PRODUCT BATTLE: Ouidad VS. Cantu Refresher Sprays! 

They both look great, but for the price, I'm going with the Cantu....

I added water to the Cantu spray & put in a trigger spray bottle. Now it sprays a mist and Im able to spray it directly on my hair.

The Ouidad side had better curl to begin with, so the comparison is a bit unfair.

Ok, ok the ouidad side looked a little bit better, but NOT 25$ better!!! To be honest I would not spend so much more money for only slightly better results.

Diffusing immediately on one side vs having waited might be why one side looks shinier. On the cantu side some of your curls are stretched out too but in the other side they weren't. I noticed that on the ouidad side there's still frizz throughout out and the cantu side there's actually less

Ouidad side was less frizzy to begin with with tighter curl in areas.

I agree with María Simmonds. I'd probably change the sprayer for Cantu. Especially for the money! Lol I'm sure the expensive stuff runs out faster. Since you have to spray it more as well...

The Cantu spray is my holy grail product. I love it. But it works best with slightly damp hair. Never tried the ouidad because I'm cheap but I'd like to try it out. I highly recommend trying cantu on damp hair if you didn't love it on the first try.

I agree with some of the others that the Ouidad side was curly and shinier before you sprayed both products so the review did not really give a true reflection. I know myself (even tho I have wavy hair) that one side of my hair for some reason is always curlier than the other and also looks shinier than the other. It is madness why that happens LMAO. Also for some reason the back of my hair is a lot move wavy/curlier than the front??? I have 2A/2B waves at the front BUT my back is more like 2B/2C/3A before styling it!!!??? I wish it was the other way round Lol.

I won't say that Ouidad side wins for definition because your hair was a lot frizzier and dry looking BEFORE you started looking spraying Cantu spray. But only you can tell moisture. So maybe you should say Ouidad for moisture. I think the curls that were equivalent to the Ouidad side to start look defined and bouncy. Watch the video carefully.

Although the Ouidad side may appear to look better, it seemed that way more of that product was applied there than on the Cantu side. I know curly hair is "forgiving" but between the applicator being different (may not really be the fault of the product itself) and the cut being very different on the Ouidad side than the cantu side you cannot really expect exactness. The ouidad side has much more even layers (long layers) graduating throughout... and the cantu side has a LOT more shorter pieces starting from close to the top and then that longest layer. So where you say it is "thinner?"....the curls on the longest piece is not clumping with other curls. Overall...I'd say for a much lower cost product compared to a higher end one it did pretty well.

it'd be interesting to see you review Mixed Chicks products- they also have a curl reviver but it comes in a foam

Ouidad looks heavier but shiny but Cantu looks fluffy. Both look excellent so it’s a draw. I used Cantu with good results. Good value

Ouidad wins!!! It was shinier, less frizz, more defined consistently throughout the hair, and it also took a lot less time for you to saturate your hairs compared to the Cantu side. I do like Cantu but I guess quality ingredients matter. Side note: shout out to pops with the music 👏🏾🙌🏾

It's a great review. I had been looking for a Next day curl refresher for a while, finally bought the Cantu comback and I wasn't really impressed..so after seeing this review I think I'm gonna try Quidad. Thanks for lending a helping hand.. lol

I threw out the Cantu because it felt sticky (I didn't diffuse) and the spray stream was frustrating. I can see the difference on both sides. The Ouidad side is shinier and more defined. I wonder if the application method has something to do with the end result. It seems like the mist gets all of the hair directly where the hand application didn't. I don't feel so bad about throwing the Cantu out now. (I do use other Cantu products regularly - I just hated this spray).

I really like sheamoisture for low porosity they have refresher sprays and its drugstore but Cantu you can get at Walmart I see no frizz in your hair girl lol gorgeous!

The Ouidad looks better. I would try using the spray nossel from the Ouidad bottle in the Cantu to get a mist spray and see if it works better that way.

I think spaying on the hair and not with your hands is less "messing with the hair" Becuse its cheaper, I would buy the Cantu and put it in a spray bottel. Owidad DID look alittke shinnier. (I'll just add something for shine if needed) So I'll try out my theory and see. Thank you for the video.

Good idea to compare products. Sorry if I missed it, but curious what products you originally used on wash day. Would be great to know in future comparisons (as I understand it, the products originally used on wash day can impact results when refreshing later).

My daughter just bought CANTU, so I look for a video to see if it has to spray that badly. They did it terribly, that it has to be sprayed in the hand, so why the spray!? Cantu sucks.

Where do you get your hair dyed? I got my first Deva cut a few weeks ago. I didn’t know what I was doing so I didn’t ask for a dye job. Do you go to a Quidad salon, Deva Curl salon or regular salon? Thank you for any feedback you can offer 🙂

I love your hair cut. I'm going for my 1st Quidad cut next week. I've had a deva curl cut but never Quidad. I would like the top section cut like yours. Do you just ask for bangs?
