Loved the video. However, for newcomers to blender, the texture sand color part specifically 14:48 was a huge gap of an unexplained procedure. I too, wish it was a step-by-step guide rather than explaining what's already been made. Material Plane size? How do you create it? Do you attach it to the main desert and how? etc. Love the content though
One of the best tutor about generating desert. Thaks a lot! Shader can be a litle improve: add darker areas based on hight of sand vawes (Geometry_Info_[Position] + Separate_XYZ_[Z] + Maht_[Multiply] + ColorRamp)
I'm a Cinema 4D user and happened to stumble across your video. I've just released a desert generator for Cinema 4D myself, albeit a bit more extensive, so I found it very interesting how it works in Blender. Very cool tool of yours!
nice tutorial, my only recommendation would be to go through the notes to explain what their influence on each other is and why it ends up looking like a desert along the way. Now it's just a follow along with almost no knowledgable substance. Great video anyway and thanks for the dunes! :D
Fantastic tutorial, thank you! There was one thing I couldn't get to work in Cycles which was the wavy sand lines from the wind. Do you by chance know what I might have missed in the tutorial? I created everything, including the sand procedure texture in the second half of the tutorial.
Great tutorial man! followed the whole thing but i don't have the settings like u do in 0:12 how do i get those settings to change stuff? mine says no group output attributed connected
Quick question: I just bought the project file, how can I export the texture so I can use it in unity? When I export as fbx normally, the textures aren't there. *I'm a beginner, hope you see this
When I input the model, none of the nodes effect the terrain. I don’t use nodes much so I could be doing it wrong. But none of it changes the model. Height, seed, etc.
amazing tut, thank you for taking the time to make this (love your accent :) I was hoping you could give me a hand with tiling the 200m surface without using an array modifier and breaking the edges?
I worked with the tutorial and got to 20.27. I also did the grass tutorial, but when i join the geometry notes and connect them to output blender crashes every time. what can i do?
This was great. I very much so enjoyed following this tutorial. The only thing I wish is that my sand waves looked like yours. I follow every step to a T but still am not getting the same results. Can you help!?
hard to tell from distance - but I recommend you the free (or paid) version of blenderkit.com - it's an addon with thousands of free materials, including the sand shader
hello, thanks for this tutorial, it was very helpful. However, I have a question, how did you do it in the intro, how did you adjust the parameters, what were written separately? Thanks for the reply! Have a nice and creative day! :)
@@blenderdude5050 That's what I've done after a while. But I forgot to link the material in "set material" (geonodes again). It works now perfectly. Thank you for your answer.
The power of blender is both: Inspiration and intimidation. To some people it's the beauty of mathmatics, some say it's a horror. The question for me is: where is the demand for these creative pictures and animations ? I would love to do custom production ...
@@blenderdude5050 Explanation: I love to create such worlds/pictures, but the big question is, who wants it, who needs it, who admires it, and so on. It's similar to the question of the meaning of life ... I'm afraid nobody can help me there. Or can you ?
@@Steve_creates_Visions Ah, I see. Then you have the same problem I have with very many Geometry Nodes tutorials. With very many tutorils, especially the abstract ones, I also don't see any application except the beauty of the graphic itself.... I try to give with my tutorials every time at least as prasktische application examples as possible.
I don't understand how to get the texture on there. I downloaded a sand texture and added it to another object, and from there I added it to the geometry node, and the color of the object changes, but I don't get any of the sand details. and I can't adjust the scale.
@@blenderdude5050 Hi, thanks i found it, ive nearly finished this tutorial and its turning out great. Making the grass texture now. May i ask how you got the blue gradient background in the viewport render?
@@romeocodm hei, can i asking you? i can't find texture coordinate when i start making procedural sand section. may i know how to find it? i just aware that he 's not making procedural section in geometry node. where is it made? i'm so sorry if my english so bad.
Hi, yes, that should be possible. You could do it with a mix of two textures and connect them with a "mix" node. This should happen at the very beginning at 4:20, when creating the first Voronoi texture.
Really nice tutorial even though the sand texture just won’t work for me for some reason it always comes out as a dark brown plane without any texture although only when I look at it in the render preview when I look at it from the Material preview everything looks totally fine has anyone a clue what I am doing wrong ?
Hi, you can add a "realize mesh" node right before the "group output" or you can just apply the geometry nodes modifier like any other modifier. should work...
Hey at first, amazing tutorial, the end result looks gorgeous but for some reasons my dunes don't cast any shadows im kinda new to Blender so its probably something realy dumb :D (for Ligthing im Using the Dynamic sky add-on which is already part of Blender )
