if you think they are geniuses now, idk what you'll think after analyzing the lyrics. Damiano, the singer, writes all of their lyrics, simply put, their italian songs are poetic and beautifully written
As I said before, Teatro d’Ira vol. 1 is the album of the year...it’s stunning, surprising, diverse and complex, unapologetic. I cannot pick a favorite song, how could I ?! 🤟
Nah, the deluxe edition of Thundermother’s _Heat Wave_ album, _Vertigo_ by Jess and the Ancient Ones, and _Unholy Hymns_ by The Bridge City Sinners are my top 3 albums of the year.
YES! Trying to be an expert (am not). This album is recorded live, meaning there's no production (maybe minimal). And it is THEIR choice. The producer (and now also their manager) has worked with them since x-factor in 2017. His secret is that the band is in full control of everything, and he let's them.
Same with Greta Van Fleet. Though one band is more dark and the other light, I love them both because they're bringing back rock music with meaningful lyrics.
@@kindking8009 Yeah. I think Damiano was the only singer on American Music Awards, who performed without autotune. Real music versus computer-artificial music. What do you prefer? We KNOW.
@@henrikmunk450 Sorry, I'm not sure why you directed your comment at me. I'm not seeing the connection between what I said and what you said. Can you clarify?
8:38 I love when Ethan comes in with the drum pedal strokes + tom as Damiano says "landmines": I see them, I feel them, I lower my head between my shoulders.
You should really read the translated lyrics, the music makes even more sense when you know what they're saying. Damiano (the singer and writer of the lyrics) is a fucking poet. Also, Thomas Raggi, the guitarrist is a huge John Frusciante fan, so i always hear some Red Hot Chilli Peppers in him 😊
Ci sono cantautori italiani mille anni luci meno banali di loro . Io imparo l’inglese per ascoltare e gli inglesi si sforzino a capire due parole banali .
I suggest for you to read the translation of the lyrics it will make you fall in love with them even more; Damiano in Italian is basically a poet, there isn’t another way to describe the way he writes. I strongly recommend it.
You should react to Torna a casa. It's one of their older songs, it was a total hit in Italy when it came out and showcased softer and more intimate side of their sound.
Timestamps: 1:00 - Track 1: Zitti e Buoni 6:20 - Track 2: Coraline 13:31 - Track 3: Lividi Sui Gomiti 18:29 - Track 4: I wanna be your slave 23:27 - Track 5: In Nome del Padre 29:08 - Track 6: For Your Love 35:33 - Track 7: La Paura del Buio 41:22 - Track 8: Vent’anni
The album was recorded live (in the studio), so just one guitar. Damiano plays a little (a little! in Vent'anni), but not in the others. You need to check them live: Radio Italia live, Rds live, Rtl 102.5 live, and so on. They are that good even live. Their documentary was filmed when they were recording their first album (Il ballo della vita) which was a big mix of pop, rock, etc, it's very different from Teatro d'Ira. By they way, your Italian is not bad at all! 😉
Coraline is the true sad story of a girl who suffered violence from her father, who unfortunately died. at the end of the song a castle with powerful walls is named which is actually the Verano cemetery in Rome. Coraline's lyrics are pure poetry like many of the lyrics of other Italian Maneskin songs and more. I am writing to you below the translation of the text in English, read it really changes the meaning of the song, thank you very much 😁👍 greetings from Italy 👍 Alessandro CORALINE Tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline Coraline, as beautiful as the sun A warrior with a zealous heart Hair like red roses Those copper wires are precious, my love, take them to me If you'll hear the bells singing You'll see Coraline weeping She takes the sorrow of others And she carries it inside of her Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline But she knows the truth Going on is not for everyone With the heart split in two halves It's cold already She's a child but she feels Some kind of weight and sooner or later she'll break People will say. "She is not worth anything" She can't even go out of a simple door But one day, one time, she will make it And I told Coraline that she can grow up To grab her stuff and then leave But she feels a monster keeping her in a cage Covering her path of mines And I told