You're telling me the city built a brand new 600 million dollar bridge without adequate high definition cameras to snap photos of offender's plates so they can mail them a $1000 fine each time? Poor planning.
Did you forget about the summer of love riots foe two years? Did you forget the community will try and prosecute officers for any little thing. Why would they go after criminals with no backing from the community.
No cause no one does anything. If they give out tickets and take the cars, maybe then will they learn . Cannot have anything nice these days , these punks will mess it up.
Just put up cameras, a center divider and some barbed wire around the bottom of the arches. That way it’ll blend in with the rest of the city and the hype would die down.
How you charge people SO MUCH yet let the criminals run the city wtf are they paying for. No safety, no peace you gotta have a neck like an Owl to survive. Smh stay safe

people who do street takeovers like this ruins the car culture and gives it a bad name in the eyes of the public where a majority of people in the car community prefer not to partake in situations like this. they make it harder and harder to go to car meets without having half a police force ready to take everybody down for something
@@realrareap2420 you really don't understand unless your really in it which is fine maybe lame to you but there are plenty of other people who enjoy being part of it and enjoy car builds that make it unique and pleasing for other people to see
Working people have money. Criminals steal because they are too lazy to work for it so they don't have any money. The police will gravitate towards where the money is.
Now they just drive away when the cops go to pull them over. I've seen them actually chase the cops, kick their cars, break the windows and jump up and down on the cop car. When they DO get arrested they get no jail time, just a warning or fine from the judge. Sure blame cops for some of it but also blame "law makers" judges and the D.A. for being soft on these crimes.
Yeah the parents are the leadership of these bozos the kids belong to some parents why does leader ship need to step up something the parents can’t do it now if you want to leader ship in there they should get all those kids are all those idiots and put them down there we go problem solved not not leaders that’s not their kids
@@thxfornothing6753 You are correct, but unfortunately that ship sailed a _long_ time ago, and now the courts side with kids when either parents or schools try to enforce any sort of meaningful discipline on children today.

As a long time Boyle Heights resident, what annoys me is that a majority of those who do dumb the stupid doughnuts, burnouts, block traffic, all the stupidity, theyre not even from Boyle Heights to begin with. And if they are, then dude cut the crap knock it off, this our community.
@@jaysteve8048 - That is true. But over all it's just idiots that are not even from the area. Boyle Heights is a chill latin culture community. Boyle Heights rarely comes on the news as in murders, shootings, or robberies. The area is becoming diverse now bit by bit as I've been noticing black people and white people. But nothing problematic as the stupid people doing stupid things on a bridge. Like if you're going to do stupid shit, just stay home. No one wants it, no community, no one wants it. Just stay home. 🙄
It's a famous spot , it will not stop period , people all over L.A are and will come and do this constantly... the old bride had fame and now it's been renaud. Cruising zone
Why can’t LAPD just park a car there you get caught your car destroyed. Make examples of couple of people and guarantee this crap stop. $1000 fines would be nice too. It’s not rocket science.
You can give them a $1000 fine yes but when they go to court the judge will probably so sorry for them and throw it out. A friend of mine was supposed to do community service back in 2020 she just keep asking for extensions extensions. And all she had to do is go into office building and clean. Then I'm gonna do anything about it because this is what people were protesting against we're protesting against back in 2020. You can't bullying the police if you don't want the police. Most minorities are gonna have computation.
11' wide lanes, putting the concrete barrier between the bike lane and the road, replacing one of the car lanes with bus lanes in either direction, a 25mph speed limit enforced by speed cameras, and a physical divider between the different sides of the road should have been part of the original design. this is just another car-centric bridge that has predictably become a hotspot for dangerous, attention-grabbing stunts.
Too many lane barriers prevents any flexibility when for example there is an accident. You'd only need one car sidways and traffic in one direction would come to a halt for 30+ minutes. I understand what you're trying to acheive, but modifications just _can't_ risk gridlocking traffic.
