THE Black Jack 42, is running a Poly Carbonate Hull. It's slightly more durable than the Black Jack 24 (ABS Hull) . My own early erk, was PRO BOAT chose to run a Smaller KV. motor, to keep the electronics cooler, running 8S . and 50-55 , MPH, on a stock prop. They could have easily gotten 60Mph, with a 3800-4000 KV, and running 3 - 4 S , and in turn, saved on batterer expenses. . THE Traxas , M41, took the same approach, with the Stock Setup. A modified Black Jack 24, with the 4000 mill upgrade , did 30 mph on 2S . and 63 mph, on 4 S. I like smaller boats, with a "lot of attitude. "
The Sonicwake issues that i HAVE is you only get about 3 minutes of run time if you;re lucky, that's why I have bought the new Black jACK 42. The props for the BJ are the same SIZE AS MY sONICWAKE.
I am trying to decide between the Sonicwake and the Blackjack. Local Store has several of Both in stock. They also have the 36 inch Miss Geico in stock... Hmm...
Dude... such a difficult decision!!! If you are new to boats and don't wanna swim for your capsized boat go the SW! The MG36 is the best quality boat out of those 3 thats for sure. The black jack is cool also.... I dunno I just think an MG36 trumps the BJ42. Let me know what you decide!!
Great to see a fellow Aussie on channel. That Black Jack is impressive. I have an M41 & Miss Geico 36, am thinking of getting a Sonicwake to add to the collection? Enjoyed your comparison vid mate, keep up the good work. ( VIC/NSW Border )
@@easternrc1924 Sure did. I actually picked up the sonicwake v2 today. With the upgrades they've done it should perform really well. Looking forward to giving her a run.
I used some 9000mah 3s packs with 100c and got steady 50mph runs with better handling with no flips. Also got about 12minutes of run time.Only have 5000 Spektrum 4s 100c and boat is very over powered and likes to prop dance👀
Awsome Boats! Im new to the Rc Boats, i just had Nitro an Elictric Rc Buggys/ Truggys in the past. I like those huge Rooster tails (fontains) on the back of the boat. Are there any things i can mod on the Sonicwake to get bigger rooster tails?
Have to agree, rooster tails are damned sweet haha problem with the sonicwake is you can really adjust the depth of the strut, only the angle of it, big roosters usually come from the prop being quite high in the water, go to far on this adjustment and the boats performance will start to be horrible. My advice, make the boat run good and you'll get the most enjoyment, rooster tails form nicely with a properly setup boat 👊
@@easternrc1924 Okay, thanks for the tip! Do you think the Sonicwake is the "best" 6s Mono boat or are there any other good options on the market in this pricerange? An hull would be for me a good option too because from the rc cars ive got teached that the Rtr Servos/ Motor esc combos are kinda overpriced and not the best for their price.
@@leo0528 the sonic is very good value for money imho but not the best mono hull by a long way. Stock electronics aren't too bad but the boat has to be setup really well to not cook the electronics. Id definitely swap out the speed controller at least for even just a flycolor 150amp (great esc for the price) Self righting is an awfully nice feature too, let's you give the boat a run in any condition with less fear of having the swim of shame haha
@@rcadventures4342 yeah ok fair enough, I'm keen to try a couple different ones for sure. Just gave mine a quick go in the 'pond's so much cavitation with stock!
Hopefully some of the other videos I've uploaded will scratch that itch for you mate. No spartan doesn't self right, but definitely has a different drive style to the sonicwake
@@nomusicrc I think overall the sonicwake is better out of the box, and self righting is a major bonus. It's electronics are better, already has a 3/16 shaft vs 4mm in the spartan. Spartan is a nice riding boat, but I don't think it's quite the same quality as the sonicwake out of the box