Coraline that she can grow up To grab her stuff and then leave But Coraline doesn't want to eat, no Yes, Coraline would like to disappear And Coraline weeps Coraline is anxious Coraline wants the sea but she is afraid of water And perhaps the sea is inside of her And each word is an axe A cut on her back Like a raft that sails In a swollen river And perhaps the river is inside of her, of her I'll be fire and cold A shelter during winter I'll be what you breathe I'll understand what's inside of you And I'll be water to drink The meaning of good I'll also be a soldier Or light at night And I ask nothing in return Just a smile Each of your smallest tears is an ocean on my face And I ask nothing in return Just some time I'll be a banner, a shield Or your sword of silver and And Coraline weeps Coraline is anxious Coraline wants the sea But she is afraid of water And perhaps the sea is inside of her And each word is an axe A cut on her back Like a raft that sails In a swollen river And perhaps the river is inside of her, of her And tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline Coraline, as beautiful as the sun She lost the fruit of her womb She never knew love But a father who is nothing like a father They have told her that in the city there's a castle With walls so strong That if you go and live in there Nothing will be able to hit you Nothing will be able to hit you
Måneskin is just too good in every way. Everything you pointed out here obviously about their skills as musicians and the production side of it all, but so much more goes on top of that. They are also born to be on the stage, they all look natural and enjoy performing. Their lyrics are ingenious, understanding the songs creates new levels of emotions. They are real, not just a product made in a record company. They are nice to their fans, polite in interviews, and seem like a bunch of actually decent young people. They are brave and keep pushing boundaries in what they do, say and wear. They use their position to speak for minorities. I'm super happy to see Måneskin doing so well, as I honestly feel they deserve it all!
if you want to react to more maneskin i highly recommend their live perfomances! they're not only amazing playing live, but they are also amazing performers, and i feel like thats not as common with bands as it is with (some) pop artists, but they are great! i was impressed by their stage presence and i'm also a bts fan so i feel like my standards are very high haha (also, cant wait to hear your music if its gonna sound anything like maneskin! i loved that bit you showed)
Yes, their live performances are great! And all people - from London, New York, Belgium or Russia, singing in Italian, dancing, have fun with him. Atmosphere there - amazing 🤟🎆🔥!
@@antonellalovato3813 I love how he was just jamming to the song so hard and just like "OH YES THE DRUMS C'MON" while me, an Italian, was breaking down crying
Hi, Writing from Sweden. I became a fan of Måneskin after they won ESC. They sort of stood out compared to all the other artists and they were just so amazing and unique. Started obsessing and watched and listened to everything I could find of them. And then I stumbled upon your amazing channel! I really like that you’re into them as well and I just wanna say that you’re doing a great job with this channel! Really enjoy watching your reactions and how you explain how the music is built or put together. Also looking forward to your music! Keep doing what you do!
Am happy Swedish like Måneskin. They are, probably, the best thing came out from Eurovision from ages. My dream for ESC 2022 in Turin would be their miniconcert in one of the interval acts! I am sure this would boost the audience to incredible numbers. Probably more than Madonna in ESC2019.
Sweden is my favorite country. And the Swedish band Thundermother is my favorite band. Have you gotten to listen to them? There are a lot of other good 21st century Swedish rock bands out there, too, like Lucifer, Dead Lord, Hypnos, HIFLY, Vidunder, Troubled Horse, Spiders, Burning Saviours, Dead Man, Night, Hällas, Märvel, Robert Pehrsson’s Humbucker, Hot Breath, MaidaVale, Blues Pills, Velvet Insane, Lykantropi, Svartanatt, The Night Flight Orchestra, Year of the Goat, Acid’s Trip, Graveyard, Luciferian Light Orchestra, and, of course, Ghost. Some of the really good ones have unfortunately broken up, though, like Horisont, Heavy Tiger, and Honeymoon Disease.