@@d_all_in Actually, his proposals would encourage more people to walk and bike through it. They really should have designed it to be more pedestrian friendly, maybe add some planters? shade? it looks really nice at night but it honestly is designed like a glorified freeway overpass.
@@pulaski1 One solution is to use bollards instead of a concrete barrier separating the northbound and southbound sides. That way it prevents people from crossing over at high speeds, but at any time the police can lower those bollards so drivers can cross over in the event one of the sides is blocked. Also, plenty of other countries function with 1-2 lanes without shoulders quite well. Accidents won't be catastrophic and block the entire road with debris if the speed limit is reduced (to maybe 25mph, with speed cameras & traffic calming to ensure compliance). Also it's worth noting that with only 1 lane, the only type of crash that can probably happen is a rear-end crash, and it's unlikely to completely disable the vehicles, and the bus lane can always be used for traffic in the event of a crash.
@@d_all_in The bridge I described will carry far more people than today because of the bus lane and better bike lanes. Also there's no reason the speed limit on such a bridge should be more than 25mph, and there should be barriers between the eastbound & westbound sides, as well as the bike lane and car lanes, so vehicles don't go where they don't belong.
As everyone saying: Speed cameras. $1000 fines automatically mailed and if not paid within 16 weeks (8 paychecks for most), car can't get registered. Money should go to fund more cameras in areas where sideshows happen. And if you record 3 or more cars doing sideshows, you get $1000. Virtuous cycle for the community.
Yes, cameras and have law enforcement officers and city tow trucks available to block both ends of the bridge on a very shot notice. Ten-day mandatory impound of the cars, fine the drivers with reckless driving. And there will be no second time, guaranteed.
What’s the point? They are not going to jail. If they are, it will be zero bail. They don’t care about tickets, cuz they don’t pay for it, misdemeanor warrant will not be arrested in LA.
@@hotsaucebone It's usually enough for the cop cars to flash their lights, sound their sirens, and the cops inside to announce for everyone to disperse. People rarely need to get arrested at these street takeovers. They disperse at the first sign of police.
@@warmcozy yeah, in ur lala dreaming land maybe. Why would I listen to cops when I know there’s no repercussions? U see, that’s the liberal policy failed in America and everybody just turned around and expect cops to do more. Why don’t y’all allow cops to do more? In communist country like China, stunt like that will result in 10 years prison sentence at least, and they don’t have parole. If someone was injured or killed in result of their street takeover or have drugs when they are doing it, that’s capital punishment. And I don’t mean letting inmate to appeal for years before give them the pain free injection. I mean hog tied to the country side a week after conviction, and shoot them in the back the head with a 556 round. That will teach people how to respect public property and other people
No what they need to do is in town your car for 30 days and you have to pay a $1000 applying a $1000 fine and under no circumstances can any judge feel sorry for these people. And no one but the person that was driving the car can get it out.
Seriously, it's amazing how easy they made it for peds to hop up and climb up on the arches. This thing is going to be covered in graffiti in a month flat. So much for civic pride. What designer/engineer of a $600,000,000 doesn't notice that simple design flaw? Also, put a guiderail down the center of the bridge roadway. Donut problem mostly eliminated. You HAVE to design for the lowest common denominator driver these days, it's sad but true. Another thing: how are there no cameras on this bridge to document license plates? Even in rural Pennsylvania, we have toll-by-plate systems on ALL of our toll roads. You're telling me the great city of LA couldn't implement something similar?
Seriously.... When the videos of this BS are posted to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter they should have some type of Algorithm to take the post down or Flag the post. If there's no audience it'll stop. We need to hold the Parents accountable (if under age) and Social media needs to be accountable as well for letting that stuff play on their platform.
All you really need are cameras on the bridge and a patrol car with officers on both ends of the bridge to issue tickets and make arrests on the spot. Cameras can see people doing donuts or climbing on the bridge and the officers can arrest them as they exit the bridge, it really isn't a situation where the people can run away.
