for 2s 18650 3.7v each
If you have the later batches of the radio and it charges and stops when full, no need to do this step. At the bottom of the radio there is a label for the batteries. Should be around 6.4-8.4v for 2s.
If you want your TX16s to charge via USB-C and have the internal charging issue( mostly on the 1st batch of radiomaster tx16s), this procedure will solve it. But if you dont have this issue on your TX & its charging fine, this is not necessary.

if you plug your tx to the computer, it prompts on your tx whether USB joystick or USB storage. You need to select joystick if you want to use it on simulator.

For those of you who are asking, this is necessary if you're using LiPO or Lion batteries and it won't charge up to 8.4V. Mine would stop at 7.4 for some reason. After this it's sorted. This fix was suggested by the manufacturer btw and they confirmed it won't void the warranty.
what do you mean stop loading , do the leds go of and when you turn on the transmitter ist says 7.5 or does it not stop loading and go back to 7.5 again if it was shortly on 7.6 or 7.7 ...the highest mine was is 8.3 then next second it shows 7.5 again ...ist that the issue ... ???