I can't really add anything to what you've said, bc you've really nailed everything about them lol just a piece of advice for you to enjoy and understand this band a bit more, go check out the lyrics. MAN THE LYRICS. So freaking raw and deep for guys/girl in their freaking 20s OMG. Coraline, Vent'anni, La Paura Del Buio, In Nomme del Padre are just a few I remember now. Trust me, you'll be mind blown. I'm so freaking glad I've found this band, jeez. They're next level. ❤️
This album is so good, I was blown away when I first heard it too- they really are professional musicians in the truest sense. But then I found the translated lyrics and man it added so much more because the instruments really do serve as the atmosphere and energy of the drama in the lyrics- it really is a theatre, a full performance where every bit of the composition has meaning in relation to each other. I think you will really enjoy the documentary- and then after it you should check out their first album- Il Ballo Della Vita which is the one they are writing in the film, because you can hear how they got to this album, all the experiments and range of sounds they tried one as they mastered it all. I also really appreciate with this band that in the live performances they can go off the script a bit- they can improvise a bit or experiment even within their own songs because they know their stuff and can make a song you've heard multiple times always sound fresh or have an added little something extra to make you want to watch every new performance. I am so impressed with everything they do and how seriously they take it. One day you should check out their first X Factor audition, and realise they wrote their first album about a year later and the scale of how they grew in that time. I really love you reactions, they make me enjoy the music in new ways each time.
I would really love a lyric breakdown of their two recent albums from you! Because they're not only great musicians, but Damiano also writes amazing poetic lyrics that are perfectly emphasized through their music. I'm so thrilled you are as exited about them as I am and I look forward to many more reactions! Your demos sounded awesome! I can't wait to listen to them. I hope your bandmates weren't too mad at you ;)
if you had told me in 2018 that youtubers like Blake would react to my fellow italians i wouldn't have believed you. i knew they'd go far but reach this level of success so soon and getting all this praise?? i am so proud🥺
I am so proud you finally got to listen to this masterpiece Blake! I am italian, I love this band, I am proud to say they represent my country and I've been following you for a while, so I can say that I was waiting for this one! I suggest you to look into the lyrics as well. They're so deep and meaningful.
Great reaction! When I first got this album and listened to it my jaw dropped , everything sounded so perfect and the lyrics especially in the italian songs, with special mention to Coraline and Vent'Anni are touching and deep.
Thank you Blake. This is the most insightful and knowledgeable reaction on Måneskin, and a great review of this amazing album. I love most, if not all, of Måneskin songs, "Vent'Anni" and "For Your Love" being at the top of my list......Vent'Anni hits me really hard on an emotional level, and the lyrics are those of a poetic genius..... The fact that this music was composed by such young artists, at 18 or 20 years old, makes it all more impressive. Må are phenomenal. Lividi sui Gomiti, Nome del Padre and Coraline are mind-blowing.
La cosa meravigliosa è che questo gruppo raggiunge prestazioni ancora più alte se li senti dal vivo ,sono Meravigliosi e ancora di più se capisci le parole di certi testi 👍
Really enjoyed this album-length reaction! You’re genuine and enthusiastic and educational. Definitely the Radio Italia session is the one for you, Blake! I think they sound amazing in that gig. Also their cover of Amandotti with Manuel Agnelli.
Hi. I love tour reaction.i m an italian 50ty years old become Crazy for maneskin.Read the lyrics are beatiful and all written by Damiano(Remember 20 years at that time) Sorry for my awful english😅
Wauw! Someone to relate to...🤩 I'm nearly 50, although feeling 20 ( still/ again) and really captured by this band! Most people my age laugh about my excitment.. but this is band really really really good! Not just a whim!! (And what does our age say???: ROCK 'N ROLL NEVER DIES 🤣🤣🤟🎸)
Never apologize for your English. Most native English speakers don't speak a lick of Italian (or any other language) so you're already a step ahead of us.
Never clicked so fast. Blake, you are amazing and I'm blow away by your competence as much as I was for Maneskin album. Really great. And your demos sound amazing too, for sure I will listen to your music when it is released. Maneskin are only 20/22yo and are great musicians and hard workers behind all the glamour, and I'm sure we will be amazed by them again and again in the next few years.