Who were the non thinker designers on this? AND what city personnel signed off on it?! If we novices out here can see the criminal and safety design flaws, why didnt they? 😡
Toll Bridge $5.00per car !.....for funding Police and maintenance. Cameras throughout to identify cars and drivers like the red light photo /identify system.
100% with Eric. Police should stop for ever this type of shit. East la always make a miss Saturday and Sunday. And most of the ppl coming from different city. Like Whittier city. Downey. Pico Rivera ect... Why they don't do it by where they live... 4real
I’m not from LA, nor Cali even, but at least put in some thing in the middle of the 4 lanes of traffic that is high enough that cars can’t destroy let’s say greenery while going over it, but not make the median barrier look like a concrete eyesore. That should lower the amount of idiots crashing and doing donuts and other assorted nonsense on the bridge
Exactly this is what they were protesting about back in 2020. You don't want to police stopping minorities. You don't want people getting arrested for a misdemeanor.
30 day hold on the vehicles that should teach them a lesson . You send them a fine they can just try to avoid paying but take there vehicle on a hold that will hurt more
*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !* _Tappin' in from South Central LA_ There's a time and a place for everything. And a crowded bridge is never the time OR place for idiotic "stunts" ! Take that sh*t to Irwindate Speedway !
This happened in Ft. Worth 25yrs ago. While waiting in line for a movie I saw a guy get pulled over by an officer on a horse and get ticketed. We all got a good laugh out of it.
Only certain people with certain cultures just can't have nice things. Everywhere they decide to take root, their offspring fucks up the entire neighborhood and turns it into a 3rd world country. It's certainly a culture thing and some people just need to cut out a part of their culture to at least look civilized.
why don't they just put a toll booth type license reader and operator's license reader to give access to the bridge??? pedestrian facial recognition, and plenty of cameras? then if you screw up, special prosecution... like lose your license, take your vehicle, hard labor for graffiti... astronomical fines for violations and use the money to help homeless people???
Goes to show us. There are alot of people in our city that just don't have self respect and city pride in our public works. Remember people. This is your tax dollars at work. Self respect is under attack!
These people don’t care I know I used to chill with a bunch of losers that shit rubes off, now I have less friends but better than enabling and contributing to ignorance and destruction.
Mad Max! Only one way to stop this madness but I can not say what it is. We are unfortunately devolving as a human specie and Graffiti was the beginning of this. Madness, Just Madness.
I'm certainly not in "the know" but I thought there were places where people can race legally? Why does the general population have to fear being caught in one of these street takeovers? It seems they're popping up in residential areas regularly? The bridge is not a residential street, but there's many residents trying to safely enjoy it. 🤔
Police station is less than a mile away. Bridge has 2 sides. I don't understand why they don't block both sides of the bridge when they get calls about this. This way the idiots can't drive away. Sure they can run away and leave their cars. So just tow the car.....
What that 6th street bridge needs is concrete k-rails until the state can raise the funds to put in permeated concrete wall down the middle of the bridge.
I guess LA is so desperate for public space it needs a bridge to do that. Bridges are for getting from place to place, not hanging out. And what are those stick thingies on the side? Are those bicycle lanes? Nice wide sidewalks there.
See what happens when the system takes the right to discipline their kids away. They grow up with the mentality that they can do whatever and get away with it. Shame on the system. Your problem now. Should of let parents deal with shit when they were younger.
Let it go. Keep cops and ambulances off it and name it The People’s Bridge. Let the locals maintain it. A great example of why immigration controls are necessary.
Simple if caught doing burnouts tow the car/truck if parked illegally give a hefty fine to avoid people from climbing also give hefty fines no warning fines basically big fines and towing of illegal activities if a car/truck is involved also creat a locking mechanism for both ends of the bridge place cameras so when police see illegal activities they can raise the locking mechanism that raise from both ends of the bridge and anyone watching the cameras can be relaying the information on who to tow and who to give a hefty fine and who was just driving through when the whole thing went down
That's not going to happen did you hear what they were talking about up in San Francisco. More than 50000 unpaid tickets for driving across the Golden Gate bridge
