Beautiful, I loved John Farnham’s version!

I think the whole song is an acid trip, and was typical of the times. I love the original, it's very nostalgic to me. But I love John's version. His interpretation of the lyrics of a song is always spot on, and then you have his voice !!!!

I love both versions. Grew up with this song and when I heard John sing it, I played it over and over again...not just because of the nostalgia, but because when John sings, my heart goes into meltdown. He has a voice that can make you like any song he sings. Thanks heaps for your reaction. ❤

Love this version by John - the original is great as well. I didn't even know John did it until I saw Dr_Kap's remastered version a few months ago. His voice is just a storytelling voice with perfect diction and emotion. Thank you for reacting to our John 🥰

John’s version is just sublime

Jayne does it again. Gary and John provide two nice vocal performances. In John's version the strings really bring out the melody's classical roots. I know the song, I just can't spit it out. One of the three B, Vivaldi? I repost at 4 am when it comes to me. I enjoyed this very much. The long, collerless shirt is called a Nero if you wish to go shopping. Have always loved the original. I find the video disturbing because it's bad miming and i guess my expectations are that videos be a live performance or a performance of a purposeful sort other than half-arsed miming. Damn I'm cranky. I respect that Farnham was holding back to respect the song rather than just showboat. He did a good reinterpretation that was still close to the original.

Great song another song that he has covered but has no video as it was recorded by the sound engineer at a sound check is John Singing "Black Dog" by a band called Led Zepplin

Of course I had the album (33 1/3! I updated) by Procol Harum and I admit I was never quite sure what a whiter shade of pale meant!! But the music was cool! John held his own on this one!!
