RIP Eric!!! One of a kind!! My condolences to his family friends and fans, what a voice & talent. I will never forget this day. Eric was so kind & cool, we chatted for a bit, I was nervous being around all these legends & he was so down to earth. They actually set up & played in the TRL studio across from where we shot Headbangers, a very cool moment for heavy music! He will be greatly missed.
I had no idea Greg Anderson was apart of this song! This was the hidden gem of the Headbangers Ball album for damn sure! Disc two track 20 lol I still have it
Got to be one of the best metal tracks ever written and such a wonderfully tight live performance. The off kilter guitar hook and daves tribal signature lodge in my brain.
This is an amazing song and a fantastic performance and recording. I come back to this clip fairly often. By the number of views I think it's a shame that so few metal lovers know about this.
@@hakapeszimaki8369 I said audio quality, not studio audio quality (thus referring to this video), and it was mere a joke. (hence the laugh). And yes, I am familiar with the amount of bandwidth tape recorders have from that era. Both my brother and brother in law are musicians who recorded in studios/instruments from and in that era.
I'd love to see Dave do a second album. This song was one of the highlights of the album amongst so many others and I'm sure he'd get even more guys to jump onboard and write some wicked shit with him.
I watched this when it originally aired with my best friends over to party that night. There's something captivating about Eric Wagner's voice, and the more I listen to all the stuff he's done, the more subtle influences I hear in his voice. For instance, he has a lot of Beatle-isms. Wino and Greg Anderson...two of the absolute best guitarists around, let alone in their (sub)genre!
I listen to Probot several times a week. Not one bad song. Especially love this song, Emerald Law, Red War, and Ice Cold Man. Supposedly Grohl said he wouldn’t do it again…maybe because it appeals to limited fan base?!? But-he did other compilation project with Sound City, so I keep hoping.
Did you hear Dream Widow? Basically Dave doing this kind of thing but without the guests. It’s awesome! It didn’t get much promo because it came out the day Taylor passed.
@@KevCraven YES! The album is badass. Understandably overshadowed by Taylor’s gut wrenching death, but too bad because it’s worth attention by metal fans.
It is amazing what we are witnessing here...Anderson, Wino and Wagner together performing one song. It is the doom/stoner equivalent of a cosmic explosion.
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer well yeah there are probably many drummers with better technical skills than Dave, but Dave has very very good timing and extremely hard hits. Not many drummers can match his power and energy. Thats why he's considered one of the best drummers of today
I could listen/watch this killer track on repeat all night. So much better than the studio version! Wino is god! (RIP Eric Wagner: April 24, 1959 - Aug. 22, 2019).
Wagner's vocals are lacklustre??! You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but I think his vocals are terrific- soulful and understated which allows the utter heaviness of the music to shine. Care to reconsider?
Who cares how "easy" it is to play!? It's about playing the perfect part for the song ! Nothing more i can't stand than keyboard heroes who comment on "how easy " something is to play .
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer Nobody gives a fuck how many better players there are than Dave. Why do you listen to this music if all you're going to do is bitch and moan about how "overrated" he is? I'd love to see you try and perform that fill. Clearly that shouldn't be too much of a problem for you judging by your "I'm a professional stick-up-the-ass drummer" criticisms.
Bradley Johnson 4 reals! Dave is human metronome! He's a fcking beast as well! Simple yes but he makes it sound good! Everything that dude touches turns into gold! Lol.
