I hope this channel gets more recognition. Your tutorials have been incredibly helpful to me, and I really appreciate your dedication to keeping them up-to-date.
Did you ever make the video about an improved looping noise texture asset for geometry nodes? Been looking through your videos to find it but haven't had luck yet, would love to see that as well!
Hi, No not yet, unfortunately. I did make the geometry nodes asset, but haven't made the tutorial yet. I didn't think anyone would be interested. But since you've asked for it, I'll do my best to release a tutorial on it as soon as possible. Maybe sometime this week? Or next weekend. Let's hope for the best :)
@@deayanstudios I was able to just setup an identical version as the shader one but just curious what kind of improvements you came up with, the basic node group has been super useful in my projects so thank you!
That's great! So in geometry nodes, the noise texture is generally used to create actual motion or displacement. Usually the noise values (going from 0-1) causes a displacement towards the top right. The improvements were essentially adding in a slider to control to remove this unexpected displacement, centring the noise around 0. Apart from that, another slider to control the strength of the displacement. Finally, using multiple group input nodes, making it much easier to understand. There may have been a few other improvements that aren't at the top of my head now, but those were the main ones.
