Some things might not have been fully covered, so if you want me to focus on something more specific in the next video (Smarttrim - Watchdogs), write it in the comments.
I'm using a 5900x and I use the second ccd for all the background junk and set the games (when they don't use all the threads effectively) to the primary ccd. This helps improve and stabilize fps in the games I primarily play (gzdoom, very single thread limited). Since ryzen likes all the cache it can get, I guess forcing everything out of the cache on the 1st ccd is mainly what helps in my scenario. This doesn't help in heavily threaded games, obviously, so I wouldn't recommend it on newer games and whatnot. Just throwing my 2 💩💩at the wall.
this might be a heavy task to ask from you but no one has ever done it on youtube on a lot of process lasso videos people recomend locking all processes on some cores and leaving the other cores to only run games, but they never show any performance comparisons in my experience trying to test on my own i have never gotten any performance increase from -putting all processes on threads and running the game on physical cores -locking all processes to 2 physical cores and 2 threads and running the game on the remaining threads and physical cores (8 core cpu) one thing that is easy to notice is that sometimes removing core 0 and 1 from the cpu affinity increases performance, notably cs2 and valorant because those games are very cpu dependent (might be wrong for cs2 but it was the case for csgo) i cannot understand why this trend exists in process lasso videos on youtube, it might fix heavy cpu bottleneck but most sell it as a performance boost which it really isnt and it would be great to have an in depth comparison video like you do
Thank you for your comment , I had started to testing some combinations with specific dedicate threads for games and the others for processes . Now I guess it’s a good idea to do a depth video about affinities combinations and they can help us
Hi, i have a ryzen 3900x, in a few games like elder scrolls online limiting the game to threads 0-11 would get me 10-15 more fps but that is most likely because the game was not able to run in both ccds at the same time ( infinity fabric latency lowers fps ). So, while it does work, i believe it is VERY system dependant and you have to run your own tests to see if it is worth it for you, you also need a game that bottlenecks your cpu somehow. I have no way to test latency, other games like warzone did not see any fps increase, so just test it and see how it works for you!
thx, i am using the process lasso. (foreground boost on, probalance, perf mode off). useful for programs, when rendering, cannot move a cursor, delete last threads using low, high priority, IO for some processes
The options can be done by process explorer and some others with task manager , some others are based on official Microsoft documents and methods just are not implemented officially in the OS in order the user to do changes , I guess they haven’t done it because it’s not very safe for the simple users.
What are the Process lasso settings used when your results simply say “Process lasso” Is it just with the program open? Also what was performance for CPU affinity SMT ?
SMT is for amd CPUs thus for my intel is hyper threading and unfortunately I couldn’t cover both . When I’m referring to “Process Lasso” is the same settings as they are when you install them for first time .
HT = Hyper threading , no you no need to disable it from BIOS, that what you need to do like I did for the video is to test your main games and monitor which game is better with HT enable or disable , every game behave differently. About I/O either do it with Process Lasso either by registry , search the main reg key online .

i have ryzen 5 3600 ,so what i did was hard locked all my windows related services to cpu priority idle with dynamic boost and thier cpu affinity to core7-11 Used reserved cpu sets on core0-6 and locked my games to run on core1-6 And for process like csrss, dwm, smss ,msmpg(defender) etc which cannot hard locked on idle priority and cannot be locked to core7-11 i just used soft lock with cpu sets like core0&7-11 and so far i m getting the best fps Can anyone give suggestion on this also mouse interrupts and gpu interupts are on core 6
I did something similar , I set 0-3 threads for background processes , I set almost all background to idle mode etc and I use the profiles that I show on the video .
if you're not using all your cores for games you're losing a crazy amount of performance, i used to test with using only half the cpu without any processes running on those and ye maybe the latency was better but it would be -40% performance, i also think i had a 5 3600 then, if you managed to get it to work without massive performance decrease please tell me
Process Explorer is a tool for monitoring and troubleshooting, not related with process lasso , yes you can change priorities etc with process lasso but you can’t create profiles or to re apply always the settings , you need to do it manually in every restart
@@ryugaroxas you see those big graphs like 30 seconds earlier in the video, you watch those, its just numbers and drawings with some writings, i think you can figure it out, basically you generally get lower latency with a slight decrease to performance if you use process lasso