Great and fun reaction! Definitely some good insights. Loved the Queen comparison(the favorite band of my youth), same killer frontman, varied and complex songs with great lyrics. I haven’t been as obsessed with a rock band since Queen. And, yes do a reaction to Coraline with the English translation, it is a masterpiece of music and lyrics. Most emotional song I’ve heard in years! I will post the link to a live version.
Hi from Padua, Italy! I discovered Maneskin with mi daughter ( ten years) and i immeadeatly felt in love with their music! The sound it reminds me my favorite groups of the 90 th .Here, in Italy, we call us mammeskin, which it means matherskin, and we ,the ladies whom adore them, their music, we are so proud of what they became with hard work and never been let down by the critics( and they have e a lot here in Italy). My favorite song from “ Teatro d’ira” is “ Vent’anni “..
"is there a synth in it" ? Vent´tanni" (20 years old) was released months before the rest of the album. In living cycles of albums IMO it can be decribed as the last track of the album before: "Il ballo della Vita", which had 5 Top 10 hits in Italy. As you said, they are searching still thier sound, and this song seems a transition to the rest of the sound on "Theatro d´Ira"
It’s not long ago this album was released but I look at the cover image now and think ”where did those 70’s bohemian kids go?”. 😄 ❤️ Their styling went in another direction after this.
Coraline ABSOLUTELY needs LYRICS!!! Same for VENT'ANNI! Trust us, CORALINE is a true and sad story and only if you listen to the music while following the lyrics you will fully appreciate the song!! And Vent'anni is a message that they write from the future to themselves when they are 20. Anyway Your reactions are really good and interesting ❤Big hug from Italy
Blake, I really appreciate your reactions and your analysis about them, they are simply great, outstanding, Damiano has a pure and unique voice and the band itself together creates something of unforgettable and remarkable. As many have already said, you should read their lyrics cause songs like Coraline, Vent'anni and La paura del Buio are real poetries. Having said that, I really wanna thank you for your accuracy and competence, cuase just a few are able to do a perfect reaction as you did, please keep going on and don't miss the future maneskin' songs.
Best album available today. Replete with all sorts of styles of rock Maneskin can do . Choc full of super hits by them . I have the album and it's simply awesome !!! My favorite track , well, they are all super , but ,it's Coraline. But you have to read the lyrics to that song AT THE SAME TIME ,the lyrics make it brilliant . Great video man , keep it up !!
I recommend watching LA PAURA DEL BUIO live on radio Italia. it’s SO good Ps it’s so interesting listening to what you have to say musically on this album
YES YES! Here is a link that has the english (and italian) subtitles if you turn on the 'CCs' - i cant recommend this enough. seeing where the lyrics match into the music is astounding 👏 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eG-bBYiVWWM.html
I love watching your reactions because you bring a vision of music I'm not used to seeing! I usually focus on the lyrics and the emotions, and a lot of youtube reactors do as well, so I love how you make me pay attention to the production. :) Also I'm super happy you're digging Måneskin, I was waiting for this vid
your reaction was priceless! i love watching others who appreciate måneskin as much as i do.. i’m so proud to be italiani! BUT y’all should definitely check out the translation of the italian songs cause they are beautifully written, so deep and intese that i’m sure they will leave a mark on you. Btw you should also listen to “torna a casa” which is one of their first hit songs and it’s a pure masterpiece!
Thank you very much for your awaited reaction. It is nice to listen to the songs and get sensations from them sometimes corresponding to the meaning, other times totally distant as in the case of Coraline. The Maneskin lyrics for the Italian songs are very important! Their meaning is deep and poetic, here it gets serious. The jokes and games are more in English texts much lighter, carefree, sexy, so it is important to understand them and immerse yourself in the reflection that is given to you by the writing of a poet like Damiano! ;-)
Thank you, this was interesting. I'm always curious about analyses about what makes music I like the way it is, since for me music is mostly just emotions and a like/ not like thing. That being said, thanks to your demo sneak peek I gave a listen to your band in Spotify, loved it! I'll be checking out your EP for sure once it's there!
