That guy has done that about a million times! Love it, no waste! They make a cutter splitter that hooks to a skid steer that would work well on a lot like this. It picks up maybe 8' log from piles then pushes them to the end, cuts and then pushes through the splitter to be dropped anywhere.

I got a big wood burner and cut a lot of wood and split it. I built my Owen spliter out of the junk I had laying around . The only thing I bought was a 5.5 motor and hyd 2 stage pump. Think I got a total of about a little over 300 in it. That's a nice processer.

I want one! What a great 'have-to-have' for the local lumber/log/wood recycler. I don't know how much a cord of split firewood costs in NC, but to buy one ($50K for a new one, a used one on eBay for $22.5K), the ROI would have to be there. Gonna guess, this one has paid for itself AND made money for the wood recycle owner. As always, Chris, you take us to some of the coolest places to see the coolest stuff. Thanks!!! 😎👍 P.S. Sorta glad the slurpy pond mud is still drying out......and, we didn't do pond work today. Just so doggone scary - hopin' ya don't get into a mud 'situation' upto your sunglasses. 😜😳😉
@hi13760
@hi13760 4 года назад
I'll give you the answer. don't! The cost of a cord of wood in my area of town is about $200. The price of natural gas or fuel oil is dirt cheap. Wood stove are 1/2 efficient of furnaces. So long store short. Fire word is commodity, not a necessity. The bank will be calling your phone a lot for their money.

It was really close to a cord depending on the trailer length...a cord of wood is 128sq.ft so it would take a 10ft long trailer stacked 2 ft tall and a little over 6 ft wide and it would be a cord and that trailer looked mighty close to that size!