Hi Blake ...I listened to this album hundreds times and I never get enough ...but listening it with your comments has been a great present cause there's nothing better in life that share pleasure with someone you appreciate or love... Thanks !!! Look for the lyrics in english of the italian pieces and you'll be amazed (shocked with Coraline )...lyrics are 50% of the beauty of each song. Believe me. ...and they are just 20-22 (venti 20 anni years as in the final lyrics : "you're 20, I'm writing to you now before it's too late and the doubt to be noone (d'essere nessuno) will hurt you, you'll be somebody only if you'll be different from the others....but you're only 20). Thanks and a hug from Rome.
"Sarai qualcuno se resterai diverso dagli altri" I'm not Italian... but this sentence... 🤔...: ❤❤❤ ( knowing what it means... it even sounds better in Italian )
@@meike.v.d.627 A more precise translation is something like "You will be somebody only if you remain different from the others", and this makes sense because before this, he says: "Ti sto scrivendo adesso prima che sia troppo tardi", i.e. "I'm writing to you right now, before it will be too late". So the meaning is something like: in your twenties you are more idealistic and sincere, but from this age you can start also to corrupt yourself.
I agree with the lyrics adding yet another dimension to their music in their Italian songs especially. I also love Damianos pronunciation in italian. Thomas love for Led Zeppelin is also another factor in their music. I really liked this reaction clip. 😊
I must admit that not many other music analysts have been able to grasp the creative flair of these young boys capable of mixing with unusual skill in such young boys, genres, atmospheres and influences so different and often distant. Many stop to look (often envying them) only their success without fully understanding the reasons of.
BEAUTIFUL REACTION I listened the whole and it was so…. Full of interesting things and musical .. Please do a lyrical breakdown of VENT’ANNI and CORALINE you will be astonished
I really loved your reaction!! The way you connect with each part of the songs and seeing you get excited about them was so nice! I really hope you get a chance to analyze the lyrics next cause once you also do that the songs get to a whole other level. These guys are truly talented musicians!!
i enjoyed this immensely! it's so great seeing people really appreciate this band because they are so insanely talented and still with huge room for growth!! so excited for their future tbh. you should react to their live shows because they are also terrific performers on stage. damiano in particular is captivating especially during la paura del buio.
Ehi Blake, thank you so much for your reaction, it's great for a change to watch a reaction from a person who is really involved with music production and not only oohhing and aahhing for the sake of the likes from us "silly" Italians :DDD And your comments are interesting for a "profane" non musician but avid listener like me. Teatro d'ira vol. 1 was recorded in"presa diretta", which I guess translate in english recorded live in studio in pure "old rock" tradition, and I know for a fact there aren't added guitars, the only instruments playing are Victoria's bass, Thomas guitar and Ethan's drums. As a style choice they wanted to keep a raw sound, in a time of overproduced music they preferred to go for less. I can't say I'm disappointed by such direction, I am a girl of the 60s and I love the raw sonorities of classic old rock and Maneskin with their 3 instruments and Damiano are able to own the stage with so full sound they don't need additions, but that's of course my opinion based on my taste. You mey want to check the links below for 3 of their US live performances that I bet you haven't seen.... Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D0KHZp9ZpQE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VbloyM_CwGI.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BbEF9FElMro.html
Ti ho appena scoperto e l'entusiasmo è l'accuratezza che metti nel descrivere i 4 ragazzi mi ha fatto veramente piacere Sto cercando tutte le tue reaction perché bellissime E mi sono iscritta!!! ❤
This video was so intresting to watch and I love to watch you falling in love more and more with Måneskin!! You should react to the other albums as well, specially "Il ballo della vita"!! People say they prefer Damiano when he sings in italian because the lyrics are on another level so I wonder what you'd think about the meanings behind the songs
You should definitely react to the rest of their discography, especially their first album “Il Ballo de la Vita.” It’s a completely different sound from this, but you could see glimpses of what they would become eventually. I’d say it’s a more commercial record but there’s some absolute gems in it.
